There is a city named after the son of Lord Ram. It's a holy city to both Hindus and Sikhs. People of all faiths lived in this diverse city as brothers.
Then comes mini Hitler (MA Jinnah) who spreads communal hatred amongst his community. The misled Muslims go to the Houses of Hindus and Sikhs, and torch them. The city which had a 50% Hindu and Sikh population is now a pure Muslim city.
I'm talking about Lahore, the capital of undivided Punjab. Pakistan commited genocide and forced out the minorities. India could have taken a similar path and ethnically cleansed Kashmir, but our values don't allow us to do this. If India took the same path as Pakistan, Kashmir would be just another Indian state, where the genocide would become the forgotten past (Like Lahore).
I'll acknowledge that there have been many mistakes from the Indian side in handling the Kashmir conflict, but a nation which ethically cleansed cities and villages has no right to ask us to cede territory on the basis of religion.
If you guys allowed major Hindu and Sikh populations to live in Pakistan, I'm willing to bet that there'd be seperatist movements across your country, fighting against the injustice being perpetuated.
