This 3D medical animation explains some of the treatment options for head and neck cancer. The most common type of head and neck cancer is squamous cell carcinoma that forms in the sinuses, nose, mouth, throat, voice box (larynx), and salivary glands. Your doctor will make a treatment plan based on the type and location of the tumor, as well as your overall health. Some of the treatment options include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy (chemo), targeted therapy and immunotherapy.
My 62 year old brother died of this on 5/9/22. He had all the treatments mentioned. He suffered for almost two years before dying.

I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in the throat in 2017, I was 51 at the time. My oncologist told me that she was going to be a long road but we can fix it. I’ll never forget those words, and he was right 👌💪

@0:34 not just these factors. The most major and important factor is the type of cancer. That determines whether any immunotherapy chemotherapy would work or not. Sometimes surgery is the most and only definitive treatment.

Because most doctors don’t listen to me and it’s usually just one doctor have to wait a couple hours to see him but now I feel like the $6 million man because I have all kinds of specialist working on me and I’m thankful that I live in Minnesota, where the people are nice hard workers

My hard headed dad died of this, he worked outside a lot and never used sunscreen, my mom would always tell him to wear it and he never listened and to make things worse he hated going to the doctor so by the time he was diagnosed he had stage 4 and all they did was prolong his life about a year,

Sounds like your father died of a squamous cell skin cancer. This video is about squamous cell head and neck cancers, which are quite different, and are not caused by sun exposure. I'm sorry for your loss.
My twin sister suffering pain in her body and there is a new lymp node in her underam , she suffering headache can't hear sometimes and her voice affected the doctor said only miracle she can survive coz the tumor was already in her head pls pray for her 😥😢 her breast cancer was trigger after she have a vaccine now she got more worse I love my twin sister I can't afford to loose her

My grandfather has a neck cancer. Please give me advice.

Hey guys. My dad, Sam Gash has this cancer and kidney cancer and it is making me so sad. He played in the NFL for 12 years, won Super Bowls; he is so strong. Seeing him like this is killing me.
I would love if someone could answer some questions for me.
If he can’t swallow how is he still able to have saliva or does he? Could he lose his ability to swallow forever? Could that kill him?
He also has cancer in his kidney and they’re going to have to do surgery on that august 5th. He has to gain a lot of weight before that time though.
He’s completed 35 rounds of radiation and 2 rounds of cisplatin chemo.

I am so sorry to hear about this, it makes me tear up. My mom is having her second surgery of the tongue in a few weeks as none of the treatments worked. We are going to try a alkaline diet to see if that works, if it does I will be posting about it.

Jesus continue to be with him. My mother was just recently diagnosed with squamous carcinoma cancer in her soft palate. I'm so mentally and emotionally drained but I trust whatever God's will is. They suggested for her to do radiation treatment but my mother said she doesn't want any radiation in her body. I've been seeking God's direction and my gut also says no.

i have stage 3 of this cancer, they suggested chemo combined with radiation therapy which is 95% success, however is there any better treatment with a good success rate? I need an answer😭

@@aleen6942 You and I were doing the same treatments same time. I had 35 total proton radiation treatments 5 days a week with low does chemo once a week. Still trying to recover and it's now almost June. My last treatment day was March 2nd and still have "damaged" taste buds as everything tastes horrible. Find out on June 9th if all the treatments worked or not. Ugh...

You’re best off just getting it checked by a professional rather than asking arm chair experts in comment sections. But speaking as an arm chair expert who had a lymph node tumour in my neck, it was more soft and spongy. Hope it’s nothing to worry about

why is it called squamous carcinoma?
It’s squamous cell carcinoma, the name comes from the shape of cells- thin and flat- that line the neck and throat area.
It’s caused by the dysfunctional basal membrane who line under the epithelial cell(squamous, cuboidal and columnar), once when basal membrane greatly reproduced abnormal cells with numerous amount of it, then it's called carcinoma.
