- Ultimate Witcher 3 Endgame Sign Build - Griffin Sign Build (Witcher 3 Next Gen Build)
Today we're going to go through my endgame Witcher 3 sign build; I'm using the Griffin witcher gear here for the amazing set bonuses that combine with Yrden. Yrden is a versatile sign that can be used defensively or offensively. Here we are combining it with Igni to deal insane amounts of damage!

Should I do a Combat or Alchemy build? 😀
Alchemy
Go combat. Alchemy gets absolutely bonkers. Want to see what you can do with straight combat.
Alchemy next
Alchemy
Alchemy!!! Without doubts
Ekimara decoction would really go well with this build. Any time you deal damage in any way, it heals you a bit. Have that with maxed out yrden, and you heal from them just standing in your trap
Really like this build I'm doing something similar I'd personally recommend removing melt armor. Most enemies in the game have very little armor and a large portion don't have any armor rating at all. Focus makes it so adrenaline points also boost sign intensity which is pretty nice
How ?
wicj skill do you reccomend for adrenaline points?
The 6/6 bonus you get with the griffin swords are great, but running Aerondight and Vitis with Conductors of magic just carries you through NG+ until you can craft their legendary variants. (Plus, not being married to the set bonuses in general lets you chase new armor sets early on.)
I’m too invested in a 6/6 Griffin School build. I’ve been a Griffin School Main since 2015 lol it’s all I know but I know it really, really, REALLY well lol
Previously I would run Aerondight but now that Legendary Sets grant bonuses I’ve switched to the Griffin Silver and Steel Swords.
Thats good cause marriage scares me 😅
Can you review what you are placing in the Sword and armor slots please ?
Great guide. New to the game. Just wondering if I need to put the Replenishment runeword on both my swords?
So I did this build as is on LV 50 ...like you said with 6 points to spare. I was just wondering what glyphs and runes are you using on your swords, gloves, trousers, and boots?
I use magic sensibilities as core skill. It is so broken. I have 60% of critical hit chance and above 400% damage bonus. Main damage source will be Yrden trap with a armour enchantments called Entanlement. When Yrden trap hit a target it will create a Standard Yrden where the target stands. You can use Ekhidna decoction for healing. It heals you when ever you use stamina.
I have a question about entanglement since I'm not that far into the game yet but does the number of traps from using entanglement exceed the standard 2 or is 2 traps still the max? Like if I have a group of a dozen can I have a dozen traps on the ground at the same time?
@NorZZa Mind telling me what you used for sword runes?
Getting a free quen at the start of combat is nice and all, but what do you think about using Entanglement? The build leans heavily into yrden so if I understand the rune right you can literally control the battlefield with placing your yrden alt at the start of combat. Or does it not work that well in practice?
Brilliant build, cheers!
What'd you put on your swoeds?
iv just started leveling a new character in a sign build for the first time and yrden makes things so much easier even b4 u get to supercharged glyphs, i used to struggle with foglets on my other sword focused build but even at lvl 13 with upscaling on i was taking out 4 foglets that were lvl 15 or 16 with only a little trouble when my "turret" ran out, cant believe iv played well over 300hrs on other chrs and hardly used yrden lol, build looks pretty decent and i will definitely use most of it with slight tweaks to abilities and enchants, cheers for the vid its much appreciated
Damnn how do u play smoothly with those effects? Mine keep stuttering like crazyy after the updates
Why use Conductors of Magic instead of Magic Sensibilities wenn leaning into signs?
Could you please show which runes you use on the swords???
At 2:36, he recommends using the replenishment runes.
How do you make the yrden look like a dome like at 7:48?
why animation different when placing trap?
Im playing with something similar to this build, its awefully fun!!! :P
Does Quen get nerfed in this update? I always get one shoot from toad prince on ng+ death march.
Yes. As far as I can tell they worked in what one mod did by rebalancing things such as Quen. The amount of shielding and vitality recovered depends a great deal more on (Quen) sign intensity now.
Genuine question How does he have additional perk slots and what is that thing in the middle of his perks
It's unlocked from a quest in the Blood and wine expansion.
There is also mod for Black or Brown Griffin armor that looks so cool on Nexusmod
This build is sweet
Maybe I didn't look close enough, but i couldn't find which runes you have equipped on your swords. Would you mind sharing that?
same man
@@samuelcross3945 then I will watch the video again. Probably missed it, just saw the armor runes from what I can remember.
At 2:36, he recommends using the replenishment runes for both swords.
Please do an early-mid game sign build
Yes, I would like this as well. I’m now lvl 22 and have the advanced griffin set. And all the signs unlocked
This is a real issue with these witcher guides, what you see here is end game and you will have to be around level 40-42 there is literally about 20% or less of the game.
@@UnreliableUsername true, I’m almost lvl26 and have all the signs unlocked as in the video. And it’s already very powerful.
Sadly the way the game mechanics work there is no such thing as an early game build you can be quite strong in the early game and stay strong throughout and get more powerfull but a „build“ in this game is focused around a Witcher armor set and its special potent set buffs, these however only activate when you are in Possesion of master level armor, before that just make sure too get yourself good mutagens, stock your perk slots out with blue perks for the sign intesety bonus and use the regular griffin set and keep upgrading it throughout.
Can you make a sign/alch build ?
How does this man have so much money?! My Geralt is living hand to mouth all the time lol
hahaha. The endgame save I used for this build may have a Geralt that cheated in some money a long time ago ;).
Definitely didn't go over the swords at all really .... I think you barley mention replenishment maybe. And also you never mentioned that sadly this build only allows one decoction and that's it. The only decoction that makes sense is the ancient leshen. Maybe the ekhidna if you wanna get health back but u have quen for that. But other than that it's a great build that rivals the op yrden/aard control build. Also the free quen sign is nice but entanglement might be better 🤔
What about an ALL bleed build or all quen build?
I'm making a combat build that includes bleed right now 😏
What would be the last 2 spots that are not used yet ?
probably the last two Igni and Quen abilities.
What about gourmet? Is there anything here that can be replaced with gourmet for death march difficulty? Or is it generally a beginning game skill that can be replaced?
@@RuRoPrd gourmet is not worth it after the new update. food got nerfed hard
@@norzza the last igni perk doesn't do anything as your % of applying burn is already 100% tho
Have the number of skill points needed to unlock higher tiers in the skill tree been reduced? Considering that max level of skills has been neerfed
I believe it has been yeah.
The skills haven't been weakened, they have the same effect at level 3 as they used to have at level 5
I love this build. Started a new game and just hit lvl4. No idea what I should get first. Or in what order
This is basically the build I’m using now, and I went into Igni and Aard first, all enchantments are geared towards making them stronger, get the 30% more light or heavy damage after that, whichever you prefer but light attacks synergise a bit better with the armour. Exploding sheild next, then maybe the food lasts 20mins and 5% more sign damage per medium armour perk. Upgrade the armour every chance you get, as it boosts sign level. I really love the last of the igni tree ability to guarantee setting stuff on fire. I’ve melted everything so far. Enjoy 👍
@@khimaros thanks a lot , really appreciate this.
I'd recommend Entangle as your armor enchantment rather than Protection. If not that, the 360 Igni enchantment. I don't think Protection is the right call here.
No aard?
Imma do like I did in the og game a spell sword build the bombs, oils, and most potions work fine as they are to me without points to alchemy whatever the build ya choose have fun
All builds mate.. Do them all! 😂 😂
Is Piercing Cold good at all? Or is igni too strong?
piercing cold is very good, if you invest in aard dealing damage and increase its radius it is very good. the griffin set or forgotten wolven grandmaster set are best for that.
@@gavinstanwood7786 That's what I want. I want to try that a full fledge sign build piercing cold with about the above setting (Cept for igni-->aard) but I'm worried on DM NG+ especially at the beginning when I lose the GrandMaster Bonus (for the upgraded Legendary one) I will be come a complete glass canon without the canon.
its not as good late game NG+. Magic Sensibillities or Conductors is best and more flexible. Especially against tough bosses which piercing cold doesn't do shit to them.
Still working on my first playthrough, signs looks dope but I heard alchemy is nuts. Can I get a breakdown on the best alchemy skills to use?
Alch builds that are designed for damage are mostly sprinkled for combat builds. Except for metamorphosis maybe, but even then that will only fill the extra 4 slots and 3 mutagen slots at best.
Alchemy was nerfed in the next gen update. It's good still , but not nuts now
@@sannidhyabalkote9536 facts, a little upset but sign build looks much better now
@@AB-sp5hm it's not ridiculously op now , and much properly balanced now .
It's a win win for me
Sign sword build for the Wolf School armor is needed please
It's out now!
@@norzza I saw! Thank you!!!
Did I miss him discuss his mutagen choice or is it just me?
Is Delusion a good sign skill?
yes
@@TheMightySimpGod appreciate the comment but this is a year old 😭😭
@@Angelp99 XD
Would this be a good build for DM?
Yes! All these builds are on Death March 🤙
@@norzza Thanks. I'm on LV50 playing story. Already have GM Griffin. I still have to the Detlaf quest line and then off to Eridin. Standard edition. My complete edition on DM is a whole other story😦
any tips to turn this into a sign-sword build?
don't really know how to make that possible without alchemy honestly
Check my Wolven Warrior build, it's exactly what your looking for.
Are you in new game+ with this build?
No just at the end of most of the content with upscaling turned on.
Is there a sign build without Griffin Gear ?
that would be like having a bleed build without wolven gear, each gear set is made more for 1 type of gameplay than the others, yes u will still be able to do ok damage in whatever gear u wear but theres so much sign specific buff to the griffen gear u would be basically nerfing urself
The Forgotten Wolves (Netflix) gear is a pretty fun and powerful sign build that focuses on Yrden and Aard (piercing cold) combo. Use entanglement with magic trap and you'll destroy groups in 1-2 casts.
Another one is kinda niche but I had some fun with which is Flood of Anger, Ursine set (Balanced enchantment to make it medium) and then build around tons of adrenaline skills, adrenaline burst and focus. This is basically a hybrid with huge burst signs but focuses around building up 3 adrenaline points and then using flood of anger to cast max level signs.
Combat build please
Sounds good, Light attack or heavy attack build?
@@norzza light! Cat school is fun
Wow this is mod in pc ?
Mine is similar but I think, better.
you should max out all the sign perks on the third tier mainly the intensity of each sign cuz there's a hidden mechanic regarding those perks which buffs all your signs across the board and it stacks also use blue mutagens in all your slots if you really wanna focus on sign intensity and should also consider the focus perk in the general perks
Wait so the sign intensities buff overall intensity, or?
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 in the third tier of the signs perks yes, at least that's how it functioned on old gen
@@o0TraceuR0o but the 3rd tier says that it buffs specific sign intensity not overall. for example, ard skill tree buffs ard sign intensity, not igni.
It's not a hidden mechanic it's common sense. Sign intensity takes the aggregate sign intensity of all your signs. So if you get +30% sign intensity that means +6% total sign intensity
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 ik but im guessing it's scripted wrong i mean like i said worked like that on old gen, try to get some of those perks and slot them in and try testing it out
How come it’s a grind too make money in this game I’m poor lol
It gets easier the further you get in the game, but it's an absolute grind. Don't forgot to go to the Vivaldi bank in Novigrad to change your Orens and Florens into crowns.
@@norzza I just beat the main story now I’m doing the heart and stone dlc and oh I didn’t know u can change currency
@@norzza ok that kinda helped I had a lot lol
Honey combs are your friend, use igni to burn bees nests off trees, they sell for 7 each and theirs hundreds of them throughout the game.
Bruh... Go to the cows east of novigrad, their pelt seals for 42 gold each, you can make 20k+ in one or two runs.
low fps build
Don't bother with firestream. It does less damage without having any benefits
does it actually? idk about that but at least it breaks shields
@@BuGGyBoBerl yeah it's complete garbage in every way
@@jimmyjimber6535 what are you doing vs shield enemies then?
overall im curious how to beat fire immune enemies
@@BuGGyBoBerl just use yrden and aard on them. Both deal damage proportional to the enemies total health. Aard really chunks away at the start of the fight and the last bit of hp is pretty simple to finish with yrden or swords
@@jimmyjimber6535 thanks a lot. but as i remember, didnt aard scale in absolute numbers and not proportional? if not, what should be upgraded there?
Would this or your woven build be better for noobs who can't defend the well?
definitely start using yrden as it makes fights so much easier even if ur a sword build, being able to slow enemies down especially when they jump at u makes a lot of difference, especially when its a group of fast enemies like wolves, dogs, drowners or nekkers
Try this...
Witcher 3 Sign Decoction build
Gear:
Grandmaster Griffin/Lost Wolf set
Echidna Decoction (Regen health on sign cast)
Ancient Leshen decoction (Increase stamina regen with every sign cast)
Troll Decoction (Passive regen to offset toxicity damage)
Superior Petri's Philter/Tawny Owl
Skills:
Tissue transmutation (+2700 hp w/ decoctions active)
Synergy (Buffs mutagens)
Acquired Tolerance (More potions)
Griffin School Techniques
Delusion (Can switch w/ an intensity skill)
Sustained Glyphs
Far Reaching Aard
Aard Sweep
Shock Wave
Melt Armor
Firestream
Magic Trap
Conductors of Magic/Piercing Cold:
Exploding Shield
Active Shield
Quen Discharge
Supercharged Glyphs
ULTIMATE ENDGAME BUILD...you don't even have all your mutagen slots unlocked. And, It's just you killing the same werewolf over and over.
