i was an atheist last month and as i was researching islam for my comic i watched a video that said if u sincerely prostrate and do the skeptic prayer god will show you the truth, so i said why not try it while i was in the shower and subhanallah in a span of a week i studied islam so much i couldnt even work and i did my shahada.
@Ali Raza well a month before my shahada i was researching Islamic mythology for my comic which deals heavily with the big picture questions of life. I personally came to the conclusion that the most probable theory of the origins of our universe is the intelligent designer theory. Shortly after this I studied the Quran for my comic and by total coincidence came across a chapter pertaining to the subject of god, surah iklas. That surah is so precise and powerful how it explains logically what god must be in order to be worthy of worship i was dumbstruck, i couldn't disagree with it. at that point i realized that if i kept on reading this Quran I'd become Muslim. That thought scared me so i quickly put it back on the shelf and for the rest of that month focused on finishing my work. When the work died down I saw a video of a Muslim doing dawah to random people and he told them to the skeptics prayer sincerely, which i did even though i was in the shower and subhnallah that entire week i became so obsessed with researching the authenticity of the prophethood of Muhammad (saw) and the wisdom in the Quran that i couldn't even focus on my work. At the start of that week i was not a Muslim and by the end of that week i did my shahada with my mother hamdillah.
I’m Muslim born but have been doubting all religion and god, I don’t know how to kick this away. I just physcially can’t accept the idea of no god but then again I don’t want to lie to myself
@@ZOOBZGOMEZ look into ali aties discussion on why god must logically exist from zaytunna college. there is evidence of god btw, but its not accepted by atheistic scientists because of obvious reasons. Most of them choose to assert that the multiverse hypothesis can explain the evidence for the uncreated creator away, but they still are left asking where the origins of the multiverses are and are ignoring akrams razor which tells us the simplest answer is likely the truest. The evidence for god can be clearly seen that the universe at its origins was so precisely dialed and tuned according to scientists that it demands a designer due to the fact that it couldnt realistically happen by chance according to the numbers, and the universe as it is was not a necessary happening. My own arguments from my experience. From my personal experiences of psychadelics i got this sense that reality felt realer when i was on it then when i was sober. It made me question if their are degrees of reality as we already know physicists are theorizing their are higher dimensions where space time is different the higher up you go. This made me question what is the highest truest dimension of reality that informs all the others below it? As i questioning I was working my comic and researching the quran to incorporate islamic mythology and i randomly came across the answer in suraht iklas which logically i could not refute. Also the quran is clearly a tightly knit coded book that has information in it which could not have been made up by a arab man in 7th century pagan arabia. You should also know the salat is actually the ultimate culmination of every prayer that came before it, and that prophet muhammad was prophecized by every religion that came before the announcement of islam. their are so so so many logical and scientific reasons why i became a muslim bro, and believe it or not i was a closed minded anti theist in my youth who rejected islam publically at a mosque. It took psychadelics to make me realize we dont know what is really going on and putting my faith in the atheistic brand of science which is always behind god was me shifting the burden of responsability to find out the truth. as long as u continue to seek knowledge with an open heart and not listen to the antireligious or religious dogma that is so prevelent in this age im certain you will find the truth as i did. remember just because the crowd around you may not accept god doesnt mean god isnt real. in fact it could be argued that hes the only real thing that exists.

The easiest way is to get you to believe nonsense is at an age where you're completely open to new ideas from those you trust. Bro, i swear the whole asking for guidance thing not only apply to non believer. They apply to us that were raised muslim as well. I remember I once didnt take islam seriously, used to be so depressed , basically was only muslim by culture. Until one night I hit the lowest point in my life where I was so lost and stopped trying at all. Instead of trying to talk myself out of it or trying to act like I was strong or trying to blame my problem on my past like I always did, for the 1st time while crying I sincerely admitting to myself that I was helpless, lost, had no direction and belong no where. That end with a sincere "oh God truely if you don't guide me I am a lost soul, truely only your guidance can save me" that was the sincerest whisper I ever make. I didnt even mean it as a prayer, it was like a burst out than anything else. But a very sincere one. since that day, guidance comes from all direction. My life has changed so much for the better. (Predestination and free will Paradox). - Academical atheist : Try hard finding flaw in the scriptures by using objective morality. - New atheist : Your belief is against science. Morality is built by social structure. - Old atheist : God is dead, human is trash, life is meaningless. - Rational atheist : Okay, what do we have here, let's discuss. The Big bang is mentioned in the Qur'an, though. You say people ask: "Where did it come from?". I would say: "Allāh". "Do they who disbelieve not consider the fact that the heavens and Earth were one, and then we separated them and are continuing to separate it?" Or how He says "all was as a hot smoke" Evolution could also be a mechanic devised by Allāh (subhannahu wa ta'ala) to allow his creations the ability to overcome trials. This doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't also create immediate creations. And life coming to earth from an asteroid could easily be an act of Allāh. The world *was* created by tribulation. I personally believe that scientific discovery is an act of worship. We are never told we may not learn these things, just that we won't likely be able to fully understand. Anyway, people can't digest the fact that I'm an ex-atheist/leveyan satanist who, alhamdulillah, was guided to the deen by Allāh (subhannahu wa ta'ala) through Surah al-Baqarah. @Don Killuminati You claim Jesus is God but nowhere in your bible does it say, what you preach, to be the core belief in Christianity, in an explicit and straightforward way.
@Don Killuminati Jesus literally speaks of God as "my Lord" and "your Lord". Never does he say "I am God and I came down to Earth". Also claiming Jesus is God and that he had to die in order to forgive all is limiting God's powers. If you did believe that He was Almighty and could do anything, why can't he just forgive the sins of those who repent and needed himself to die in order to do so.
Morgan Arnold Atheists, play a tricky game, the goalpost is constantly shifting, they switch between agnosticism to atheism depending on the situation, when they are cornered or pinned down they slip back into agnosticism and come back to atheism when it's safe for them to come back. Their intellectual dishonesty and inconsistency is astounding, not to mention their irrationality. They claim that atheism is a lack of belief (with their backs against the wall) as if it has some kind of meaning, what is lack of belief? You either believe or disbelieve. They *"IMPLY"* God doesn't exist, when you press them, they deny that they are making an objective claim. They pretend not to believe in what they can't proof or see, although 90% of what they believe is unseen and it is based on testimonial evidence. Not to mention the origin of this universe, they can't detect it, measure it, touch it, see it but they can't deny that it exists, but when you call it God, they are outraged, they would to go to any stupidity to try and avoid God. Their rejection of God has absolutely nothing to do with rationality, or deductive reasoning. It has primarily to do with their egos, their emotional or psychological issues, most of these so called atheists are in fact misotheists.

Speaking about chemical evolution or the foundations of evolution, Biochemist Franklin M. Harold Professordid mention in his book, The Way of the Cell: Molecules, Organisms and the Order of Life: "Cell components as we know them are so thoroughly integrated that one can scarcely imagine how any one function could have arisen in the absence of the others. Genetic information can only be replicated and read out with the aid of enzyme proteins, which are themselves specified by those same genes. Energy is harnessed by means of enzymes, whose production requires energy input. Darwinian evolution is at bottom the struggle among individuals defined by cell membranes, yet how could membranes and transport catalysts arise without genes, proteins and energy?" DNA can't be replicated without it being present in a cell membrane and without the presence of the enzyme proteins. The problem is that those enzyme proteins are themselves determined by the DNA. Energy is also produced by enzymes and the enzymes themselves require energy to be produced. Hence, how can you explain the gradual evolution of a cell if each component of it is dependent on one another? There is a video on youtube of one of the "Four Horsemen" of new atheism where he suggests that aliens could have possibly planted the first cell on earth, an indicator of how difficult the problem is.
BarakaAllahu feek akhee! Love these in depth interviews, especially revert stories! It's just interesting to learn what 'triggered' someone's acceptance, subhanAllah.
Exactly, nothing in this entire video gives a reason to believe in a god. Not understanding the Big Bang (he is way off), abiogenesis, or evolution is not evidence for a god.
@@anplusdre No. By evidence, I mean any evidence that proves the existence of a god. Any of them will do. (There are thousands to choose from) The physical absence of your particular god is just one of many reasons to not believe it exists, but it is far from the only one. When it finally comes down to it, there is simply no evidence to support the existence of a god. Many deluded believers tell me, time and time again, that there is plenty of evidence, but, of course, nobody ever presents any.

Very good video - Some criticism: I know from my experience with Atheists that once you say something that seems like a "God of the gaps" argument, they'll stop listening immediately. Sometimes in the video I sensed a little bit of this, especially at the end. However the point that I think was very strong was the logical necessity that the universe must be created/sustained willfully otherwise it would be chaotic. Also pointing out that much of science is based on a really shaky foundation even if things are well explained thereafter.

On the question: "Where did God come from?" First of all, that question, although often formulated in that exact way, isn't the actual question they're demanding an answer to. This is because asking "where" something came from is asking for coordinates in space. It's a question of location. But that's not what this is about. The question is: "Why does your God not require a preceding cause for his existence, if you're telling me that the universe couldn't have come into existence without a preceding cause?" I think this is a valid question, and deserves a response. Because if you're going to say that He just doesn't have a preceding cause, well then, they're going to apply that same argument to the question of the universe. Granted, it wouldn't be a very satisfactory answer, even for the atheist, but if they see you use it, then what's to stop them from applying it to their own problem? Or if you're going to say that God has always existed, without a beginning to His existence, and just leave it at that; they will apply that same logic to the universe, and they basically adopt the views of the ancient Greeks, by claiming that the universe has always existed. The Big Bang was preceded by an earlier world, and you have this inflation-deflation model, and this proces has been going on since eternity. One world expands, and then contracts back into a singularity, which then gives rise to another inflation event, etc. They can't prove this, because you don't get any empirical data from beyond the Big Bang, but if it works for the theist, then it'll work just as well for the atheist. Or at least, so it would appear if the discussion is limited to a brief back-and-forth, without elaborating. Now this is not an easy topic to discuss. It has many facets, many aspects, you have to be familiar with certain nomenclature, etc. But, it is not a topic that Islamic theologians have shied away from. Granted, it's actually quite rare to see scholars discuss these matters, but at the heart of the discussion, you'll find that theological beliefs and logic cannot be skipped over, or dismissed easily, by either side. The atheist is always asking you to prove the existence of God, or to disprove atheism, and they'll dismiss 9 out of 10 arguments people come up with. Clever ones might have listened to some philosophy lectures, read some books, or they have the Wikipedia page on logical fallacies handy, ready to pick a fallacy that they think refutes everything you mention to them (this happens so often, it's amusing), but I have never encountered an atheist who was actually familiar with the full scope of Islamic theology, and the literature that has existed in the Islamic world for over a thousand years; which discusses these matters in great detail. Some might think they're somewhat familiar with it, they'll throw the term "Islamic cosmological argument" out there, sarcastically, as if they've already deconstructed it, and they're now ready for you to start the discussion.. but on closer examination, in all instances, I always found their grasp of these matters severely lacking. And I'm not a student of these things, I'm just a guy who reads, and reflects a lot, and my knowledge really isn't very impressive. But I don't think any atheist has any logical reason to be an atheist. They'll insist that an atheist simply lacks any beliefs, but etymologically speaking, the term is literally a denial of the existence of God. I think denying or affirming something or someone's existence would constitute a belief. You'd have to believe that. You can't be casual about it. You can't claim to be an atheist, and at the same time insist that you have no belief. Sure, it's the lack of belief, but it's still a conviction within your mind. The term is atheist, after all: denying God, not denying beliefs. You should just call yourself an infidel, because that would be more accurate if atheism simply means a lack of belief. Anyway, I digress. My point here (if there was any), is that certain questions are valid, and people have a right to ask those questions, and maybe it's not so much that they deserve an answer, although it would definitely be beneficial if someone capable did in fact answer their questions, but it's also a personal quest in a way. You're asking tough questions, that's fine. So what if nobody's going to give a satisfactory answer? Is that it, you're going to stop and accept that as a final outcome to your inquiry? If the seeker is sincere, he/she will start exhausting their own mind, trying to look for answers and explanations. If the one asking is simply looking for an intellectual fight, and they're going to 'destroy' the other person's arguments.. you always see people use these combative terms, then such a person isn't really looking for answers. Even when you corner them with sound argumentation, they won't accept what you said, unless they are honest and sincere. And even then most people won't just jump ship and suddenly believe. Belief comes from Allah, exalted is He. You can discuss science, the Big Bang, the concept of time and infinity, miracles, whatever.. I think that while these things have their place for sure, ultimately, nobody's going to believe in God unless God has willed it for them.
"Why God doesn't need a cause while universe does?" I've been contemplating this question a lot in the past. It lead me to question why do we think something needs a cause to exist in the 1st place? The answer is simply because everything we've observed in this universe needs a prior cause to exist. So we apply that to God as well without deeper comtemplation. But here's the flaw with that logic. God is supposed to be the Creator, the one that creates the universe and how everything works Within it..which means even natural laws that guide the universe are part of His grand design. So the question then becomes, is it logical to apply natural laws within our universe to its Creator? You see where Im going with this? Because Cause and Effect, in a scenario where God exists, becomes nothing but one of natural law that govern the creation

i was an atheist last month and as i was researching islam for my comic i watched a video that said if u sincerely prostrate and do the skeptic prayer god will show you the truth, so i said why not try it while i was in the shower and subhanallah in a span of a week i studied islam so much i couldnt even work and i did my shahada.
Crazy story but amazing!
It took psychadelics to make me realize we dont know what is really going on and putting my faith in the atheistic brand of science which is always behind god was me shifting the burden of responsability to find out the truth. as long as u continue to seek knowledge with an open heart and not listen to the antireligious or religious dogma
that is so prevelent in this age im certain you will find the truth as i did. remember just because the crowd around you may not accept god doesnt mean god isnt real. in fact it could be argued that hes the only real thing that exists.

The Big bang is mentioned in the Qur'an, though. You say people ask: "Where did it come from?". I would say: "Allāh".
"Do they who disbelieve not consider the fact that the heavens and Earth were one, and then we separated them and are continuing to separate it?"
Or how He says "all was as a hot smoke"
Evolution could also be a mechanic devised by Allāh (subhannahu wa ta'ala) to allow his creations the ability to overcome trials.

Atheists, play a tricky game, the goalpost is constantly shifting, they switch between agnosticism to atheism depending on the situation, when they are cornered or pinned down they slip back into agnosticism and come back to atheism when it's safe for them to come back.

Earth is the only planet that a human can walk on without a space suit that is enough for me to know the universe was not formed from chance
Speaking about chemical evolution or the foundations of evolution, Biochemist Franklin M. Harold Professordid mention in his book, The Way of the Cell: Molecules, Organisms and the Order of Life:
"Cell components as we know them are so thoroughly integrated that one can scarcely imagine how any one function could have arisen in the absence of the others. Genetic information can only be replicated and read out with the aid of enzyme proteins, which are themselves specified by those same genes. Energy is harnessed by means of enzymes, whose production requires energy input. Darwinian evolution is at bottom the struggle among individuals defined by cell membranes, yet how could membranes and transport catalysts arise without genes, proteins and energy?"
DNA can't be replicated without it being present in a cell membrane and without the presence of the enzyme proteins.

The only "argument" there is against atheism, is evidence of the existence of a god or gods.

(There are thousands to choose from)
The physical absence of your particular god is just one of many reasons to not believe it exists, but it is far from the only one.
When it finally comes down to it, there is simply no evidence to support the existence of a god.

Sometimes in the video I sensed a little bit of this, especially at the end. However the point that I think was very strong was the logical necessity that the universe must be created/sustained willfully otherwise it would be chaotic. On the question: "Where did God come from?"
First of all, that question, although often formulated in that exact way, isn't the actual question they're demanding an answer to.
"Why God doesn't need a cause while universe does?"
I've been contemplating this question a lot in the past.
Thank you very much for this great lecture. God bless you and your family

Subhanallaah........dr brown has given some very very knowledgeable and delicate arguments......very helpful video

Love you for Allah's sake brother. I pray to him that we both and all the sincerely God-seeking people meet ourselves in Jannah❤🌹

Excellent analysis. Islam is a rational religion. Religion and science are complementary
Alhamdulillah.. Mashallah. Very well and beautifully explained. May Allah continue to guide and inspire you Brother.
Peace be upon you ❤️
It always is pleasing and soothing listening to Dr. Lawrence Brown. May Allah (SWT) keep him steadfast on his path. Ameen

Alhamdulillah
i cry . . . thank you for this video
We're all lucky to be part of the greatest ummah. Did you know all the prophets made dua to be part of this ummah. Only Jesus as got his dua answered.
When he was about to me crucified he begged Allah to remove this cup away from him the cross and allah has answerd his dauwh and he didnt die on the cross
Wow the explanation is mind blowing and straight to the point!
So from the beginning, what you are saying is nonsensical. Atheism has no believes, saying atheist beliefs, and doctrines is nonsensical. People who are atheist have believes, but they do not come from atheism.
Intellect, reason&Logic Use your brain their position is not that God does not exist it is that I do not believe your claim a god exists because you have not presented sufficient evidence to support your claim or to warrant belief.
Intellect, reason&Logic Use your brain Also you already do decide what's right and wrong and I can demonstrate that if you'd like me too.
Intellect, reason&Logic Use your brain So do you.
Intellect, reason&Logic Use your brain No you're confusing the map for the place, he's saying that he lacks a belief not that he knows or believes god doesn't exist. You're demonstrating you don't understand that rejection of a claim is not the same as an affirmation of the opposite.
Jason Roelle To be honest your language is kind of sloppy and you're trying to roll secular morality into this conversation instead of parsing his sentences and addressing his points head on. You totally missed that he didn't understand the difference between lack of a belief and belief in the opposition. Use the court room analogy, slow down and stay on topic. You got this.
were can i find more of his work ?
The phenomenon of creation doesn't apply to God, Almighty Allah, (The one and only).
Alhamdulillah, Islam is so beautiful and the way forward. Congratulations brother. This is truly From Darkness to Light: Sooner or later, the whole world will realise that only Islam is a true divine religion
Mashaalla 👏🏻👏🏻
You right. You must ask for guidance on order to get the answer and guidance. Alhamdulillah Subhanallah
When George Lemaitre first suggested that the universe was expanding he was mocked and laughed at by the brightest minds of the time then he was vindicated by the Hubble telescope, but if the Quran says it everyone wants to say it was common knowledge back then.welcome to atheism.
Alhamdulillaah all the arrogant atheists should listen to this and realize how misguided they are
Old lady and turtle joke was too deep and a great example to explain how it all started
We are fortunate that we have been taught by HIM to say ‘Alhamdulillah’. Forgive us God.
Allah hu Akbar
Does dr Laurence have a RUclips channel? Where can we find the series of these talks?
So his argument is essentially, there are gaps in our current scientific knowledge, and science has reached the limits of its understanding, therefore it follows that a great wizard created everything using magic. Anyone convinced?
Actually his argument is worst, his argument is essentially, science can't explain everything yet, therefore it can't explain anything. He claims that biological evolution can't explain chemical evolution(abiogenesis), which it doesn't even try to, therefore evolution is wrong.
There is a cause for everything that is the thing that he wants you to know.
@@zainabalkhouri229 How does he know this? Because he read it in the Quran or does he have some other proof for this assertion. Before you tell me its just common sense, remember than most of modern science is not common sense. If science was common sense, most of the ancient Greek philosophers would have been right about the nature of the physical world, but we know they were mostly wrong
@@xaindsleena8090 science is something based on theories whether it's true or not they test or research about it .. but at the end we are human and our nature is to make mistakes because we are not perfect accept the one who created us and created everything around us and all knowing.
@@zainabalkhouri229 "science is something based on theories whether it's true or not they test or research about it... but at the end we are human and our nature is to make mistakes because we are not perfect" - I agree. We will never know the truth about everything. But each passing year we move closer and closer to the truth. Look at how far humans have come in just the last 50 years - then think what might be possible in the next 10000 years, which is just a blink of an eye in human history.
"accept the one who created us and created everything around us and all knowing." how do you know we were created? And how do you know who this supposed creator is? I have never seen any evidence to justify belief in any god or religion. Its all just superstitious nonsense. Just listen to the ignorance of the man in this video. He doesn't understand the science he is talking about
15m mark - (I randomly sampled)... Yes. Abiogenesis has at least one very powerful hypothesis that ticks all the boxes - The origins of life most likely evolved out of chemistry in hydro-thermal vents.
Heat from the inner earth is stored as chemical energy in acidic bonds - This allows for a proton gradient to shift energy the same as a battery works and precisely what mitochondria does. Mitochondria were of course very simple free living microbes that now live symbiotically within every one of our cells.
lol
Thank you for bringing science here
prove it in labs simple is that , we cant show you GOD as we said HE is Out OF Space and Time But you can So go ahead and prove it In labs
Then replicate it, making such simple life must be as easy to make as you have explained it to be. But you can't can you :.(..
We're doing it. Look u, "synthetic life".
I am glad your daughter got better. You have not provided evidence that the cause was a God.
Can't provide evidence for something that doesn't exist!
The video is about much more than just that
@@regalizganchito5732 Calm down there Ganchito. Forgive us if we don't want sharia law and could give two fucks about what this Santa Claus imposter is trying to say.
@@thetimeisnigh3115 Calm down yourself, the video is not about sharia, and the real imposter is the one who cannot defend his views without using the f word
@@regalizganchito5732 Whoa, whoa Ganchito settle down, no need to go all fatwa and jihad on me
Assalamu aleykoum, excellent video I loved it, he explains with details his points, the only topic he didn’t discuss is the evolution from apes, that we share ancestors in common with them, but he kind if answered that question by saying that life cannot begin by itself, but I would like to know his point of view on this subject and on the "presumed" ancestors of mankind like australopithecus or homo erectus etc...
And no degree in science is mentiond (wonder why he doesn't understand entropy). Also idk, therefore god all the way down. Ouch
poor man you missed whole point God All the Way Up...hahshaaa
@@Raydensheraj all the thing you have mentioned who did it , unless your arrogant in denial , those of you who claim intellectual and advance , its ironic to accuse others the very think you do, amazing intelect
Felis Abdi no sorry you're presupposing there was a who when there's no evidence for a who was needed. First you're going to have to demonstrate that a god is necessary for the universe to exist which you and the speaker has not done.
amazing work, thanks
This whole speech is an argument from ignorance.
Your faith in atheism is so strong facts will not penetrate it
Have you heard Ken ham and Hugh Ross argue over the word day. Those are some facts. Lol.
ruclips.net/video/w0ZzU_Y8YD0/видео.html
It wasn't an argument.
No wonder you understood non of it
The whole speech is an argument against ignorance. Or did you find an answer to what happened before big bang?
I will like to meet this guy,and hug him with love and affection. His story--- is similar to my story.
