Laundry nerd here! I read any article I come across about doing laundry! Over the years, the "laundry pearls" I learned are--NOT to use fabric softener on towels and use half the amount of detergent you normally would. Fabric softener, over time, builds up on the towel causing them to become less absorbent. By using HALF the amount of detergent I had been using, I am no longer having to double rinse them. The last big thing for me was learning I was using too much detergent for large loads of any type. Cutting back to the "2" mark on the measuring lid of my liquid detergent was all that is really needed and, again, saves me from double rinsing (I have a front loader and if I see soap suds in the rubber gasket when I open the door, I do another rinse). Yes, I am definitely a laundry nerd!
There's a guy on youtube that repairs washers. He says fabric softeners ruin your washing machine because it gets trapped in the outer tub. Builds up , then people buy a new one He goes in and cleans it out, and it runs fine. He also recommends vinegar for a fabric softener.

A tip i learned over the years is to put sets of sheets into one of the pillow cases. This way, you have a full set and dont have to go through the stacks to find all the pieces. Great video.
I used to do housekeeping in a hotel. The laundry lady would fold the pillow case and fitted sheet and put them in the folded flat sheet like a book. It kept the sets together.
I do a version of this - I fold the fitted and flat sheets and one pillow case and put it all into the other pillow case. Makes it easy to keep as a set. 😊

Years ago I got a flip n fold. It’s a little bit big. I used to fold the clothes on my bed. I even saw it on The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon used it of course he did. My husband and I are retired now. He does the laundry but I fold the clothes. I don’t drag out the flip n fold anymore though. But you definitely have some folding skills girl! I love watching the sheet and blanket folding video you posted. Of course I can’t get the hang of the queen fitted sheets but I do my best. Thank you for helping out these people. 🥰

I have an idea. You should go hang out at your local laundromat and just tell people you volunteer to fold their clothes for free. They can take out their underwear first and you can fold the rest. Lol! 😂
I love doing laundry it's so relaxing I come home from work and my husband has washed everything and I'll sit down and put on a video and fold away and relax. My job isn't just very mentally taxing ... I work with physically and mentally disabled adults and children I have a 40 something client with a 5 yr cognitive age so I have to b able to treat him as an adult but make it understandable and fun for a 5 year old so my mind has be in 2 places kind of thing I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my job... but coming home and folding laundry is the best way to relax the soft and clean smell and then the perfect piles ugh I love it 😀 😍

Yesterday I learned my daughter uses 1 tablespoon of tide fry detergent 1 tablespoon of Oxiclean 1 tablespoon of baking Soda In the dispenser of her front load washer, color me AMAZED!

I've actually been thinking about possible design ideas! For example, your favorite tools to use, scrapers, squeegie, tile scrub, detail brushes, maybe all those together with something that makes it specifically *you*. I don't know if you'd be into this or not, but I had the image of you (and other free cleaners) like as superheroes, and their powers are being great at cleaning and enjoying helping others, each with their own niche, like the justice league of cleaning or individual hero on each shirt. I think it would be fun, and something people would love to buy, but then it has to be something you're comfortable with of course. You know how Marvel and all that is super popular now, but you're like actual real heroes doing some justice for these people. Could also be like a Mary Poppins type of hero haha :) Just a spoonful of baking soda 🤣
I've been trying to think of some designs along those lines. It would be fun to do a shirt like that for a collaboration. Like when Mack, Barbie, Coline, and I do a collaboration together at some point. It would be fun to have a shirt where we are all superheroes. I love the idea of a spoonful of baking soda...haha!
I really love what you do fir others, God love you for caring for his people. I really wish that what is broken in them could miraculously be fixed but it took a long time to break some of them and will take a while if ever to help them mentally and some physically but you give them a piece of who they are back. God bless you for your service. PS you sound like my girl who i watch called Jamie's Journey on RUclips.
That's some very good insight. It did take a while to break them and hopefully I just get them started on their Journey back to a better mental state. It really is incredible to see the change in them though when they realize that someone cares and isn't going to judge them for their brokenness. That change is immediate, and I've seen it with most of the people I've helped. It's very rewarding to see that, and I can usually tell immediately those who are going to do well on their healing journey. There are a couple of people I have helped who I don't think are quite ready to help themselves, but at least I did my best to give them a jump start.
Me, too!!! I use a couple tablespoons of vinegar and about a tablespoon of OdoBan in my fabric softener compartment with every load. It works so well to kill off all the bacteria and it smells great!
Total laundry nerd!! My daughter is the worst about folding clothes. They pile in baskets after she washes clothes. I’ve been known to go to her house after she goes to work and fold her laundry 😅

I could literally fold laundry all day and not get tired of it. It's just the best! My brother is the one who will be doing my merchandise shop and, since mine and Mira's will be his first RUclips merch shop, he needs to get a couple of things set up before we can start selling anything. He said it would be about 1 to 2 months, but those Mira and I are coming up with different ideas in the meantime. So, stay tuned. 😁

Hey Bonnie! Of coarse im still here...i love watching your videos! Quick question...when do you add your HM laundry soap to your load of laundry? Before you add your clothes, or after? I have a top loader.
I make my own laundry soap and borax is in it and I have never had any problems with my machine or skin. I have very sensitive skin and borax does not bother it at all.
I tried to take a lady’s laundry to the laundromat and we forgot the money! 🤣 And we had like 11 loads and only two washers were open and they cost like $6 each load! So I took it home 😂
Yeah, it can get a little expensive, but totally worth it to me to get it done all at once. I think it's one of the biggest things I can do to help her out. Those types of things really slow progress when she needs to focus on making decisions about things that I can't help with. Plus, ya know, I love my laundry! 😄
Maybe I'm a laundry nerd and didn't realize it. lol Enjoyed the video. Question, why were you folding the tshirts in two different ways? And can you show that interesting method in another video. Tutorial please, I couldn't tell exactly what you were doing. Have you ever used one of the folding boards? I think they're called flip and fold or something like that. I have one and they work well. When I worked retail years ago we had a board we used so that all the displays looked the same.
I find that the smaller shirts I can fold easier using the method you see me use for those, but the larger shirts are easier to fold with that "interesting" method. Maybe I will do a RUclips short with a tutorial after I am done with this hoarder house.

What’s your actual recipe and when do you add the vinegar and how much? I use it but my stuff always smells like vinegar, which I don’t like. I will say this, I use 50/50 white cooking vinegar and water on my hair after I get it wet, let it sit, rinse it out and then use my shampoo. If I doing do it got days, oh my gosh my hair feels so gunky! Then when I use the vinegar, my hair immediately is super soft End easy to brush through, even when wet. So I totally believe that it has a benefit on clear the hard water gunk out of the washing machines!

I just can't fold the way you do. I'm not as coordinated and also was raised to hang all pants and t-shirts. We put underwear, socks, shorts, night clothes, and sheets in our dressers.
I have started doing that exact thing with my sheets and I even folded sets together when I folded Tisha's laundry at the end of the "Providing Practical Help for a Friend or Family Member..." video. It was a super sped up timelapse though, so it's hard to tell. But I love doing that now to keep everything together.
Laundry nerds, maybe you can help me with something. My husband is super oily. My sheets get SUPER stinky and oily. I wash them every Sunday. I have tried all the detergents out there, dawn dish soap, vinegar, etc. What gets the body oil out? Also, great job!
I haven't had to deal with this personally, however, the lady I just helped ("Mariah") who is a massage therapist and has to deal with very oily sheets because she uses essential oils and other oils in her practice, says that she uses Simple Green to get the oil out of her sheets. If you watched the video where I fold all the sheets with Cydnie, those are the ones she uses and there were only a couple that had stains or smelled oily and needed to be rewashed, so it must work pretty well. I would imagine it would work on body oils, too. Maybe soak them in some water with Simple Green for a few hours before washing them?
I just can't believe that barely a tablespoon of detergent gets a whole load clean! 🤯 I use probably 10 - 15 times as much (regular detergent though). My whole life has been a lie! 😅 I will be cutting right down. Unless you have to use more of the ready made stuff 🤔
This is very concentrated, but your whole life has been a lie... haha! Even with the store-bought laundry detergent, I used to use half of what it told me to because otherwise I felt like it left a residue and then my towels would start to stink. I think, no matter what you use, if you use vinegar instead of fabric softener, it helps to get rid of that residue.
Am I the only one left that has to iron there laundry? What am I doing wrong? I always take it out and hang it all on an airier the moment the wash finishes. Tips please!?
I still have to iron occasionally when I do larger loads and they don't have as much room to "breathe" as they are drying, but I think the wool dryer balls help with the wrinkles. I will also sometimes throw in a damp rag with a little bit of vinegar on it to "refresh" the batch of laundry if I have left it in the dryer too long just to get out some of the wrinkles. There is something about the vinegar that helps with getting the wrinkles out.
Because I have used it for so many years, I couldn't really say whether it works as well as, say, Tide, but I still do spot treating on stains with spot-removing sprays before washing. I have also used it with bleach on whites and it works great.
I live a long ways from you though. I live in Rossville GA, next door to Chattanooga, TN I just keep watching hung your organization stuff and may I will learn some things. My husbands areas need it a lot.
Sadly, no. I think I know what you are talking about and the only thing I can think to get rid of that would be to wash the entire carpet. I'm assuming you mean the spots that show up when you spot treat and then it leaves kind of a ring around the area you spot treated?

Yesterday I learned my daughter uses
1 tablespoon of tide fry detergent
1 tablespoon of Oxiclean
1 tablespoon of baking Soda
In the dispenser of her front load washer, color me AMAZED!

I've actually been thinking about possible design ideas! For example, your favorite tools to use, scrapers, squeegie, tile scrub, detail brushes, maybe all those together with something that makes it specifically *you*. I don't know if you'd be into this or not, but I had the image of you (and other free cleaners) like as superheroes, and their powers are being great at cleaning and enjoying helping others, each with their own niche, like the justice league of cleaning or individual hero on each shirt. I think it would be fun, and something people would love to buy, but then it has to be something you're comfortable with of course. You know how Marvel and all that is super popular now, but you're like actual real heroes doing some justice for these people. Could also be like a Mary Poppins type of hero haha :) Just a spoonful of baking soda 🤣
I've been trying to think of some designs along those lines. It would be fun to do a shirt like that for a collaboration. Like when Mack, Barbie, Coline, and I do a collaboration together at some point. It would be fun to have a shirt where we are all superheroes. I love the idea of a spoonful of baking soda...haha!
I really love what you do fir others, God love you for caring for his people. I really wish that what is broken in them could miraculously be fixed but it took a long time to break some of them and will take a while if ever to help them mentally and some physically but you give them a piece of who they are back. God bless you for your service. PS you sound like my girl who i watch called Jamie's Journey on RUclips.
That's some very good insight. It did take a while to break them and hopefully I just get them started on their Journey back to a better mental state. It really is incredible to see the change in them though when they realize that someone cares and isn't going to judge them for their brokenness. That change is immediate, and I've seen it with most of the people I've helped. It's very rewarding to see that, and I can usually tell immediately those who are going to do well on their healing journey. There are a couple of people I have helped who I don't think are quite ready to help themselves, but at least I did my best to give them a jump start.
Oh, and I will have to check out Jamie's journey.

I don’t use fabric softener but I do use Odoban instead. No static cling and smells good too.
Me, too!!! I use a couple tablespoons of vinegar and about a tablespoon of OdoBan in my fabric softener compartment with every load. It works so well to kill off all the bacteria and it smells great!
Total laundry nerd!! My daughter is the worst about folding clothes. They pile in baskets after she washes clothes. I’ve been known to go to her house after she goes to work and fold her laundry 😅

I could literally fold laundry all day and not get tired of it. It's just the best! My brother is the one who will be doing my merchandise shop and, since mine and Mira's will be his first RUclips merch shop, he needs to get a couple of things set up before we can start selling anything. He said it would be about 1 to 2 months, but those Mira and I are coming up with different ideas in the meantime. So, stay tuned. 😁

Guess I'll go back and watch your video on that. I watch a lady that basically cleans her own house most of the time and she always says " nobody really likes to clean, we just have to do it". I actually have a drawer that I put it in and it dispenses it for me, but if you don't have a drawer, I would add it after you put the clothes in.

I make my own laundry soap and borax is in it and I have never had any problems with my machine or skin. I have very sensitive skin and borax does not bother it at all.
I tried to take a lady’s laundry to the laundromat and we forgot the money! 🤣 And we had like 11 loads and only two washers were open and they cost like $6 each load! So I took it home 😂
Yeah, it can get a little expensive, but totally worth it to me to get it done all at once. I think it's one of the biggest things I can do to help her out. Those types of things really slow progress when she needs to focus on making decisions about things that I can't help with. Plus, ya know, I love my laundry! 😄

Maybe I'm a laundry nerd and didn't realize it. lol Enjoyed the video. Question, why were you folding the tshirts in two different ways? And can you show that interesting method in another video. Tutorial please, I couldn't tell exactly what you were doing. Have you ever used one of the folding boards? I think they're called flip and fold or something like that. I have one and they work well. When I worked retail years ago we had a board we used so that all the displays looked the same.
I find that the smaller shirts I can fold easier using the method you see me use for those, but the larger shirts are easier to fold with that "interesting" method. Maybe I will do a RUclips short with a tutorial after I am done with this hoarder house.

What’s your actual recipe and when do you add the vinegar and how much? I use it but my stuff always smells like vinegar, which I don’t like. I will say this, I use 50/50 white cooking vinegar and water on my hair after I get it wet, let it sit, rinse it out and then use my shampoo. If I doing do it got days, oh my gosh my hair feels so gunky! Then when I use the vinegar, my hair immediately is super soft End easy to brush through, even when wet. So I totally believe that it has a benefit on clear the hard water gunk out of the washing machines!

That is the link to the video with the recipe. I list all the ingredients at the end of the video. I add the vinegar into the same compartment where you would put fabric softener, so it disperses during the rinse cycle. I'll have to try the vinegar rinse in my hair. That sounds amazing!

I just can't fold the way you do. I'm not as coordinated and also was raised to hang all pants and t-shirts. We put underwear, socks, shorts, night clothes, and sheets in our dressers.

I have started doing that exact thing with my sheets and I even folded sets together when I folded Tisha's laundry at the end of the "Providing Practical Help for a Friend or Family Member..." video. It was a super sped up timelapse though, so it's hard to tell. But I love doing that now to keep everything together.

Laundry nerds, maybe you can help me with something. My husband is super oily. My sheets get SUPER stinky and oily. I wash them every Sunday. I have tried all the detergents out there, dawn dish soap, vinegar, etc. What gets the body oil out?

I haven't had to deal with this personally, however, the lady I just helped ("Mariah") who is a massage therapist and has to deal with very oily sheets because she uses essential oils and other oils in her practice, says that she uses Simple Green to get the oil out of her sheets. If you watched the video where I fold all the sheets with Cydnie, those are the ones she uses and there were only a couple that had stains or smelled oily and needed to be rewashed, so it must work pretty well. I would imagine it would work on body oils, too. Maybe soak them in some water with Simple Green for a few hours before washing them?

I just can't believe that barely a tablespoon of detergent gets a whole load clean! 🤯 I use probably 10 - 15 times as much (regular detergent though). My whole life has been a lie! 😅 I will be cutting right down. Unless you have to use more of the ready made stuff 🤔
This is very concentrated, but your whole life has been a lie... haha! Even with the store-bought laundry detergent, I used to use half of what it told me to because otherwise I felt like it left a residue and then my towels would start to stink. I think, no matter what you use, if you use vinegar instead of fabric softener, it helps to get rid of that residue.
Am I the only one left that has to iron there laundry? What am I doing wrong? I always take it out and hang it all on an airier the moment the wash finishes. Tips please!?
I still have to iron occasionally when I do larger loads and they don't have as much room to "breathe" as they are drying, but I think the wool dryer balls help with the wrinkles. I will also sometimes throw in a damp rag with a little bit of vinegar on it to "refresh" the batch of laundry if I have left it in the dryer too long just to get out some of the wrinkles. There is something about the vinegar that helps with getting the wrinkles out.
How well does it clean and can I use spot removing sprays. Also does bleach work with it on whites?
Because I have used it for so many years, I couldn't really say whether it works as well as, say, Tide, but I still do spot treating on stains with spot-removing sprays before washing. I have also used it with bleach on whites and it works great.
I live a long ways from you though. I live in Rossville GA, next door to Chattanooga, TN I just keep watching hung your organization stuff and may I will learn some things. My husbands areas need it a lot.

Sadly, no. I think I know what you are talking about and the only thing I can think to get rid of that would be to wash the entire carpet. I'm assuming you mean the spots that show up when you spot treat and then it leaves kind of a ring around the area you spot treated?
