@@robfus that means you didn't go into the "safe room" area up the stairs behind the guards, and went straight down to the hot labs after being told by the captain that was actually working for Saren(by way of Matriarch Benezia, Liara's mom), who were under orders to eliminate the survivors to "tie up loose ends", because they assumed you died after getting swarmed in the Hot Labs. They were ordered to eliminate you since the Neutron Purge went off, and you obviously DIDN'T die. Sadly, in the case of most players, they were up against a Special Forces soldier that survived impossible odds(in my Shepard's case: Single-Handedly fended off an entire battalion's worth of the worst pirates and slaver scums of the Terminus Systems before reinforcements arrived(War Hero)), and an old veteran Krogan Merc full outta fucks to give. That said, the best course of action is to proceed into the area with the scientists first, and help them with whatever they need, since it provides just a tad bit more EXP, and morality scores(in both Paragon and Renegade), which will be a great help with Fuckin' Jeong's speech check in either Charm or Intimidate on Feros. That, and avoid the Hot Labs altogether until AFTER you've dealt with Benezia(the hot labs are still accessible after exiting the lab, and the exit is at the tram station, with the door to the lifts to your right immediately after exiting)
I watched someone play this series blind and he thought that she meant it like Sheperd was being racist. "Oh I get it, because your Asari I shouldn't have assumed." The youtuber said that right after the dialouge in this clip and quickly backed out the convo. It was funny him thinking that because it actually gives a good reason why she is acting like that under the assumption she was not with the Matriarch and only a cranky scientist survivor that you interrupted mid meditation XD
