Heard that little comment about needing cup holders on the splitter😂 i just got done with my homemade splitter and put 2 cup holders on it. Keeps the barley pops close by😉
Working good Elliott. It's always amazing what a few hours in the shop can do. Of course you have to have the knowledge and tools to make it happen. Looks easy once it is done though. To me the small time savings and bigger expense of a faster pump and engine isn't worth the money it costs. Making it a 4 way and end wedge is a really good cost effective upgrade. Take the money saved on the bigger engine and pump and put it towards bullet proofing the conveyor or building a rounds table. Nice job.
Elliot that conveyor is huge 😂, you can make massive mountains of wood. The splitter looks like it works very nice, the 4 ways make nice pretty wood too and wear some gloves, that locust can be splintery 😂 Awesome progress with the splitter 🍻
That would your splitting Eli is that Hickory or Elm cause that’s really really got some knots into her… that’s an awesome set up man. Awesome. that conveyor is huge man you could probably reach to my house.
@@TaskingwithTrevor Besides having a better quality base splitter, no...the modifications are stronger than the splitter is, so the beam is starting to get a slight bow to it. Nothing that effects the way it works though
What a great upgrade! Awesome job Elliott 👍👍
Thanks! We’re super happy with the results!
That machine is a BEAST!
Way better than what it started as that’s for sure

Gotta stay hydrated! Thanks for watchin!
Very nice. Looks like it's still somewhat light on the hitch end even with the steel and concrete weighing it down.
It’s a touch light, but it works…for now, we shall see what the future holds for this unit

We’re super happy with the results, and I think that conveyor is 35’.

It’s locust, and that set up is getting fine tuned but works very well for what it is!
That looks great! I have a tractor supply splitter that needs the same modification. How much faster will it split now compared to before?
Well, the speed of the ram is the same, but the time spent splitting is cut in about half or more
@@EverythingElliott thx! That added production is what I am needing without having to spend 10-15k.
Looks like it works pretty good. Im wanting a 12/22 but I can move my modified splitter by hand. I also need a elevator
Seems like everyone is playing the waiting game on eastonmade!
@@EverythingElliott I'm sure you are pretty correct on that one. I also like the all wood splitter.
And Wolfe ride I'm just not a fan of the welded in wedge that uses a slipon wedge
@@ethanpemberton9011 is that the brand that hard working man used to have?
Yes i beleave it is
Lots of wood to split. Don't have that species in Washington. Are you still on the job?
Sure am
@@EverythingElliott Good! First 8 yrs for me working UC. Never had so much fun! Stay safe out there.
Trying to enjoy a beverage while running the controls 😅 I would have said the same
There’s a time and place for it, with that old girl you need both hands.
After a year of these modifications how do you like them?
Splitter is still running strong, it’s been passed onto Georges father and he splits about 20 face cord a year with it
@@EverythingElliott That's awesome. Were there any improvements you would have made to the "conversion" after putting some time through it?
