My son was under his command in the year 2003 being led into Iraq When The War started and if you listen to one of his speeches he says that the Marines came back from that tour and then had to return once again within 90 days my son went once again under Colonel Mathis and my son has nothing but great things to say about him so as my son spent 13 years in the Marine Corps and did three tours I also must have great respect for this man and if the Marines but know of Corporal Dunham then they will know the colonel Mathis play the great part and Corporal Dunham receiving the Medal of Honor my son also served with Corporal Dunham they were best friends and the Dunham family gave one Marine their blessing that if they wanted to name their son after Corporal Dunham they could do so well my grandson is name Dunham they bless my son with that and now my son is a deputy sheriff some my hat goes off to our military and to our men and women in blue or brown whatever uniform they put on to protect our streets Semper Fi God bless all that are in the military and thank you very much to all the men and women that guard our streets every night and day thank you for your service much love to you and many prayers back the blue

He hates being called ''Mad Dog''. So, even though I'm Army, I'll respect that request.

This is so Funny. I was talking to my Mom about her work and she said she remembers the day General Mattis told her he got a new nickname from his guys CHAOS . She worked @ 29 Palms when he was their back then and later her was her boss and friend when he became the Commanding General of the Base. She said he's incredibly funny and a Amazing Boss & friend
