- Demonstrators have clashed with police in the western German city of Essen, where the far-right Alternative for Germany party is holding its summer conference. Police used pepper spray after some tried to break through a police cordon. As many as 100,000 protesters are expected to appear outside the two-day event. Authorities say they expect most to be peaceful, but that some may try to disrupt the conference.
The AfD is riding high following recent electoral successes, despite a series of scandals. But observers say in-fighting could see the AfD shift even further to the right.

What is appealing about the far right, or far left for that matter, is the wrong question. The question is what is not appealing wth the status quo. Extremist parties, right or left are fueled by the failure of governments in assuring the well being and prosperity of their citizens. Misery and struggle will always seek an alternative. It is easier to call the challengers of the status quo names than to solve the problems of rubbish governance. Basically, governments, through disregard for the well being and prosperity of their citizens fuel these extremist parties. He who is starving is not too picky about where his next meal comes from.

No, I just listen to what the politicians of each Party espouse, what the Parties write in their printed materials, and than compare all of that to existing historical evidence from the 20th and 21st centuries.
It's called 'comparative analysis' and 'contextual understanding'.

The people who occupy the ranks of that hierarchy change, but the strata of the hierarchy always remain in existence. People complain because of their status in that hierarchy. But that is simply life. The vast majority of people will never alter their status in the hierarchy. Now people fear that foreigners are displacing natives in the hierarchy. And because that might serve the interests of the ruling class, then that might be true.
Too many (non European) foreigners in Germany and Europe - Germany, Europe and Western Countries with European descent populations: need to preserve their populations, ethno-european culture and their traditional institutions for the benefit of the world - before every country ends up parallel to what happened to post colonial Haiti and post Mandela South Afrika.

Ethno nationalism has never, in all it's various incarnations, been "for the benefit of the world" or lead to positive outcomes. Using pretty words doesn't change that what you're advocating for is nothing new, it's only ever lead to the darkest chapters of European history.

Germany needs skilled immigrants and they might see this as a major red flag to come to Germany.

If we as ordinary people could stop seeing the left or right─our fellow citizens─ as enemies then the politicians would lose all power over us. They play on our emotions and fears to manipulate us. Politicians and politicial parties are rich yet we still donate lots of money to them.
