Mmmm.. not necessarily. I'm guessing injectors leaking causing a rich condition cuz I have a mix of index 7, 8 and 9's on both banks. But so far my 335i has been driving like a dream except for some minor misfires from cold starts which I'm hoping is leaky injectors. Sorry if this ain't comprehensive or a final answer. Been slacking my maintenance haha
I figured it out, 5 of my injectors were leaking one of them was stuck open. You can test your injectors by having them face the driver side and have the wire unplugged and have the crank pressure test them if they get wet it means its leaking or looking up on RUclips (n54 injector test). I would also check your oil filter to see if gas has mixed with your oil, before it's too late.
I had same symptoms on stock tune when accelerating. After replacing all 6 injectors with updated index 12, these symptoms went away. no more black puffs when doing pulls or revving like in this video. Good luck brotha.
@@Fungustus1 sweet glad you fixed it. Im experiencing basically the same issue right now. Smoke on revs and on downshifts. Smells like rich fuel. Injector #4 seems to be leaking. I have a titan silber 08 with 68k on it with pure turbos. Things a monster… when it runs that is.
@@gasgod7404 yoooo! Those turbos are on my wish list! glad you're liking the performance... when it runs hahaha. Got my titansilver 6mt at 61k miles too, and I've literally gone down the list of common problems except HPFP lmaooo. Money pit for sure but no regrets. Sitting at 88k miles, 10k of them with mhd stg1 tune. she hasn't left me stranded, water pump is next on the list.
@@Fungustus1 yes at least mine hasnt left me stranded yet too… lol. No regrets here either. I have very few maintenance things left to do as well so hopefully she will be running good and strong for a while after that.

I’ve recently got an 335i its stage 2 whenever I accelerate it fully black smoke come out is that normal?

Injectors, does the smoke smell like fuel?
On the money, almost all of my symptoms went away after index 12 swappage.
