This is a fantastic video. I’ve always stopped because I felt tension after not singing much. And I’ve noticed that instead of protecting my voice, by not challenging it I have caused my range and volume range to dramatically decrease. And now I’m ashamed to sing in front of people.

I'm sorry you've had this experience. I recently did some physical therapy for some shoulder pain. My therapist told me that the issue was getting worse from me resting the shoulder, instead of appropriately strengthening the shoulder . . . well it makes a lot of sense once the pain goes away 🤣

@@evan-dunn only from embracing the muscularity of the function of singing has my own singing finally become free… being told to sing lightly only caused me physical and mental distress, until I decided, hey I know better than this, and now I feel the absolute freest singing the most difficult roles of my career thusfar. the voice is a muscle: use it!!!

I tried really hard to ruin my voice by singing small and easy. Of course, we all know MDM almost lost his voice by doing that - but for any mistakes in life, one needs to make their own.

@evan-dunn he was rather tall (188cm) and with a long, wide chest, he build in his teens by swimming. In an interview he mentioned that anatomy and training as key in his voice.
I remember seeing the pictures of a very young Franco in swimsuit in a RUclips video some years ago, and found it again!

I once took the stage and sang in musical theater for many years, I am 36, but I had to stop, and for several reasons. First was that basically every part I would sing involved me singing music which was conditioning me subconsciously to do things that I did not want to do, or be in a way in which I did not want to be, or to speak things which, even in acting, I did not wish to say. I am sure you can relate that when you learn not only a song, but a role, you are taking in that character, and meditating upon their words, their thoughts and actions, and getting them into yourself, into your body, so that you can accurately portray them on stage or in a performace. And you have to not only meditate on these words and memorize them but continually repeat them over and over and over in both rehearsals and performances, with conviction. You unknowingly are brainwashing yourself, with whatever your character is, and most characters, if not all, in opera and musical theater are not people to emulate. Even if you try and keep things separate, and know they are separate consciously, unconscioulsy, ways of speaking or thinking from your character start bleeding through into your real life. Theater back in ancient Greece was a religious thing, channeling the devil Dyonisus, and even though I did not even know that at the time when I was acting and singing regularly, I found that in my work, devils would inevitably come into me and give me power on the stage, which game me accolades with men, but is in truth an abomination and torment.
The second reason I had to stop, is because the world is SO FULL of radiation now, with cell phones, wifi, bluetooth, cell towers, small cells, smart devices that communicate wirlessly, data antennas, and when you are on the stage in musical theater, wireless mikes. I could tolerate the wireless mikes to some degree for a while, but since the lockdowns when 5G small cells were put on every other lamp post, and everyone in the shows AND audience have cell phones that are blasting radiation every few seconds, it utterly made my health collapse. The radiation, this rapidly pulsing radiofrequency radiation from all things wireless, is REALLY REALLY bad for everyone, for all systems in your body and for the proper functioning of the brain, but I happen to experience it more accutely and quickly than most, a canary in the coal mine, if you will. Most people's systems manifest deep and prodound, yet subtle and gradual changes in a person, so that no one realizes what has happened to them, or that anything has happend at all. And because doctors do not acknowledge the harmful effects, if people do manifest symptoms they notice, the doctor will always point you in the wrong direction. That is why it persists to this day; and the fact that people are already addicted and conditioned to love all things wireless. So I had to move to the literal middle of nowhere just so I could have physical peace and even start to regenerate my health.
So those two things have resulted in my leaving, and not taking the stage. I do plan, Lord willing, to post my singing and playing of both hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs, both covers and originals on my RUclips channel. But as of now, I only have computer generated music I wrote and arranged with the sheet musc on screen for singing along. I am very passionate about true intonation, which the world calls Pythagorean just intonation, or sometimes 3 limit just intonation. And I can, in Dorcio, make music in that tuning and compose freely. But finding a real instrument that is good enough and within my price range that can play in tune has been VERY challenging to say the least. Even though it is very practical to play in tune, the world's infrastructure is really only set up for out of tune playing, especially if you want an acoustic instrument, which I do. Electric instruments can be fine, but where I am in the middle of nowhere, I cannot utilize a keyboard instrument that is electronic that does not run on batteries. And it has to be able to ship to the middle of nowhere from the US.
But this type of singing technique you speak of, like that which Jeremy Silver used to teach before his untimely and in my opinion, highly suspiscious death, I do like and I do train in this vein. I am a dramatic tenor. I do hope to be able to publish and perform on video more of my music soon, and if the Lord performes a miracle, in person too. But with Trump and Elon coming into power, two people which LOVE radiation and "smart" technology, and at least with Trump expedited the rollout of 5G during the scamdemiic lockdowns, it would be unlikely for that to happen that I perform in person unless there is direct divine intervention. But at this point, because that tech is so integrated into the world and the economies of the world, such an intervention would utterly destroy all of civilization for a time. But at this point, I would say, yeah but it has to happen though, things are really bad out there, as you may have seen, it is only a matter of when not if.
But about your video format, yes, this walk and talk format is good along with your normal format for the reasons you said in the video. Sometimes being able to explain things more in detail is needed, but also being able to play audio clips and short concise phrases onscreen can be highly profitable to us viewers as well.
