I actually do like this and appreciate the honesty instead of burying it in transaction charges. As mentioned in another comment, I also expect UT to expand alternate venue opportunities, especially for families, to be a part of Vols traditions. Take the jumbo screen watch parties outside the stadiums to another level for those who can’t afford the ticket price. It may also be time to build another deck.

@@pnut3844able ......right......
This is the price for being competitive in this CFB environment. I can’t say I love it, but I think Danny is doing what needs to be done to get UT ahead. Such is life 🤷🏻♂️
He just admitted that UT AD embraces the end to amateur sports. The media companies and the sponsors are pushing this. Why should they not pay for this. UT is a public university folks.
What do ya do when ya start losing games lmfao
Win the next one
If you are going to charge us season ticket holders a talent fee you better win a title. Im a long time fan and season ticket holder but its time to move the ball.
I think many will agree
They’re going to eventually rebrand all the stadiums with lame corporate names as well, in order to get the corporate sponsorship money. Mark my words on that. Citibank Neyland Stadium or Equifax Bryant-Denny sound pretty terrible to you? Too bad cause you’re gonna get something like that. I was all for letting players sell their autographs or whatever but college football will become NFL Lite now. A lot of us prefer actually college ball over the NFL. I’m not even being dramatic or whining when I say this, but NIL happened at a time when my interest was already waning after watching college football for 40 years, and it’s eventually going to kill off my interest completely. If I wanted to watch pro ball I’d watch the NFL.
💯
Tampax Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
If Tennessee isnt careful they are going to price there way right out of the main group of there fanbase. Which is working people putting what they can into it now as it is.
That is what's going to happen. This is only going to go up, they want to be one of the biggest spenders and they're not going to let it come from their own profits. We'll get a better product but a lot of the people who stuck with the team during the rough years will barely be going to games in the future.
Uhhh, gentlemen there are more than 15k waiting on season tickets. Price out their fan base or better said out of the market? Since the Dooley era we’ve been over paying imho. It’s like hunting, big time college anything including football hasn’t been affordable for the middle and lower classes for decades.
Their not there. Our fanbase doesnt make that mistake.
Corporations keep finding new ways to bleed their customer base. Go Vols.
Comparing UT to a traditional business is the hallmark of the ignorant.
@@BlindVeganRescue Name calling, eh? Please tell me how a major university is unlike a "traditional business". Do they provide goods or services in exchange for money? Do they have a board of directors? Do they pay their employees? With the exception of paying taxes and maybe having shareholders I'm seeing very little difference. Go Vols.
@@TilsonInstitute because it is an emotive generational product entrenched in a land grant flagship state school.
@@BlindVeganRescue Word salad, vetard.
You've priced yourself out of the pocket of a lot of fans. And now you're saying the fan can add a "gratuity" onto their ticket for the student in athlete. I love UT and am a solid VOLS fan. If I could I would buy tickets to all the baseball, Football, basketball, and Softball games! GBO
Please give to the door knob fund because our 60 million a year in tv money and millions made off the game isn’t enough 🤨
They make a lot more than that off of all things releated to UT Football.
@@a-fox yea, it’s absolutely ridiculous! And why do they need extra money to pay these players? Next year there is a 20 million dollar cap that there isn’t this year. So why in the world does the fans need to pay more to the door knob fund. It’s BS!
Do you want to beat bama and georgia or not?
@@5.Star.Hearts.because thats how college sports work. Forever. The fans 100% pay for it. Where ya been?
@@BlindVeganRescue yup sure do want to beat bama. I was at the game in 22 when we beat bama. And we did it without a talent fee added to our ticket price. Georgia and Alabama are not getting the players they get because they pay the most money for them. I think you are the one who doesn’t understand how the world of college football works guy
As a long time Vols fan. Traveling out of state to come to these games for the school I love but man this is so disappointing knowing family with everything going up that it’s hard to pay the prices for tickets to take your kids too. So now tickets will be way too expensive. Not cool Mr. white
The "Danny Tax".... First thing from Danny I'm not a fan off... The fan keeps taking the hit...
Lol I love most of what Danny White is doing. I dont particularly love this, I understand it but I dont love it. The option to add a tip on top of the final sale price is NUTS lol.
Already have many fans donating to Vol Club... Prolly see less donations now
won't be long until you have to pay a fee to watch a game on tv. every game
Won’t break my heart. Don’t need to pay that much to watch…sports.
You do its called youtube tv
I mean a bad ticket to a so so game at Neyland is between 450 and 550. Instead of cutting into our pockets why dont you cut into yours and keep prices the same and then give them 10%. Its all about money now
Since when has NCAA football not been about money? Do you buy into the student athlete commercials?
No bad ticket to a soso game is 500 uou just totally made that up.
The NFL needs to shut this down, because when the next CBA comes out this will be in it.
i hate to raise prices on the fans who are the only reason I have a job, but that $2.75m salary for sending emails about positivity aren't gonna send themselves!
Not a fan of this decision!!!
Things are already expensive and getting more expensive!!!
Id love to take my family to a game, but we already cant be affording $350+ per ticket!
Go find the money to pay our boys another way!!
Bad decision IMHO, not against it principally, but I already struggled to go to games, haven't been since my Dad passed in 2015. Guess I will just invest in my grill and watch from HOME.
i thought nil came from donars
Nobody will embrace it. They will still buy the tickets because of the product on the field and the love for the team, but no one i've ever met will embrace getting fleeced to watch a football game. It's pandoras box is what it is. The ledgers red because of all the millions being spent to have great sports teams and now just as in government the cost is coming back to the people.
Well you can see the school is not going to give up any of that TV money they been getting… The school is just going to let the fans pay for it… They Think… This will not end well…
Clearly you don’t know the Tennessee fanbase AT ALL! 😂
It will actually. People will keep paying, especially if they win. Which if they spend a lot, they probably will. That's the plan. People always say that about in demand sporting events like the NFL when teams raise the prices almost every year but they still fill all the seats consistently.
The fans are the school dude. Its not like UT is walmart and the fans are customers.
Anyone with your view point never went to and grew up supporting a school. You reek of casual to be honest.
This guy loves himself
We are witnessing the death of the Tennessee athletics programs
More than 15k on a season ticket waiting list, I think not. All major UT sports have sold out seasons. What Ut needs to do is find and develop and redefine inexpensive opportunities for fans, especially families, to enjoy the environment outside their venues. Make it unique.
The exact opposite.
Go vols 🍊🍊🍊🏈🏈🏈
All major schools are sure to follow in this path … Tennessee has been ahead of the game when it comes to NIL
Many schools are already doing it by burying within the ticket or transaction prices. I appreciate the Athletic Dept being honest.
All the people saying theyre priced out now are the same ones who order their steaks well done with Ketchup at the chapman highway shoneys.
he acts like everybody wants this.not
To all the fans complaining....are you happy with the success??? Or would you rather have cheap tickets and suck???
You dont get both.
2nd hamd sales are raising prices as well. Q1
If you can't afford it TV, if you can, go raise hell. Either way GBO. Nuts on Gumps
Only 1 thing. What about our disabled combat vets? They sacrificed alot? Just saying
They need to try out for the team then, no one is stopping them from getting a cut. And remember, ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
Pricing out the true fans like most sports, damn shame
Consumers are the only ones who suffer.
Appreciate and enjoy watching the Vols, but this is going to cause me to stay and watch on television. NIL is killing college sports!
I used to be a big college football fan. But I'm done with this nonsense. They've gone way too far and it's getting out of hand.
Vols dont suck, I have had season tixs 30 years so what I pay extra $200 for my tickets I have $200 less and we were horrible for 15 years. Go Vols still best money I have spent. Alumni booster and Season Tix holder!
GBO!!!
Lol Tennessee charging their fans for higher tickets is hilarious. So what happens when the Tennessee starts losing? Refund? He may of well said " Fuck yal fans, pay up"😂
This is not healthy. Im gonna be broke for the rest of my life….
Lmfao 😂 they dont have donors 😂 they dont have NIL 😮
Plenty of both as they just told you
Whoooo GBO
I actually do like this and appreciate the honesty instead of burying it in transaction charges. As mentioned in another comment, I also expect UT to expand alternate venue opportunities, especially for families, to be a part of Vols traditions. Take the jumbo screen watch parties outside the stadiums to another level for those who can’t afford the ticket price. It may also be time to build another deck.
To have the audacity to charge the fans a additional 10% in this economy, and then to have the audacity to come on a platform and sell the idea like it's a favor to the fans is the peak of shamelessness.
I hope not a single soul supports this nonsense. Stop letting these ppl lie to you about the money they don't have so they can use yours instead.
Stop going to the games and watch on tv. Man brought up the fans over and over like the average fan isn’t making $7.25 a hour in that state
There are 100k+ minimum wage workers in neyland every week? Thats your assertion lol?
@@BlindVeganRescue That’s not the point. The point is that it’s over 100k+ minimum wage workers who now can’t afford a reasonable priced ticket to neyland every week. The higher the prices the more priced out people become. Wasn’t that hard of a statement to grasp bud.
@Lakeshow_boss you're right minimum wage workers can't go. And?
@Lakeshow_boss 100,000 people every weekend can afford it and there's a growing waitlist so if you're priced out work harder and make more money. Not a hard concept.
@@BlindVeganRescue lol ok bud
Vawls
I do not agree with this decision
College Football does not exist anymore, at least at the D1 level, or whatever they call it today. It is Corporate Mercenary Football.
The SEC, it just costs more hahahahaha trash conference 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rich people asking for more money. The American Way.
I hate that prices are going up, but this is a great recruiting tool across all sports. I think Tennessee is positioning itself to be a top destination for the best athletes across all major sports. The players are seeing this and know that Tennessee is caring about them.
GBO
This is bullshit!!! What about the TV contracts and overpaid coaches!!!! Screw the fan I hope the seats are empty!!!!
Hey Danny Are You Gonna Give 10 Percent of Your Earnings, You Now Make 3 Million a Year, We Hard Working Everyday People Can't Afford To Pay Our Bills, So I Call BS
Bullshizz! Donations for Season Ticket ALREADY Went Up - Donations to Keep Your Parking Pass ALREADY Went Up - According to the Local Sports Talk Station, The 2024 REVENUE GOAL HAS ALREADY BEEN REACHED! .. College Football Has PRICED THE COMMON FAN OUT - Just Like the NFL With All the Games Now on Subscription Streaming Sites .. I Have Better Things to Spend Money on {Rent - Utilities - Groceries - Car} AND NOT MILLIONS TO HIGH SCHOOL KIDS WHO’VE NEVER PLAYED A SINGLE SEC GAME! Good Bye Semi-Pro {Used to be Called College Athletics} I’m OUT!
This is not a problem at all we love thisman and our team
The fans want heads to roll when the VOLS lose and then complain when the university makes moves to sustain the success. Can't have it both ways.
I LOVE college football, but what a f*cking joke. Kids graduate from college with a $200,000 debt. These athletes graduate with no debt. Getting a full ride scholarship is the same exact thing as getting paid. F all that. And Tennessee especially? 😂 Good luck ever winning a national title. So, make sure to pay those athletes money to win some bullsh*t bowl game 🙄.
The best ad in sports
Danny White gets it. Business mindset is for sure needed now at the leadership of Power 5 schools. I applaud Danny on being transparent. As a former college athlete I’d love to say thank you to him personally. Go Vols!
No.... no he doesn't get it.... People are hanging on by a thread financially nowadays.... Depending upon the game, tickets range from $300 in a garbage section against a crap team, to $600+ for the best games people wanna watch in a decent to good section.
How does an average family cough that up??? Trick question, they dont, won't and can't!
This will price a lot of people out as time goes on and prices increase....
These players have already been getting paid through NIL deals and scholarships for most of them.... If Danny wants to cut a program or shrink some budgets, thats fine and should absolutely be done before hurting the fans.... Especially when a good chunk of these kids are getting paid more than most people make in 3 years of work.
@@nickcomer8354 He’s not asking for those that can’t do it to buy tickets. He’s simply making it more financially beneficial to the players from the fans that can. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Good idea
Our players are worth it....Go Big 🍊
The players should be to the school. Not the fans. We regular people, the fans, work our asses off and we just want to take our families to go see a few games.... Thats not a thing now when you got $350 per ticket... Sometimes more for games like UT vs Bama.
$1,400 is not reasonable to just gain entry into Neyland. Thats not including parking, food or even buying the kids football or a shirt as a treat... Plus they wanna add the ability to TIP!???!??!?
FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THAT!!!
Tom Petty sang in the last DJ......they're gonna see what you will pay for what you used to get for free.....
I can't wait when they will have to pay high school, middle school, little league baseball players, etc, etc as they do for collegiate players.
And why not? Same principle,
No. 😊😢😢😢😊😢😢😢
If u cant😊😊😊😊😊😊😮😮😢🎉😊
