Dinah Washington won a Grammy Award in 1959 for Best Rhythm and Blues Performance with this song. Her version was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998. It also earned her first top ten pop hit, reaching number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. I've probably heard Angelina's version more than 100 times, and I go WOW! every time. I've gone to YT to hear Dinah's version several times, and it is superb. But I really prefer Angelina's. Her phrasing is flawless; her vibrato is absolutely beautiful, and her vocal fry is just amazing---and she' 8 years old! I'm really enjoying your Angelina journey, Hap. And I'm looking forward to more reactions from you. I'm not sure where you are on the playlist, but a great live performance when she was 10 is "Feeling Good". There are two versions, and both are great. I'll give you the one at the same summer concert of the one your just did, only two years later. I have watched a few 1st-time listens, and when it is concerning AJ, the reaction has been pretty much the same. WOWs and Smiles, Loved watching your reaction and my 1st-time reaction was basically the same. There is no doubt that Angelina Jordan is Very Special! I hope the Music Industry does not ruin her.

This is one of those songs that if you don’t actually watch her sing it, you wouldn’t believe it was her. It’s not believable that this 8 year old girl can sing with this much passion and emotion, totally incredible!

My biggest regret is I won't live long enough to see it. I was fortunate to grow up with the Beatles and everything for the next 30 years. The generation of today will be telling their grandchildren they got to see Angelina from the start! - How fortunate!

When Angelina is so identified with her source of inspiration, she leaves me absolutely amazed, when she performs in this Norwegian festival "Sing-along at the Border", at the Fredriksten fortress at Alden, near the border with Sweden, almost every year, she really gives her best, you see that she has a good feeling with the environment. How is it possible that a little girl (in this case at 8 years old) is so incredibly emotional and talented as a professional singer to completely involve and fascinate the his audience. It's simply fantastic, when she closes her eyes she really seems to be in contact with Dinah Washington. 🤗
Angelina often participates in this event and you will see that there are several of her performances over the years, always beautiful.
There's also this fantastic recording of the 2017 same festival where she's even bubbly and having fun with a Godspell version of Something's Got a Hold On Me.

I, like everyone else is waiting for you to listen to her sing Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT Champions. She recorded it at 13 but the show didn't air until January of this year after she turned 14. Until now, the moment she starts to sing, my eyes start to swell...no, im not a cry baby and i don't experience chills or goosebumps but i can't help my tears overflowing, and i dunno why, i just can't explain the phenomenon. I have seen her rendition of BohRap on got talent and I found too many inconsistencies in her voice, didn't push my button. Curious to see your reaction on that one! 👍
