So what you are saying is that your family is a team and that's how it's supposed to be :) :) :) it's not about a perfect house, laundry or kids...its about love and you've got it. Looking forward to your next post.

Love that you did this. So tired of all the “influencers” who try to make you believe they do it all alone and manage everything so flawlessly. It’s impossible and it makes people feel inadequate. I know all this and I still sometimes get caught on the trap of “why can’t I do that too?!”

God bless you girl for speaking the truth. My first son. I was a mental wreck! Constantly worrying and checking on him. I wore myself out! Trying to keep a perfect home and happy baby. But by the 3rd, 4th and 5th. It was like "who cares if my home was perfect and if my boys were perfectly clean clothes and were clean themselves". Let them play in the dirt and have fun. I didn't have a dishwasher with them. My boys were assigned chores. Did they do them perfect, did I stress. Heck no. But we made memories of them being creative with their minds. Some people called me Supermom. It hurt my feelings. Because I wasn't. My house wasn't perfect my children didn't look perfect. I just could never understood why some people put labels on other people. You live your life that makes you happy and your family. God bless you and your family.

This video is a year old but I just found it through auto play, such an encouragement. To be 100% honest, I was JUST thinking “dang, I wish I had it together like her!” and then you said “if you have three kids and don’t have the help I have, you’re doing the best you can.” It was so perfect for me. Thanks for being so authentic and honest, you blessed this mama’s heart 💜

An inspiring video. I have one child and I definitely have the "my house needs to be perfect before I leave and before I go to bed" mentality and it's tiring. I need to let stuff go, life's too short! And the kicker is usually no one comes to my house so I'm making it perfect for myself 🤷

Love it Lisa! Thank you for being so real. I have 6 children 13, 12, 10, 8, 3.5 and 3mo an a husband who is an amazing Law Enforcemet Officer and partner of 16 years. People ask me all the time how in the world I get so much done while homeshooling our children as well. We are a team! Everyone works together, even the 3 year old loves to be responsible for things. He puts away his own clothes every morning, makes his bed, and brushes his teeth. Everyone cleans up after every meal (no dishwasher here either) and it's quick! Minimalizing and decluttering has helped so much! We live in town, but have farm hearts as we have 4 laying hens out back, 10 chicks, and 7 baby ducks! Love my life too and so thankful to the Lord for it!

    Hello!
I'm also a homeschooling mom with 5 children (1yr old -11years old). I'm constantly trying to keep my house, all floors, clean, tidy and clutter free! I do have the help of my older kids, but not as much because I like to do things a certain way.
Watching this has made me realize... I need to let some things go and enjoy life a lot more and not worry so much about some things.
My husband is a great help when he gets home from work and at least once a week I have a mom's night out. We also try to go out on a date once a month, which is much needed! 😊
Thank you sooo much for sharing this video!

I was the oldest of seven. Being that I am an introvert who needs more downtime, I ended up feeling burned out before I had my own children. There are many positives 2 the first two oldest having responsibility. But I also think it depends upon the personality of the child and what they can or cannot handle. Also, the middle children felt left by the wayside. But that is just my personal experience. I am saying this to encourage all you young mothers out there that while children are young you might not notice how they are feeling, especially if they are introverts. My own personality takes on too much responsibility. I don't know how you work this all out , but my mom didn't have half the things going on that you do. I pray this all goes well for you all and listen to my story and possibly learn something. I come to this website because it was my dream to raise my children this way. The dream of every child oh, I think, is to live on a farmstead like yours with a huge swing hanging from a big old oak tree. A garden, some animals, a stream nearby for fishing etc etc. Unfortunately, we did not have the money. But I also love your recipes and lifestyle so we'll continue just stop by now and then.

This video honestly made me tear up 😅 in a good way! I know a lot of moms of 4+ kids on Instagram and in real life that make it seem like they just have it all together and it has made me feel like I’m a horrible mom cause having a toddler and a baby is so hard 😭 I really appreciate your transparency and honesty. You have really inspired me to try to deal with some of the “mental clutter” and perfectionism I deal with that definitely adds a lot of stress to my life. Also I have never thought about how having older kids could make some tasks/daily stuff easier so that gives me a lot of hope for the future ☺️

My husband and I run our business together as well from home with 2 kids under 3 and no childcare help or family nearby and sometimes it's easy to compare to other content creators and feel like it's just impossible to keep up and do it all! It's so refreshing when mamas are honest about how they do it! I definitely can relate to how much more laid back / confident I've become as a mom with number 2 so I can see how the more you have the more it goes that way! Appreciate you making this content and your honesty! xx

I love the fact that you’re so honest. I feel that the perfect media out there has put such pressure on young moms that they will never be able to measure up. We need more of this. What we really look like, from Pinterest, to RUclips and Instagram. A woman is only one person and her work is never done from sunrise to sunset she is constantly going and never measuring up to the perfect media. People need to realize life is not perfect and it SELDOM turns out the way we want it to.

RUclipsrs are the new celebs. And our culture not only loves (and, at times, hates) its celebs, but also elevates them to an unreal status. People seem to still think that "stardom" and money equal a happy, carefree life. (I have never understood this, when there is soooo much evidence to the contrary.) People get this unrealistic view of people who they observe from afar. It really has very little to do with true life. It can be a movie star, anyone on tv or the internet, anyone in politics or the pulpit, or even the "together-seeming" nextdoor neighbors. Thank you for your honesty, and I can appreciate your discomfort over being perceived as some icon, but don't be surprised if the misconceptions persist. It's kinda funny, in a not-funny way, that we idolize people to torment ourselves! We all need a lot of prayer! Keep loving those babies - you have beautiful children! ❤️😘

This was so refreshing! I’ve got 4 kids- age 8 down to 1 year and it’s very true that letting go of that perfection makes life easier. (And better!) “ I can’t so I don’t.” A great reminder that by not focusing on ALL the things, we can do the most important things.

I love how being a mom of many just makes you more efficient then a mom of one ! I am having my third here soon and I can see this happening in myself! Thanks Lisa! Hope your feeling well! Love your videos and excited for your book!!!!

Wow this video has been so refreshing to me. I'm pregnant with my first, due in July. I've been a nanny for little ones, so I am so used to the perfectionism of making a house look perfect at the end of the day. It is in my nature to do that, and I love how realistic this video is to reality. I appreciate the rawness and imperfection that you share with those watching.

My new favorite video now. Thanks for being so blunt and sincere. It’s always so comforting when us moms share real stories of everyday family life. I actually figured this was exactly how the video was going to go because of me and my 3 kids with a family business and us waiting to move into our country home but having other moms reminding us they’re crazy busy too is a special treat.

I must have watched this video about 4 times just trying to let all of this sink in! I fully appreciate it bc i naturally stress over everything that goes on in my head when in reality it could be much simpler. I am of mom of one but even so, i still let life get me in a craze just worrying and pressuring myself. I love your approach on life and thank you sharing!

Focusing on the health of your family which you clearly do, loving the kids and allowing them to learn without judgment, is sooooo much better than a made bed and dusted furniture. Kudos for knowing what's important.

Wonderful, Lisa! I have been watching you for almost two years and I am so grateful for you and feel proud that I have been able to see especially how you have been able to continue to grow in your business. You are authentic. Your channel is beautiful which can make it seem like you have a perfect life. Now I can say with confidence this beauty comes from caring about your work.
It is evident by the types of projects you choose to take on that you have a strong work ethic. Given this video, I understand your greater strength: you have had the wisdom to receive help in ways that allow you to continue to grow. You have accepted the good and real in place of some unattainable imaginings. In my admiration of you and your family, there were times when I felt inadequate especially when I see how much you get done. I only have one little one at home and I feel like I am constantly in survival mode.
From this video, I know I have a lot of things to work on within myself in order to find and maintain peace. I struggle with serious perfectionism, with wanting everything done my way, with trying to control things I cannot control, and in needless stressing and worrying. I am reminded of these weaknesses, but you were able to overcome some of these things too! It gives me hope that I can and my children can help me heal if I let them.
Thank you for being open about breastfeeding your little one, especially with how it looks in your life and how it's not necessarily the way all the books recommend. It really helps me to be more relaxed about how imperfect it all has been for us. My daughter has the same night needs as your son and I let that stress really affect me. In these talk videos I get to catch a couple of glimpses into your other life choices which make me admire you so much more: baby-led weaning, choosing stainless steel/silicone, and a minimalism that is more free from pressures (like things everyone else tells us our children need, I'm thinking of the time you got rid of the children's kitchen because it wasn't worth it).
Currently, I am realizing I don't want toxic items in my home also I'm discovering parenting methodologies I want to use to raise my children. Hopefully after laying this foundation, these current time-consuming tasks can be on auto-pilot so I can be more peaceful and focus on more creative endeavors like you have been able to. Prayers for you and your family.

Just found your channel and love it! I completely agree with this video. I'm in your shoes now with moving onto 10 acres to hopefully homestead, remodeling, have 7 children, homeschool, cook a lot from scratch. One thing I'm looking to do is cook healthier more consistently and you're inspiring. Thank you for being real!

I love this! You are always so real and honest. I’ve commented on you being a super mom or to that effect before, but it was by no means to undermine that you have an equal partner who helps you, and you help help him. I just admire you and all that you do. You are an inspiration.

I’m glad you cleared things up! I’m glad to hear everything you shared in this video. Motherhood can be so lonely and confusing at times. Especially when you look to Facebook, youtube etc. and you see someone “doing it all,” you feel you should be able to also. Even when I know I’m seeing the “highlight” reel I still trick myself into thinking it’s always like that for them. So, thank you so much for sharing.
