Don Felder used to hang out at the home of Duane & Greg Allman when they still lived in the Dayton Beach area when they were a bit younger during their Allman Joys period, just prior to their moving to Macon, Georgia and eventually assembling the group of musicians that would soon become the Allman Brothers Band. Felder credits Duane Allman as having taught him how to play slide guitar during that period of hanging out at the Allman household in Dayton Beach, Florida.
