"If you want to be enthusiastic about the game, make your enjoyment about more than just the game". Hot damn that's so true. Looking at most of my hobbies, I adore them because there's a community attached to it that I enjoy being a part of. Makes a lot of intuitive sense, but hearing it called out and put to words is really insightful.
Now how do I do that about things that are a pain in the butt
Makes me sad that "16 gold" drops are considered big luck yet there are items worth thousands upon thousands.. ahhh. I could never get burned out on this game.. so much to do. Appreciate all the content mate - your 🇨🇦 supporters
Remember when comm tag was 100g back them? Worst mistake not to have bought that at that moment
300g is nothing. Farm 10 hours or swipe your credit card.
Back then weren't they character bound
To be fair 100g seemed like an insane amount of gold to a lot of us, while 300g looks like a realistic grind now
To be honest it's kinda better value now - back then it was 100g PER CHARACTER!
@@MightyTeapot What happened to the people that had a 100g tag when it switched? Did they have to buy it again maybe at the half price you get for cat and commander for owning one or did they get a free upgrade to account bound?
commander tag shouldn't have so many exclusive features. it should only be the special marker and showing up on the map. squad organization and markers should be free.
I agree, it's a fundamental MMO feature. Holds the game back a lot by not having it baseline

I am a total newbie in GW2. So much of what you talk about makes no sense to me, but you are so much fun to watch.
It's crazy seeing you get so far so quickly.
I have nearly 1,000 hours and I have less than 10% than what you have on this account.
He's on that grind. I prefer playing the game for fun rather than doing maximum gold output. Not bad to take your time on things.
I got 2,000 hours and he's getting close to all that I have on my account as well lol.

Seems like a cool series, but I watched one video when I was looking for guides and now it's all RUclips will recommend.
Main complaint is - The titles and thumbnails imply that it's a guide on a specific topic, then it's just a long stream/gameplay video. You might cover the topic at some point but it's hard to skip through and find what's actually relevant.

try getting the kitty commander tag that is a fun run
I did all strikes 5 days in a row got literally 0 ascended coming here you get one per strike almost lmao

Bjora gives quite a few, I think - do the swivel-mirrors light-bouncing puzzles, I think completing the sets gives mastery. Also the mini-dungeon raven lock puzzles and corrupted spirit mini-games. Or you can grind DRMs... ☠💀🤣

well, I did that same stuff like 10 times already, but never got an ascended item. gw2 must be really favoring you.

Pretty much what these two said. I grinded both Aurora and Vision back to back and got burnt out so much I didn't even log in. Took a multi week break to play other games and do other hobbies then got back into it again.
Same but I currently dropped the game bc of the unbearable crafting demands for leggy armor. Shame for all the money I put into the game but who knows, maybe someone will come to appreciate them in the future😂

It's a mastery track that he recently unlocked.
The mastery track - having it fully unlocked enables a potential 2k drop from dragonstorm!

Why did you buy an axe on firebrand when their class collectable is an axe?
Opportunity cost, the axe collection is free but doesn't generate wealth - this means that I end up getting more account value by simply farming and brute forcing the game. This is a very key insight that is a HUGE part of why this account progresses so fast. I don't chase collections that drain my time, I just muscle the game by playing content. 99 times out of 100 this is faster AND 'cheaper' (I end up outfarming the collections in terms of account value)
@@MightyTeapot This is why it's important to know WHY you play the game. For me, the collections themselves are the content I enjoy and why I also like watching your vids to understand a different perspective.

It's not addon. You add browser window scene into OBS from gw2efficiency. Otherwise can use blish hud

It seems kind of messed up that salvaging an ascended ring is worth less than 1 gold when there are exotics that cost 10+ gold. Like I get it, what else are you going to do with it if it's not in your spec, but still. I dislike the economy in this game.
Expensive exotics are mostly skins/rare collection items. Ascended works the way it works because all ascended items are account bound and as soon as you get your first ascended set your account is flooded with ascended. After you are full legendary you just don't care about ascended items at all. If salvaging ascended was not mostly trash items and account bound stuff, it would break the game for veteran players.

it depends on the work to get the items, vipers are 10g+ because they require HoT and some HoT mastery i believe.
exotics are also required where as you can get away without ascended gear, as well as ascended not being tradeable themself, makes sense why one is more expensive.
