Funny thing is a recent study showed that red meat doesn't cause these negative effects and thats it's rather a byproduct of not eating enough vegetables
Turkey is incredibly healthy for high protein content and naturally grows from large birds. It's also dry and mostly tasteless due to the lack of fat. The moment someone invented a way to farm chicken efficiently, turkey went on the forgotten lists of meat that only comes out for traditions like Thanksgiving and Christmas, still demanding large amounts of basting, stuffing and sauces to make palatable. Red meat goes even futhur, having even more fat in it's minced form which produce soft juicy burgers.
Man. The fact that it's a simple hamburger, makes me think of the county fair I went to as a kid, even their simple hamburgers were so satisfying, and had such a deep and rich flavor to them.

I'm forever grateful to this show and specifically this episode for being the starting point for Binging With Babish. It was the perfect first episode to fully encapsulate what the channel was all about.
1:10 Andy's face kills every single time
Chris is genuinely such a nice guy. We can all only hope to have a Chris in our lives.
I felt the same until he tries Leslie at the court. That was unnecessary and brutal.
don’t hope to have someone like him in your life, be that someone and you’ll attract likeminded people
I love turkey burgers, but the results of this contest were accurately portrayed. ☺
“What do I get if I win?”
“The rarest jewel of all, victory over me, Ron Swanson.”
I'm just now noticing the elaborate way Andy eats every bit of the burger, scarfs the last bits like a baby bird, and then camera cut back and he's got another hamburger. I like to think he grabbed another one in that split second.
The way he went "This is better" immediately after tasting the burger was really funny
"Ron, I'm so disappointed, I thought that you and I would have a real challenge" - Ron, to himself : "So did I"
2:01 Andy's face when he hears Donna has a sharp palate
As a vegetarian, this scene is amazing. Veggie burgers always challenge you to get creative with how you flavor them, which can result in some amazing burgers. But there is absolutely no arguing the wonderful flavor of even just plain beef.
The beef isn't doing any artery clogging either here, the grains and plant oils probably contribute way more to cvd.
@@tylerwmbassBingo!
Rob Lowe needs to do more comedy roles lol,his timing and delivery with "This is better" was perfection lol.
the legend goes they've become a couple and lived together for 20 years
After going "off the grid" and changing their names...
Chris’ Turkey burger was the only time he was eating something that sounded pretty good.
I haven’t watched the show, I actually recognized Ron from
“The Founder” a movie telling the story how McDonald’s was founded and he played as one of the owners of the original restaurant before McDonald’s became a franchise so no wonder he won.
Ron's definition of a turkey burger is something I'd like to see happen
Kyle: “I love the Umami flavor.”
Jerry: “Stop being so pretentious Kyle.”
For the 4th of July I went to Smart and Final and bought a few pounds of 80/20 ground beef. Picked up the generic buns and American cheese slices. Kept it simple with lettuce, tomato and pickles as toppings along with ketchup and mustard. Cooked em on my blackstone grill. Everyone in the family went nuts and loved the burgers. People lined up for seconds and thirds. I felt like I did Ron proud that day.
Fastest admission of defeat on TV history
Ron Swanson is a personality that I wish I could channel in many facets of my life. Stubborn masculinity that you can only watch in awe and be impressed by. He is arrogant... but never wrong, because he always knows what he is talking about, and if he doesn't... he attempts to learn... how else can he know his enemy.
Bill and Frank
Funny thing is a recent study showed that red meat doesn't cause these negative effects and thats it's rather a byproduct of not eating enough vegetables
"This is better"
The feel of defeat yet acceptance is impressive
2:53 I mimmick his expression and the way he gestures with the burger whenever I try a new food
When she said "that's my husband" I got a little aroused 🤣🤣🤣
If food wars has taught me anything, the first guy to serve his dish always loses.
the "thats my husband" line was hilarious
Yet again, we see Andy has the literal intellect level and outlook of a golden retriever.
"Did you get his number?"
"No."
"Good girl."
"Turkey can never beat cow" words I live by when grilling.
2:07 my favorite Jerry moment
Turkey is incredibly healthy for high protein content and naturally grows from large birds. It's also dry and mostly tasteless due to the lack of fat. The moment someone invented a way to farm chicken efficiently, turkey went on the forgotten lists of meat that only comes out for traditions like Thanksgiving and Christmas, still demanding large amounts of basting, stuffing and sauces to make palatable. Red meat goes even futhur, having even more fat in it's minced form which produce soft juicy burgers.
I eat turkey at least once a week.
Man. The fact that it's a simple hamburger, makes me think of the county fair I went to as a kid, even their simple hamburgers were so satisfying, and had such a deep and rich flavor to them.
Even Jerry bullies poor Kyle LMAO
I know one thing that can conquer Ron’s burger. A hamburger made with Bison.
Try bear

he didnt even hesitate or swallow, immediate american approval
Andy (well, Chris P) legendarily finishes his hamburger at 2:49 (by discretely throwing some away) ...... but the crew didn't have enough footage of Chris just standing around at 2:52 so they had to put shots of him with the burger back in.
Gosh how I wish they discussed this more and had Andy devour a burger in about 2 whole seconds ahaha.
0:49 this is why I like Chris. Literally gets nothing if he wins
Can we just take a moment to respect how quickly Andy devours that burger? XD
I come back to this video occasionally and just noticed something. 01:40 Chris serves everyone his Turkey burger and then Ron does the same with his beef burger. Andy never ate the turkey burger but does take a bite (many bites) of the beef burger and exclaims..."Oh my god, this is so much better".
0:33 I love me some Ron Swanson but turkey burgers are delicious.
Ron Swanson... the Statesman we ALL need in Government.
1:48 Donna seems to be really attracted to Chris 😇
Everyone is. Lol. Even Leslie was taken in by his energy when they first met.
The discontinuity of how much burger chris pratt is holding kills me in this otherwise perfect scene.
I freaking love Chris in this show, just fantastic characterization. Same with Ron but that's more just the actor in real life hahah
Fair to say that Ron won because he had over 70 years of experience in the hamburger business.
Beef doesn’t clog arteries. Grains/sugars do though. Ron’s burger without the bun is healthier than Chris’s with the bun
And that is why the sun and the moon hold their own spaces, but they do work together here and there.
I think about the moment Ron serves a plain hamburger on a bun to win the cook-off almost daily.
Parks and Rec is great because even when the characters, who are complete opposites, have conflict you still love them all like family.
And they love each other! So much this
