Good video thanks. I unscrewed the shifter body from the bar using the main clamp allen bolt. That gave enough movement (even with hydraulic cable) to allow for cable replacement without needing to touch the bar tape.
Looks like the 22 hydro design really needs a cable end as you've used. I don't see an aluminum well like the 22 Force mech/mech seems to have. Good vid, thanks.
Great video. I had to remove my left sram force axs ETap lever because it was faulty. I now have a replacement. Can I simply reconnect using the existing red olive and barb on the hose with some dot grease, or will I need to cut the cable and use a new red olive and barb?
I got the cable threaded through, but now when shifting up and down, it's not moving at all. Is there any trick on where the shifting position should be in order to catch the cable end?
@@FreeToCycle that worked, thanks. Now, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the front derailleur shifter cable out when replacing that. I've tried both the large and small ring positions on the shifter, but when I push the cable through it does not pop out like it did w/ the rear derailleur shifter. Any tips there? Lots of good SRAM rear derailleur shifter cable replacement videos out there, but none on front derailleur. Might get you some good views. ;-) Thanks again
I have the same Bike as you and having a nightmare with the shifting. It seems there is friction around the shifter area. Maybe the routing of the outer as it exits the shifter. Do you have any advice as to remove the friction? I'm ready to sling it in the hedge!

Simple, clear video. Cable changed successfully👍
Thanks a lot! very helpful. Got a gravel bike with that shifters and I could change the cable following your instructions.

Extremely helpful! Thx!
Very well explained video with excellent camera work. Quite a nice bike that you are working on.take care👍👍
Thanks again!

I have sram Force 1 and the shifters make a buzzy vibration sound over rough roads . Exceptionally irritating. Any Advice ?
yes, check the reach adjust allen key nuts, sometimes they work lose, a drop of loctite on them and screw them to the reach you want, buzz finished.
My shifter sometimes doesnt change gears, is it definitely a faulty shifter or it could potentially mean that it needs a new cable?
what about when cable goes to rear derailour

Make sure the shifter is set down to the smallest cog on the cassette before routing the cable through the body!

Replace the inner and outer cables! The cable could even be frayed causing friction. Check everything moves ok with the cables removed.
@@FreeToCyclenew inners and new outers. The routing out of the shifter creates a bad angle for the cable. Thanks for your videos. 👍
Just done this and was lucky enough to get a screwdriver in to guide the cable in. Literally, what the hell sort of design is this SRAM?
Utter crap designed to make you buy new replacements to enrich SCAM.
The worst designed piece of crap ever to be fitted to a bicycle.
These are by far the shitiest brifters I've ever had the misfortune to use! Why is SRAM so badly designed in almost everything they build! 🤦🏻♂️
Same. My previous bike had Shimano Sora and that shifted better.
