Keep the forge lit. 🔥
Tim.
Hi Tim, love the tomahawk predecessor. Beautifully done.
The axe man cometh a deadly looking tool,a talented man you are Timothy!
That's a pretty nice Boarding Axe you've made there
Im a sucker for the forged look too great choice! Beautiful
Would love to win this! Super sweet!
The Predecessor Tomahawk build/design is really sweet. Hope you are considering putting it into production at some point! It is so cool!
Having fun is the best reason. The finish is sweet; you forged it, and it should look like it was forged. "Predecessor Tomahawk" is a great name.
The wire brushed forge finish was defiantly the right choice, looks nice.
Wire brushed is such a quick finish to get, yet looks so good ! All my stuff end up having that finish 😂
Your attention to detail when making this Tomahawk is incredible. The simplicity of the piece is incredibly satisfying and really shows your skills as a blacksmith.
That is pretty cool! And the name "Predecessor" has a pretty nice ring to it. As a history nerd, I'm also a sucker for the "As Forged" finish. Nice work as always.
Sitting in my soon to be blacksmiths workshop, sorting through the boxes, just mounted the TV on the wall and started watching blacksmithing/knifemaking videos to set the scene in the shop! The Tomahawk would be so welcome here.
This is how tomahawks should be. Understated power and elegance.
As a fellow smith of prominent nosage, which came from the Native American side of my family, (my profile looks like the face of an old Nickel, lol), the progenitors of the Tomahawk: I enthusiastically approve and endorse this build.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, TIM!
That thing is AWESOME! My 16 year old told me he’d like to try blacksmithing. He’ll find out what calluses are soon. It will be fun making stuff together.
The Predecessor is gorgeous! Would love to have it as a family heirloom. Something I can use with my kids and pass down from generation to generation.
Keeping an old design alive and sharing it with the world love it
Don’t worry about keeping it “original” there’s a time and place for that, and your design is cool as hell and distinct, be proud of your creation!
I'm so amazed that you can see a tomahawk in that small piece of spring. Keep up the good work
I really like the forged finish too! Mill scale and all! Looks exactly the way you would expect a predecessor to look.
That's about as close to perfection as it comes. Whoever ends up with it is one lucky person!!
It looks great. I like that you put your personal spin on it rather than just copying the other.
This is very medieval feeling, love the way it came out
Forged scale finish was the only way for this piece! Love it
That looks great. I love the mirrored butt and the scale finish. The combination bridges the gap between workhorse tool and display piece.
I like when a project gets designed or modified on the go. Jazz forging.
One of the best forging videos I have seen in a long time, I especially like the explanation on freeing the punch at the power hammer.
Your take on the shape is much more dynamic than the one, you were inspired by. Well done!
Love this design. Looks light and nimble with enough weight and heft to get work done. Beautiful
I love the contrast of the forged finish and mirror polished hammer face!
I really like that you didn't leave the eye square. the peak really makes this unique.
What a great guy to put so much time & effort into this unique Tomahawk just to give it away. Thanks for all of your videos Tim!!!
This thing is way too cool. I used to throw tomahawks when I worked as a Wild West actor, and this thing immediately made me want to start again!
Love how you wanted to replicate something and you made it your own.
Looks amazing Tim!
You forgot to weigh it again.😆 The original was slimmed down more to reduce mass and swing weight.
Can't wait to see the various prototypes. Which you should sell or give away.
I think you would sell a ton of Tomahawks!
Love the design. I like the original design for the function but I love your design because it’s form and function.
Hey, Keep-the-forge-lit-eh Guy!! Yes indeed, that Predecessor Tomahawk would be an asset for me, no doubt! Was an honor to watch you make it, even. Keep the forge lit, eh!? - Johnny
"The Prédécessor " good name for a Axe/hammer . Amazing job
Honestly, I liked the scale on it. Gave it a weathered and refurbished look. Looks good regardless!
Very cool looking axe. The ridge on the side of the ryr really brings out character. Morden and traditional looking at the same time.
Simple but so much attention to detail. Would be an amazing heirloom piece! Good luck to everyone!!
I allways found the Tomahawk design very practical. An ax and a hammer in a small praktical package. Enough for any campingtrip.
I really love the way you changed it from the original it just gave it a really nice touch of class
The combination of the polished working edge and face with the brushed finished turned out perfect!
Love your work, learning a lot about what it means to just be yourself and make the work of your hands show who you are. Keep it up, my man!
Beautiful job. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Merry Christmas Timothy. Love the Predecessor Tomahawk. Beautiful work as always.
Yet another masterpiece. May your holidays be filled with love.
Sweet build and cool name. Almost turned into something a viking would've used. Like it.
This is amazing - thanks for all the cool videos Tim!
That looks great! I love the modern twist that the more angular design seems to give it.

Slick take on the original! Your proportions are a little more pleasing and the scalloping is a nice touch! I really enjoy watching your design process and workflow!

I love that tomahawk. All the lines just flow together really nicely and the polished blade and back are sweet!! 👍 Hope you have a great Christmas, Tim 😊👍👍👍👍👍
Tim you have such a good eye for lines! You made that thing into your own awesome interpretation that's even better than the original!! Happy Holidays to you and can't wait to see what you do in 2024!

Absolutely love to watch your attention to detail!!!
Saw Will's video and I felt in love with every pound of metal he showed, just like I've done with this old sharp thing. BTW that was the one and only finish to go with, so I'm glad you went for it!
Love this so much! I dig the on the fly design choices.
