  • The HotStart Challenger 650 (CL650) is by far the most complex, study level and advanced addon ever developed for flight simulation. In this X-Plane 12 live stream, we the Challenger for a full flight from Aberdeen to Gatwick in the United Kindgdom showing off the great features and depth of systems simulation. We will also be using SayIntentions AI, the most advanced, unscripted, and dynamic ATC for X-Plane and MSFS.

    My New Year resolution is to learn this beast CL650. The experience so far has been amazing and rewarding. I am almost there feeling as comfortable fly this as flying Zibo/ToLiss.

    Thanks for this great stream Q8, and a very nice landing after that difficult go-around. This is one serious aircraft to learn the intricacies of, as I'm mainly into airliners I'll probably pas, although the systems depth and study possibilities are really attractive. Again a big thank you, blue skies

    Nice video as usual Q8 Pilot! I love this bird, however I'm so used to fly aircrafts with the option Wear & Tear//Failures/Maintenance in order to feel them alive as the amazing FFB772 or GA REP/Simcoders so that this great Challenger is most of the time in my hangar, I'm aware that it could feel very reductive for such a complex addon so well done but I really like to care about wear and tear in my checklists and even maintenance as much as I did in RL ... Before buying the addon I had no doubt that those features were implemented especially for this price, but they didn't add them as they did for the TBM ... But see after watching your video, I'm creating a flight from Nice LFMN where this beautiful plane is parked since 3 months taking dust (which she doesn't deserve) , sure still always a pleasure to fly her anyways even if it is a brand new bird after each flight!
    Happy Flying & Happy New Year Captain!

      The philosophy between the TBM and the CL650 is different. For the TBM you are owner operator, for the CL650 you are the hired help. Failures are present, some states are persistent. If you use career mode it is certainly not brand new.

    • @lknfly1166
      @lknfly1166 Месяц назад

      @@Prefect99 Thank you for your rectification about the persistence, indeed just "some states"... which is still something and not really a brand new plane after each flight, you're right...
      I understand the comparison you mentioned between the TBM (owner op) and the CL650 and I can even join you to go futher somehow, in other words: if we fly the FF B772 then Flight Factor or FlyJsim and other devs (REP/Simcoders) do not need to add Wear & Tear/Maintenance features under your perspective because we are just "pilots" hired by the virtual airlines and not the AMT anyways. Indeed I've never done the maintenance of the birds I've rent and fly in real but for the simulator, it's an other dimension and it is just so much immersive with those features! But it's ok, HotStar do a fantastic job in terms of realism/systems/FM and so on, no doubt, the devs are very inspired and creative, the CL650 is highly recommended as deserved and as mentioned @Q8Pilot. It is also a "book" of learning, so many informations and visual ones provided by HotStar for this CL650, the inspiration of the devs is very professional, impressive! ... so that my post has no intention to put some shadow on this amazing addon!
      Can't wait for the next XP12 TBM update by the way!
      Beautiful Skies Ahead with HotStar on board!

      Very different aircraft, can’t compare them. If you are referring to depth of simulation only, the Challenger is far more in depth.

    For me, I would not buy anything from Hotstart. Still waiting for XP12 version of the TBM that was advertised as will be XP 12 compatible (when stable) when I bought it 4 years ago. XP 12 has been stable for over a year, and hard to get much info about progress! Buyer beware.

      @@JeffEngle_rvbuiltfortwo Actually, you bought it two years before we ever advertised a free update to purchasers on the product page. This is not a true comment, as even X-Plane 12 was not a thought yet for us developers.

    Disappointing to see the checks rushed. They're designed as read-and-do rather than flows. I hope SI develops some bizjet focus for their cabin crew.

      I have done many streams with full checklists so it’s ok to skip a few in the interest of time. Thanks for watching.

    • @Prefect99
      @Prefect99 Месяц назад

      @@Q8Pilot I disagree, it was quite a mess. Some examples from memory; SPD not set on departure as the TOGA PFD check was not carried out, delayed flap up after departure. While it is perfectly possible to skip some of the longer first flight of the day checks more critical operational ones were missed. Virtual Toto FO wasn't best used. More haste, less speed.
