It might just be the LED that's faulty, so I'd say leave it for a certain amount of time charging a battery and check after whether it has given it some charge. 😎

I have been charging the Alpha 7RIII camera directly with the small cable which fastens into a weak slot on the side. That no longer works (as a result of the horrible design of the useless plug-and-socket they use). So I am back to using this BC-QZ1. However, it does not come with a built-in plug, but requires a special cord of its own. Now I have to find that.

Yea, it using a 2-pin power cable; hopefully you can find it.

Third party usb charges are more convenient, lighter and much cheaper but improper charging may reduce the total number of recharges with adequate capacity of a battery.

100% agree. It’s not worth cutting corners. Battery charge cycles, Camera safety, Fires… We are spending thousands on camera gear and trying to save $50 on a critical component. I have seen $10 Amazon chargers in $300 leather camera bags. Priorities….

To my knowledge, yes.
I never use internal charging anymore, I much prefer it. :)

there is exactly the same charging time. But when charging external, you can work on the second battery

@@grzegorzglowacki late but no, the external charger charges a battery in 150 minutes. While using the in camera charging will take approx 285 minutes. A difference of 2.25 hours

This charger is for 'Z' batteries, the battery you mentioned is a 'V' battery, so unfortunately not.
