great demo! wonderfully musical applications! I’ve been using two Doepfer FFBs on my modular for years. They live on the output, giving everything I do some extra colour. It’s incredible how much space one could achieve in a dense mix by using FFBs. Right now I’m reviewing the wonderful Serge Resonant EQ by Random Source, which is gorgeous! But my GAS really calls out loud for the AJH 914!
I have a mix of 1/4" MOTM and 1/8" Euro-Rack Synth modules and I often patch with RCA cables + adapters: - RCA to 1/4" and RCA to 1/8" adapters. The adapters are reasonable outlay and their bullet proof. New RCA patch cables are super inexpensive and just as shielded as the more expensive patch cables.
How great would it be to take the output of a vintage synth like the Polysix, split the signal into a pair, and run each pair into one of these, followed by some delay?? I guess all I'd need to add is a Mult to create a copy of the input signal, right?
Hey Daniel! I was wondering how did you trigger the chord at 12:03. Is it an arpeggio? Do you mind sharing the notes in the chord? I really really like how that sounds!
Very cool! You can achieve something similar using two white noise sources, VCAs or attenuators, and the WORNG Sound Stage. Not quite as frequency-specific, but close enough!
Can't wait to model that in the Montage as a Fixed Filter Performance. Have several 44.1Khz whitenoise/pinknoise samples to work with as AWM elements. Will pan them Left / Right, set some knob assignments to adjust the 5 band EQ on each channel, monkey with the with Reverb and delay types and sends, add some crazy insertion effects and macro it all into the super knob to see what develops. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Daniel. That's actually the reason I purchased the 995 Attenuator module, but it didn't do the feedback trick. Behringer suggests that I use the CP3A-M Mixer or other non-passive attenuators. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
OK this messed me up real bad. Now I wanna build a stereo in/out filtering device for Eurorack. I'll definitely want a pair of Fixed Filter Banks. I wonder if they make any where the bands have CV control? It would be cool to be able to sequence the various bands.
Look at the Moog Mf-105 or MF-105m Murf. It’s like a fixed filter bank pedal, where the bands can animate and be sequenced. They are pretty expensive though.
@@BullyMaguire4ever I have a Murf and they’re great but not stereo. It would be quite pricey to add a 2nd one but something like this could be a killer cost effective solution. Or even a pair of the new Moog Soectravox units??
I never knew about this type of filter or what it did.. thank you for sharing. On the back of this video alone, I ordered *2 at £45 each, from Amazon UK. Cant wait to play around with this :-)

Hi Stellaterra. The 914 Fixed Filter Bank is an active Eurorack module, so it requires the power supplied by the ribbon cable in a powered Eurorack case. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
thx. now i know what a FFB is, and ways to use it. So, maybe this would be a nice companion to the behr 2600 noise generator. [lol, ok that was a little below the belt] So, if you are running really short on synth clip ideas, what about a lesson on layers and keyboard ranges, velocity gate or transposing, etc? it seems like the workstation stuff is creeping into the synths like wavestate and JD-xm. you could show people the magic of using velocity as a gate and setting up layers for performances. ez but cool stuff like using the highest note to start the drumbeat or setting up a layer below the keyboard range and play it with a MIDI footboard (like those studiologic 13 and 17 note boards you sell) or second keyboard as controller and play the main keyboard like normal on the other layers. layers = separate little synths..

Great video, I'd add a mixer to that little soundscape rig to allow FFB feedback loops.

The EMW brand makes one with CV control, it's about $40 more then the Behringer one.
