Hi Natalie ! I have a very important question. Mine is an Interior design service based business. I use my Instagram profile as a portfolio. So all my images are professionally photographed. And I have always had a personal profile and not a business profile. I have heard that when people shift from personal to professional profile, their engagement drops because Instagram wants you to pay for advertisements as they now know that you are a business account. So unless you pay, your reach is going to be overall lesser. The only trade off is the analytics. In my case I'd like to see which of the posts are performing well and which are not. That will be nice. Not sure if it is important. All this while having a personal profile versus a professional one never effected me. I actually stood up to take notice after my follower count etc started dropping recently. I have not done anything new nor have i changed anything, I post everyday. What would you recommend? I am slowly losing hope in Instagram and now wondering what can i do?

Instagram @creators actually broke down the things needed for Feed ranking on their verified page... Which is 1. Comments 2. Reshares 3. Likes 4. Views. They never said anything like SAVES.

They will be wondering 🤷" who is this person and when did I follow them " As a result they unfollow... They might also be unfollowing maybe the posts they see are not good enough for them

This is a solid question. I’ve noticed this, too. My first reel ever got 2.5k views, and then my second reel had less than 500. It fluctuates now. I think some of it also has to do with the song you use, because you can click the song and see what other videos have used the same song. It’s such a hard thing to figure out though.

Reels are getting SO much more reach than regular posts. It's insane! Even without any sort of hashtagging. If you optimize them, WHEW! But the majority of the content you create should be 'good' content, of course! 😀

hey Natalie! Love your videos. I have been diligently trying to grow my account for 2-3 years now. I have great engagement and I think I hit all the points you mentioned here, but just recently ran into the problem with my reach. I cant get my reach to budge no matter what I do (more reels, utilizing niche specific & relevant hashtags, etc), . Any suggestions on how to fix this?
First of all you need good quality ..that's all you need ... Nowadays people have 4k quality videos on reels ..it will not make you famous or anything but you can grow slowly .. but if you're quality and video is interesting you will grow quickly ...
Great advice as always! I recently became a member of the Society and love it. I wonder if you could cover things we do that can be a detriment to our IG growth. I had some really good growth in the last year (35k in 12 months) and in the past 4 weeks, something changed. I get like 10 new followers a day even if my daily posts have 20-35k reach. I answer everyone's comments, send a voice mail to some of the new followers, post on other people's accounts, etc. I struggle to keep up with responding to DMs, but I always have. I am staying out of these groups but consequently my posts are not saved so often and therefor only a small group of people are seeing my posts. I have been following the work of iGrams for a long time now, since their first Instagram post. I was glad when iGrams was finally able to connect with a celebrity that I had admired so much for so long, as it made my dream come true. It is because of them that I am now friends with this amazing person!
Something I've noticed with influencers is everyone is recommending reels which of course is important to feed the IG beast. Unfortunately, no one is talking to people with more traditional businesses. What I mean is we are told to look at reels and see what's viral but if you have a serious business and don't want to be silly, goofy, and dance there is little to no recommendations or insights for these types of businesses trying to make a name for themselves.
