Quick pronunciation tip on "Kabbadi" (the Indian/Pak high contact sport): its pronounced "ka-buddy". Sajid Khan's (Pak spinner) wicket celebration gesture where he slaps his thigh and raises his other hand's index finger echoes the winner's gesture in Kabaddi.
India need more than Bumrah. The issue is that unlike a Cummins and Boland, who will take a couple of wickets even on their off days, Siraj and Harshit are not reliably and Reddy is certainly not there yet as a reliable 4th seamer. Harshit and Reddy are raw so its a bit unfair to expect too much, but Siraj is just too inconsistent. He was excellent at Perth but today he just wasn't making the batsmen play enough. Even Bumrah wasn't at his best arguably, but he was still the best of the Indian seamers.
@ You have selective memory. He often bowls a whole lot of tripe. When he’s on song, he’s amazing but he usually requires helpful conditions. I struggle to remember him being effective on good batting conditions.
Liked the way McSweeny played out that tricky session today. Hes a good leaver of the ball which I'll take over a nervous nudger. Unhurried. Adam, that moment you described when Labuschagne faced Archer right after getting hit in the grill as concussion sub - thats the moment I became his fan. He wont back down. And he showed that today v Bumrah. Loved it. Love Marn. Im rooting for him to get back to his century-getting ways so bad. May this be the innings as Bharat predicted. (Amen) Starc definitely deserves more acclaim - on his day he can rip through a line up like its no biggie. Match winner, breakthrough-getter. I still think Hazlewood is the least appreciated/most underrated coz hes often out with a niggle and hes so quiet and doesnt take the stage quite like the other two pacers do.
My heart goes out to Hazlewood and I agree with your description of his character. I just hope he wasn't dropped for his innocuous comment about the batters during the PC.
@@joseph_donovanlol no im pretty sure that comment wasn’t the reason. He has gotten these side strains before too and has missed a test pretty much each of the last 3 summers if I recall correctly.
@@joseph_donovan Agree with you on Hazelwood. Ryan Harris said it wasn't the comment about batters- and the team felt Boland's "skill" would be of better use for a Pink Ball match!!
Starc has experience, he's in form and it's his favourite format ... the result, success! Only Carey and McSweeney were the other in form players leading int this series. Can the others play themselves into some sort of form? Let's wait and see. You forgot Reddy was LBW to Boland when yet to score yet the Aussies didn't review. Fascinating day's play.
My hall of fame moment (sorry a bit niche): when Smith caught Kohli he went past Tim Paine to the top of the list with 29 catches in day/night Tests. Which is only because Smith has played most of these games while Australia have used 4 different keepers across the years (the latter is maybe a good pub quiz question?)
I see Geoff is bringing back those awesome summer party shirts he wore during the t20 World Cup…which makes sense since it’s now summer in the southern hemisphere
Starc and Hazlewood have complimented each other for a decade. Starc can bowl a hero ball that is unplayable by any batsman (yes I said batsman this is men's cricket) while Hazlewood is deadly accurate modern day McGrath.
Starc’s excellent stats don’t reflect that he’s always lacked the all conquering, destroy the opposition series that would have him as a Test great - could this be the series?
Watching this at 3:00 AM! You guys are your best when Aussies have a good day!!! 😎🤷 Starc was terrific 💯! And Marnus- Siraj/Bumrah shenanigans,😂 ! Hope our boys get back on track and ATTACK THE STUMPS! 💪! McSweeny looked confident today & Marnus, thanks to Bharat's article(need to ask him his psychic's or astrologer's number) I am afraid, tomorrow,he'll soar high like 🦅 on his bat !! India's performance was disheartening, Kohli's outside off saga continues 😢! but I know day 2 is going to be MAD!!!
I feel like Rohit needs to use Ashwin more not just in this match but throughout the series. He's done well in the previous series and the Aussies find him hard to face.
Today's performance shows perth win came out of law of averages, i guess. Or may be Rohit + Kohli + Rahul should be replaced with Rutu + eshwaran + sai udarshan + jurel + sarfaraz
It takes one match for people like you to push your stars down the drain. All those players you mentioned, they will bundle for less than 100 in these conditions. No wonder these guys are in so much pressure and always fail at the highest level. They won the last match because there was no pressure. No one gave them the chance after the NZ series.
@SHRIVASTAVAFAMILY-p6u kl + rohit +virat ....look at the chances already given to them. And don't forget the controversial t20 wc2024 that we luckily won. Newbies seems ready to go. Also rohit has no business playing tests overseas. He is 10 times worse than dhoni in test batting and 100 times in captaincy. That's what his record says. But unfortunately we are a cult follower.
It's 1-1 already. Innings defeat looming for India. Australia were always going to come back hard, so no surprises really. Why does Jaiswal need to mouth off when his bat is doing all the talking. Today Starc showed the kid who's the boss. Rohit should do a real sacrifice and drop himself from the playing XI. Bring Sarfraz and Jurel in, drop Rohit and Virat. 4-1 for Australia is on!
Australia is not going to commit the same mistake again. They will bat us out of the game. Even Marnus is coming back in form. Bumrah alone can't do everything.
Cmon lads here’s a few tips, and by lads I mean Geoff - CBUS ain’t paying for you to present like a bloke crawling out of a basement somewhere 😅 Need to capture those sweet sweet Indian viewers with idk the correct pronunciations too next time lads (lads means Adam here). Speaking of Adam, he always struck me as a bloke with a chronic blow habit but nope, after watching this podcast again, that’s really just him! Enjoy your cricket sirs.
the best game day review in the business. what a sport test cricket is.
We love it.
@@pbfamous07 Hear! Hear!
Thanks for the unbiased review guys! Keep up the good work! On his day, I agree Mitch Starc is up there with the very best!
Thanks for the kind words. Glad to have you onboard
Siraj goes complete mad max mode tmrw & blows AUS for under 200....You heard it here first...
Comeback here tomorrow we will tLk
Huh really😂
@@amitm2692 what happened buddy. Did you mean to say India will blow out for under 200 in second innings and Siraj takes fifer(read 5 runs)
aged badly
@@sachinchandrashekar5872 Yeah... 😂. But the match is not over yet....

I like aussies making a great comeback . Keeps India grounded

You're just being too critical about siraj ik he didn't do well but there are still 4 days
@ I’m being pretty fair. Siraj is an extremely blow hot, blow cold type bowler.
@@nikunjdixit1175 siraj bowls well but it's that some times he doesn't get wickets...if you watch all the matches you know that he bowls beautifully.

Yes! Good to see you.
@ didn’t watched a bowl as it was work day today. Got everything here that i need to know, keep the good work going guys.

It's always summer when the cricket is on.
When Ashwin scored 22 I knew this is a batting pitch. Only the quality of the bowlers making it hard for average batsmen(on both sides)
Super review gents. Great
Glad you enjoyed it!
India won the toss, had all the conditions on their side and and Australia is right on top. Massive bounce back day of cricket.
Don’t sledge our legends Yash! Just don’t! 🎉🎉🎉

drop virat? He scored a century in the last match, you nuts lol

A century after how many years? That too, piggy backing on a 200 runs opening stand.
