Why is Bali still Hindu-Buddhist? the answer is because of the culture and society In the late 15th century the Majapahit kingdom fell to the Muslim sultanate of Demak Aristocrats and Hindu Buddhist artists or scholars seek asylum in Bali Dwipa Thus the Muslim sultanate of Demak entered into an agreement The Demak Sultanate would not invade the Balinese kingdom with conditions 1.Bali must be part of the archipelago(Nusantara)Under Javanese authority 2. The Kingdom of Bali must protect its people who voluntarily embrace Islam 3. Balinese Hindus must follow Islamic culture socially, namely by treating humans as equals Not divided into castes like Indian Hindus. The 19th century Dutch colonial entered Bali And in the 20th century Bali was conquered by the Dutch colonialists both politically and militarily However, spiritually the Balinese people prefer to commit ritual mass suicide rather than converting to Christianity and then becoming the dogs of the Dutch colonialists. That's why Bali is still Hindu, of the 90% Muslim population of 270 million Indonesians.
Indonesia is a multi-religious country, and coexist peacefully, you can check Borobudur Temple, it is the largest Buddhist temple in the world and is on the island of Java
@@cintadamai8545 Indonesia is multi-ethnic because if you say Indonesia is a multi-religious nation, Russia, England, America, Australia are also nations with multi-religions. The temple looked amazing, how powerful the energy must be in that area, so tranquil and lush. Those jungle paths to the waterfall looked like absolute paradise the people that live in Bali are so lucky to come from such an oasis!
Flying to Thailand soon. You almost make me look for a flight down to Bali 🙂 I will never forget the first time I came to Bali. What a magical experience it was. 1994 after exploration of Sumatra and Java first. If you haven't to Borobodur I highly recommend it and hope that is i like it was back then. And Berastagi in Sumatra. Also amazing aamzing Lake Toba in Sumatra.

You can tell Gabe has really liked Ubud. I have added it to the top of my list of places to go. First you showed me Mazunte, now Ubud. Thanks again, Gabe.
The statue from min 20 is Saraswati goddess, she is always with a swan and some musical instrument. Her Mahavidya forms are Matangi and Tara. And i think she is an important goddess in Balinese Hinduism, she has a temple in Ubud and she is celebrated on Saraswati day, one of the main festivals for Hindus in Indonesia.
Another wonderful video thanks for seeking these lush environs, so happy you hired the Lady Tour Guide, nice to hear her descriptions. I think the white structure was for the Deity Saraswati, goddess of education, literature, music and the arts, her consort is the swan and she’s usually in white. Hi Gabriel, An Incredible day of traveling around and seeing some spectacular sites. Nothing comes close to being there in person and seeing these magnificent waterfalls and getting out to see your surroundings is wonderful because there are things you come across that don't get much attention. Looking forward to seeing the other videos, it wasn't too crowded really in the summer, these locations must get packed. The aroma of the plants and flowers, and the lust environment are fantastic.
I visited Sumampan (@23:00) this past summer. The walls near the waterfall are not natural- the mud is cut out for construction elsewhere. The artwork of elephants etc. is by local artists who are invited to contribute on site.
pls make full video of back pack , electronics, winter wear, and all other small things for long term backpacking thanks you in advance👍 After unicorn things what we need

I love your Bali content. I have told you so, perhaps too copiously. I cannot wait to see how you find being Down Under. 1) Wow, you found posh accommodations for $24 / night? Good job. Curious to know: Do you ever take leftovers back to your hotel / motel / or whatever room to eat later? Are microwaves provided for guests to use? 2) Man, the beautiful clothing and shopping options at 09:35 look glorious! We women can excel at those sorts of mundane past-times ... 3) You wear helmets when you ride on those scooters, yes? Gosh, I hope so. You'd hate to be a motor vehicle accident and end up with a bloody awful head injury. 4) The nature you run into, Gabriel! Wow ... Lovely! What INTENSE stairs you go down, you will have to come back up. Yikes ... 5) AT 28:20, what is so racy about THAT? It is just a carving and not a porno film, Gabriel.

It's out of respect for the religious place (temple). In many Buddhist or Hindu temples, one should not enter if with exposed shoulders (no sleeveless shirts) or knees. Gabe did well in bringing his own sarong. In some places, sarong can be borrowed or rented. There was even a place in Bali (I forgot where) wherein a woman is not supposed to enter if she has her period, as she is considered unclean.
