I bought the MPC One retro in 2021. The size and button layout is PERFECTION. I Threw in a macbook w ableton and a Roland SP404 mk2, and the setup is complete
I see you've done a new vid on the MPC One and initially I was thinking wtf? I enjoy your videos immensely but for the less experienced beatmakers they really are lucky that you do these videos because your portrayal of the various devices is the best I've seen at providing the context for the design and reception. It really is the best version of "Okay, well, what had happened was...". Nick from Sonicstate has been making videos as far back as I remember and he's the only other one who in my book has earned the reputation of having been around and able to give you the real lowdown.
Thanks fam..I really appreciate support..Nick made me buy the Korg Microsampler..the Korg Kaoss Pass 3..the Korg Kaoss Pad Quad..the Beat Step Pro...Gas me buy the Volca Sample ..and im happy I brought them all Lol!!!
I keep going back n forth about whether my on-the-go sampler/seq should be ITB or a hardware unit. I had the Volca Sample (1st gen) and unlike everyone else I really appreciated the analog isolator. Was broke, sold it, since got the PO-35 and however frustrating got some fantastic lofi sampling beats out of it (see my vids). BeatMaker3 is wonderful although Ive still not learned it fully and it only runs on iPad. I could see myself picking up another Volca Sample if cheap enough. I was just getting into making Lo-Fi Hip-Hop music during the middle of the pandemic. At the time, I wanted to get a sampler/drum machine that was affordable and can operate as a standalone and software controller. I bought the MPC One Plus last week to replace my MPC Touch and it's been a perfect replacement and then some. In my case, the One Plus' competition was the Key 37. I came really close but realized I neither have the space nor needed another keyboard
Love the show. The X and the keys have 4GB of RAM. Really unfortunate the memory is not user expandable. And where is the streaming from disk, like the Force has?
love the mpc one ...i used the one+ and its a dope sampler love all standalone gear but the new gen mpcs have best of both worlds daws in a hardwear format they might not have that classic mpc sound but it sounds like a daw u cant dile it in to sound almost like anything u want

it’s crazy because if the MPC One had come out in 2013-2014 i woulda never gotten a 404SX or a MPC 1000, and probably never worked my way up to the S2400 lol. an all in one compact machine that’s essentially Ableton in a box woulda been legendary status a handful of years back in the Renaissance & Touch days. shit it’s still a dope machine today !
Yeah they got the same software..Hardware is different..The older MPCs were the best.. They were made at different times and had different development teams..A whole different os.
There's no competition. The maschine+ is more expensive and doesn't have plugin instruments. Roland gear is always missing one feature or another, but not even the octatrack gives the programmers so much freedom to dream up possibilities for updates because of the ground the hardware covers.
