I am working towards more plant based diet because I am diabetic and atm I am at stage 2 of chronic kidney disease. After joining some groups on facebook the backlash from the vegans (like 90% of them) are so negative and browbashing. they go after anyone and anything that doesn't go with their dietary and mental prespectives nevermind encouraging and helping the positive steps being made. It's people like you and a few in the groups that help and encourage. I am in the process of trying to get people to switch from animal to plant protein once or more a week, based upon that's it cheaper to use beans, rice, lentils etc rather than the ungodly price of animal protein atm here in the USA. most people I ask sadly don't go along the lines of animal welfare, but I am finding more will switch for cheaper prices in food.
I've been on a plant-based diet for most of my life but I'm usually reluctant to call myself a vegan because I don't subscribe to the label that "vegans" you described above create online. Good for you to take care of your health. I hope plant based will help you manage diabetes and that you will enjoy it on a day to day basis ❤.
I’m sorry that happened to you. Personally I have a positive approach to Veganism, where for those who can it should be the end goal, BUT any step in that direction ought to be celebrated. Unfortunately I think a lot of vegans, particularly the animal activists, are so passionate about animals that they are hostile toward anyone who isn’t there yet. I hope you can find a positive vegan or plant based community
That's so awful I can't believe how mean people were to you. I wish you well on your new health journey and hopefully you will find tons more recipes for plant based living. There are tons of RUclips. I would recommend lots of whole fruits and veggies. They are fairly cheap and delicious! Best of luck 🤞
I have been through that too. I prefer more plant based meals and doing more ethical choices but I still eat meat. People are so willing to attack you if you do anything that is not following the guidelines 100% while I think that every change we make towards more plant based meals, snacks etc is a good change. I recently saw a celebrity talking about adopting animals and how much he loves his dogs and how his dogs saved him and in the comments people were extremely rude cause he is not a vegan 'How can you love your dog but not the animals that die?' I will never be able to understand that logic
hello! have you heard of the book "eat to live" by dr joel fuhrman? i highly recommend it he specializes in his clinic in reversing tupe 2 diabetes through diet, he explains everything in the book, it comes with recipes and is very plant based friendly i dont remember if vegan, good luck on your journey!
This type of content is my favorite! Sometimes it is difficult to find motivation on the little thinks, due to climate anxiety or other life stuff, but your daily routines calm me down and inspire me to enjoy cooking and ordinary things, so thank you!
i love the way i feel after watching some of your “vlog” videos - your kind but also honest and real talks give me this “comfort space” vibes. thank you for all the work you’re doing and content you’re creating because it makes world (especially youtube 😉) a better and also happier place 🖤
For reasons unknown even to The Algorithm, RUclips decided to throw at me your video from 5 years ago - I BROKE OFF MY ENGAGEMENT. Just wanted to tell you that it's been pleasure to watch you grow over the years. Keep shining. You're an impressive and inspiring badass 🥰.
How desi! That's what I felt when you added water to the tiffin box, swirled it around and poured it into the pan. Dal/Curry, Tiffin box, the act of adding water to it. All Desi!! Our moms would be so proud to see this! Even impressed. And for those who are uninitiated, "Desi" refers to folks who are from South Asia or are of South Asian heritage.
I absolutely adore your resting face or a face you make when you are focused and doing something, I have never seen it before until recently but its so wholesome 💚💚💚💚
I'm loving the food content. I often forget that self care includes cooking for myself and enjoying the process of washing, cutting, sauteing and finally eating. It could be seasonal depression causing me to easily reach for things I made in the freezer, but it's all very basic soups. Thanks for the reminder to take better care of myself by preparing better meals with more imagination.
I find it so inspiring to see you putting in the effort for your self! I am now in a phase where I learn to do things on my own and your content really helps me😊
Bionella is sooooo good !! I love it when you eat food and talk to us, it feels like sitting at the table with a friend. The Biscoff spread is widely available here in the UK and I do like the occasional Biscoff biscuit with a coffee in a cafe, but the spread is way too sweet for me. The small things which we care about are maybe more relatable and easier to grasp, because they happen directly for us / in our daily life/bubble. The planet has been dying for such a long time, but most people still seem to be oblivious to it, they just keep doing what they're doing :( Love the legacy of your family jacket :)
Hey maybe you've tried many things already like me. I also don't have an appetite in the morning, BUT I get super hungry if I don't eat. But for me something that has really worked is making my breakfast and then going somewhere else to eat. This way I'm awake for a while and my body gets to wake up and I get some movement in. I usually go to the market and buy a coffee and eat my breakfast there before I head off to work.
Aaah I love Jerusalem artichoke! Have them growing wild in my garden and love making soup and a dip with them, and also roasted in the oven with fresh herbs are chefs kiss😁
Watched this while being cozy in my bed eating my own breakfast haha. Also, those dumplings look so good! I'll have to try my hand at making those too haha, maybe I can get a few of my friends to join me, as well.
I like how you say in the end that you are impressed that you got to eat because the day was so busy. If it had been my day, there had only been leftovers from the day before to save me. Or take out. Or the bakery.
About the IPCC report…do you have recommendations what to say to people who are skeptics? I shared it with my family and a large group of friends, and both basically told me to calm down, “experts” have been saying big scary things for years and that they’re skeptical of timelines and to not believe everything that is written. On one hand I understand the importance of critical thinking and the need to not take everything we see at face value, but on the other hand…like I’m pretty sure this is a legit source you should be giving more gravity to?? I’m finding it very hard to deal with the frustration, if I think about it too long…

Love having a realistic what I eat. The zero waste / ecofriendly movement should not foster diet culture or disordered eating !

Started making dumplings because you're always soooo happy to make and eat them. It's actually really easy and so delicious. 😊

Watched your video while making/eating breakfast, and my mood has definitely improved

My grandma finishes dumplings with pushing the edge with a fork and it looks very good every time!
Oh, I would eat dumplings now...!
I like how you say in the end that you are impressed that you got to eat because the day was so busy. If it had been my day, there had only been leftovers from the day before to save me. Or take out. Or the bakery.
Love your new kitchen!
Gittemary that's not red cabbage, but a head of Treviso salad, a bit bitter we can find at the end of winter...Love your video !
I love these and all of your videos. Those dumplings looked great too!

Yummy 😋 food in this amazing what Gittemary ate in a day video and love 🥰 it.
What's the flour/water measurement to make the dumplings? Would love to give this a try!
125 ml water, 250 g flour 🥟
"Just saving it, like a bag of human ears" lmao
why do I say these things 💀
I always toast the muffins x
I popped them in the oven for 3 minutes before I ate them ☺️
I frickin love dumplings but they are expensive and in plastic. I am going to make a massive batch one weekend and freeze them!
How did you cook the dumplings?
I steam them in a bamboo steamer and sometimes fry them on one side afterwards ☺️
love this, thank you x
I am I love with that tan sweater you wear.
Omg its two days in a row I am singing that song 'dumb ways to die' 😂😂😂😂😂
It is stuck in my head 😩
@@Gittemary I totally feel you
