They built a taco Hell down the street from me. It’s been there for approximately a year and a half or two years. I’ve been in there less than a handful of times 😅.
I don’t know if you take requests but Popeyes just re-released their Cajun rice which they never should’ve gotten rid of in the first place. Supposedly for a limited time. Still tastes great but I used to get a large Cajun rice for 3.99 Plus tax. Went to get their chicken special and a large Cajun rice recently and was absolutely shocked to see that they raised the price to 6.09 plus tax (some stores are a bit less but not much) for a large Cajun rice. And they also had the nerve to shrink the size of the large container. All of their large sides were this outrageous price.
Anyway I would love to see a review. Keep up the good work.

This really resonated with me. When I was a line cook making min wage I used to have to debate with myself whether I should eat out or order in as a treat once in a blue moon. When I had a bad experience it put the most sour taste in my mouth and I felt like and idiot for spending the money.

    • @SsnakeBite
      @SsnakeBite 2 года назад +38

He's right too. Cheap shouldn't have to mean low-quality. I mean, if people are spending the extra money to have you make a meal for you instead of doing it themselves, surely you should give them something that's in some way better than what they could make, or at least something special that they can't find anywhere else. I took one look at that taco and thought "yup, even for that money, I could probably buy the ingredients and do better myself".

As an employee of Taco Bell, you have no idea.
Every few months, or even weeks, Taco Bell hits us with a training video of a "new" item that is a poorly executed, recycled version of an older item. On the flipside, when they re-release old items, they're not the same as they used to be.
And as workers, we have to be the ones to deal with the anger from customers, the poorer and poorer quality ingredients we're given, and the mindbogglingly ignorant corporate decisions.
I'm gonna go ahead and take responsibility for the puffy flatbreads never making a return, because I found metal bits in them, which lead to at least our entire region cutting them. Taco Bell then came up with some other excuse for why they're not coming back, but hi hello, it was me. You're welcome.
ANYWAY, ROTW, your T Bell videos always have me screaming internally. Having said that, keep doing what you're doing.

A frozen chicken strip, sketchy lettuce, generic ranch, nearly expired tortillas, and a pinch of cheese from the big bag of sharp cheddar that’s always in my fridge. few months back I ordered taco bell on door dash, didn't realize it was memorial day, a little while later driver contacts me saying taco bell took an order for over 100 tacos and wouldn't be filling any other customers orders till this order was done, it was going to be at least an hour before they would even fill my order. driver asked if I wanted to cancel my order, I had to confer with other members in my family so I said I would call back.
The driver cancelled anyway, so I got a new driver, explained the situation to that driver and told them to cancel, so I got assigned to a third driver. tried to cancel my order but it wouldn't let me because the driver was already at taco bell. Had to contact support to get my order cancelled and a refund. Then put an order in at chipotle and had to wait another 30 minutes for food.
In general my taco bell is slow too, consistently takes over 20 minutes after ordered is placed, when they aren't even busy, for me or doordash driver to receive food. No way it takes that long to throw the same couple ingredients in different tortillas and package it up.

Mostly speaking, reused oil (especially those used only within a day or half-day) shouldn't affect the taste drastically especially if the oil fryer is only used for frying a single item but "dirty" oil is a different beast since to get "that" kind of oil you'd have to constantly reuse oil on a bunch of different items and overcooking some of them over a long period of time

When I worked at taco bell back in like 2013, they had just started selling something similar(can't rememeber the name). Well, the chicken expired and the manager yelled at me for throwing it away. She picked it outta the trash and showed me that nothin was wrong with it even tho it was expired. That's probably why the chickens always spongey. Fried items a lot of times get held past expiration times so they don't have to fry new ones and can get orders out so they meet their speed and don't get in trouble by corporate.

The only item I know of that he's rated lower is the KFC Beyond Chicken Nuggets with a 0.5/10--and that was because they were literally inedible. But he did say they at least tasted okay. I shudder to think of what crime against food a restaurant would need to release for ReviewBrah to give it a fat goose egg. Would it have to be infested with maggots and taste like literal vomit? Would it have to give him food poisoning? Would it be a lump of coal in a box that the restaurant is selling as food?

It could've been the specific place and prep though. With imitation meat you have to prepare it exactly as it's supposed to be, and if you slightly overcook it its not noticeable but if you undercook even a little it's a lump of sawdust.

The piece of chicken I got on the one you are reviewing was about half the size you have, and the one you have fills maybe half the taco shell. The chipotle one that I assume never came to market, had a thick mayo based sauce that was beyond weird tasting with the seasoning already on the little chicken nugget. I gave both a bad review, took my $125 for the study, and never looked back. I figured there is no way Taco Bell would be dumb enough to try and sell this nationwide. Alas, I was proven wrong.

Just wanted to say, I'm from NY (NYC suburb area) and I've had an identical experience to yours. I had tried it upon it's initial release and I LOVED it. It put me in mind of when KFC used to make those Twister wraps in the 90's. (That was chicken tenders, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and I believe either ranch or BBQ sauce was an option). So I felt like Taco Bell was giving me that nostalgia of a past favorite menu item. When Taco Bell first discontinued the Cantina Crispy Chicken Tacos, I had the idea to get KFC chicken tenders and re-create the Twister wraps myself at home. I'm mentioning this about the homemade Twister wraps because they recently reintroduced the Cantina Crispy Chicken tacos here and every thing you mentioned is on point with my personal experience of them. The chicken tastes OFF, seems incredibly greasy compared to when I first tried it, and that greasyness seeps into the rest of the Taco ingredients and just makes me feel queasy eating it. From now on I will simply continue making homemade Twister wraps (despite the extra steps of going to the grocery store, prepping the ingredients, and the added expense overall) and I will NEVER order the Cantina Crispy Chicken Taco from Taco Bell AGAIN.

All that Taco Bell was really ever okay for was their original Crunchy Taco with some of their hot sauce. And when their famous Mexican Pizza first came out, it was actually good. But now, their quality and service are so bad I won't even bother going there more than once every 4-5 years or so.

I agree with you completely. All I ever get there are the basic crunchy taco. Getting pricey as the ingredients are rather skimpy. 4 costs over $7.00. I loved the old enchirito but of course they took it off the menu.

I've eat at Taco Bell just 2 times.
The 1st time it was cheap and good, like, really good.
The 2nd time it was disgusting, almost makes me puke, and when I was paying with my card the cashier told me 2 times the transaction failed, and it worked the 3rd time, it was a lie, by the end of the month I saw my transactions over said month and I saw they charged me 3 different times for the same product, same amount of money, only seconds apart between each transaction.
Taco Bell is a total scam, never again.

    • @BlahStoolSampleBlah

Next time your told you have any failed transactions you should check with your bank ASAP and have them reverse the charges if the failed transactions actually went through so you can get your money back.

Just a couple weeks ago I was having Taco Bell breakfast. I had finished one item and was moving onto the next and as I was doing this I said to my wife - "Ya know - Taco Bell doesn't get enough credit for their breakfast, it's so good!". Right after these words left my mouth I took a bit of my burrito and my mouth was filled with the unmistakable taste of bleach. Needless to say I immediately spit this out. I sniffed the food and could not detect any odor of it. So, against my better judgement, I took another tiny bite - yep, there was definitely something giving the flavor of bleach throughout. I dunno what it was. Not sure I want to know. I ended up being fine but could definitely taste it the rest of the day and my tongue felt strange for some time after. I was someone who would defend Taco Bell to everyone who said negative stuff about it - or at least pipe in and say that I actually love them. Now - I'm kind of put off from the whole establishment and don't want it anymore at all.

They recently brought Taco Bell to my hometown in Australia and I was so excited to try it as I've seen it on American television for years and heard people talking about it. Needless to say I could not believe the horrendous slop that was served to me. I am absolutely amazed it ever passed the test for human consumption. Also, after I had finished eating said garbage I immediately felt sick and buckled over in pain before disrespecting the lavatory in spectacular fashion.

I can imagine that when you haven't had this franchise in your life long enough to build up some minimal level of tolerance or immunity or whatever, it would hit you like the plague. I have a reasonably strong stomach, and yet TB food (which I might encounter once in 5 years, if that) will inevitably produce that lavatory reaction. Maybe it has some utility as a colonoscopy prep "clean out" substance?
