For people wondering if the PGS is too small, I recommend picking up a Jinhao 82. It's a really inexpensive way to see how it feels in the hand.

That's exactly what I did. It was some of the best money I've spent (about $5). The pen is adorable but it is much too small for me.

@@KatiesCraftStudio they're a great buy! I was able to put the converter that came in it into my Benu euphoria. Now I have no idea what to do with the shell.

Yeah I got the 82 for $5 and loved it. I don’t think I will bother buying a PGS for multiples of that.

The Pro-Gear Professional Slim is an absolutely fabulous pen. I feel that I get a lot of feedback from it when I am writing. The Rhodium finished nib looks absolutely beautiful. I wrote with it once, and it was an absolutely exquisite experience, but I also felt that there was something different in the experience than before. On looking, I found that there was no ink in the converter but it was still writing! I really don't want to experience anything more in a pen. This pen has a medium size nib, which is pretty thin, but a broad nibbed Sailor pen is pretty broad.
I never post any of my fountain pens if the cap is threaded for the pen to be capped. I don't want the threading to be damaged if I post the pen.

New to the fountain pen addiction. Just bought a $280 Sailor this week straight from a Preppy and Kakuno. Anyways, this comment is not about me. I wanted to say, it cracks me up how you mount the mic. Between a pen case to a pen itself, it’s great. Keep the content coming…

As for Sailor nibs, I am always stumped by the nib stiffness. A Pelikan 18k nib is somehow softer than a Sailor 21k (I know it's mostly the size & shape, also probably the thickness of the sheet it was made from). I have small hands and these fit perfectly. I just wish the nibs would be a smidge softer.🐥

I love Sailor's Zoom nibs, and one nice thing about the Pro Gear Slim is that the PGS/1911S size Zoom nib has a finer line in vertical angles than the 21k full size nib on PG/1911L. And honestly, if you're trying to do the "shift angle mid-stroke", the shorter pen shifts angle more easily too.
I have big enough hands that the PGS really does feel too small, posting is absolutely mandatory. But if I'm doing something where I want to really maximize the range of the Zoom, it seems to work better.

Sailor is my favorite fountain pen brand, and the Pro Gear Slim is my favorite Sailor. And, yes, I prefer them to Pilot.

I'm waiting for a PGS or PGS mini with a finish I love. I don't own a Sailor pen yet but my tastes are leaning towards pocket pens. I would like to see a size comparison between the PGS mini, e95s, and kaweco if you ever get your hands on a mini.

This pen was very dry and scratchy in the beginning. It's not a nib , but rather obstructed flow problem. After multiple washing cycles with soapy water, and matched ink, it started to write nicely.

I’ve a Sailor Profit Jr which I love. Is this roughly the same size? Considering the slightly different body shape of course…
I find my Sailor super reliable but a bit too thin (nib MF), so I was looking for this in M.
It’s a bit expensive, considering that for the same price you can buy a Lamy 2000…

I love my Sailor Pro Gear slim pens!! I love them so much I got 2. They fit perfectly in my (smaller) hands and the feedback and nibs are divine. I will say I just got a Pro Gear Mini … it’s a little uncomfortable even when posted because the clip brushes the nook of hand when I write. But I only just got it recently and want to give it time to grow on me

Nice looking pen, the flat top look is nice. Currently it's the closest Sailor has to the E95s. However, back in the 1960s or 70s, they made one, the 21 I believe, that was almost a copy of the Pilot Elite of the day, possible Pilot copied Sailor. Platinum had one also.

I'm waiting for a PGS to arrive. It sounds like my fiance would probably like it more than me based on the review haha but that's okay. I'm definately excited to get my hands on it and have it part of the collection.

This is a great pen, though admittedly a little on the small side. My hand doesn't notice the difference in size between PG and PGS, which makes me want to try a KoP, should I ever find one in my price range (no).

I’m yet to try a Sailor but the KOP is the only one I’m interested in really. I like the fact they do the ebonite version so it’s lighter (and considerably cheaper but still expensive) than the Urushi version. I have two pilots with Urushi finish (an 845 and a Custom Urushi), and while the finish looks beautiful it adds more weight than I personally like and am considering having a custom acrylic barrel and cap turned for them both just because of the weight. To be fair I am getting used to it over time, though when I pick up my 743 after using the 845 (essentially the same size but weight is noticeably different in hand), the weight/balance of the 743 just feels great.

I consider the Slim a pocket pen, but I keep stuff in a pouch in my pocket. Although, in all honestly, I do not like writing with it. I prefer fuller-sized pens, or maybe oversized,.
