My Basset Sadie is marked exactly like the tan and white one. They are such lazy goof's, drama queen's and king's, They stink even more when they are wet and shed like crazy and are very loud and verbal about their intentions and cannot forget stubborn as hell but that's why I love em.
Starlight Bolognese I know what you mean. Most rescues are mutts. Or the rescue business itself is full on stupid. I bred bassett's for a while. Had a women buy one off me. She already had a Basset and tried adopting a rescue dog. But the rescue place required that they do a home visit before they allowed you to adopt one of their dogs. They decided her place wasn't fit for a basset hound. She owned land that had a pond on it. She said according to them "bassett's don't swim". Which is full on stupid because bassett's do swim. They might not like it but they know how. So she was denied a rescue dog because she had a pond.
