- George brough his box store log splitter over for some major modifications. Were going to take this vertical / Horizontal Log splitter and make it into a push through style splitter with a removable wedge.

Hi Elliott, it's looking pretty good. When I did mine I ended up cutting the foot right down to the bottom of the slide. Pieces sometimes still get jammed between the curved rail and the wedge but not too bad. I've actually been using mine quite a bit the last few weeks to split up bundle wood. I kind of forgot how good it works. That 4 way is going to be nice. I'll email you a pic of my latest creation. Dale

Leg to hold it up better be on the ta do list. It’s going to want to tip up with big wood on it I think or maybe not lol.

@@EverythingElliott what? Did tell the neighbor kid to sit under it and hold it up? Lol. I hold mine down with and old huge red oak block with the tow chains under it. Lol.

I had same idea. Alot of work. I wonder why no box stores carry this style splitter?
I'm not sure to be honest, seems like it is becoming the popular style lately...maybe its time for them to adapt!
What size steel was that for the knife? Looked like 1"x6" maybe?

As you were belting into the piece of steel I saw the grinder taking a direct hit if you kept going. You kept going :(
