I never understand why people want to be so secretive about this kind of stuff. In my opinion there’s enough business out there for all of us and if I can help anybody else succeed then I certainly will. Keeping the kind of printer or paper I use a secret is not gonna give me an edge in the sticker shop world. What sets us apart and what makes our own personal business successful is us as individuals not what kind of ink we use or where we got our paper from. Again there’s more than enough business to go around!!!!!
I had been contemplating a sticker shop for awhile and just pulled the trigger last night purchasing ink jet printer, silhouette cameo, sheet label spectacle and some sample paper for water proof options, cello and rigid mailers. I already have a dymo and bulk labels due to my other business. I have a shelf I need to put up behind my desk to put my printers on yet.

I'm planning to open a sticker/cash envelope shop, but it's almost terrifying about how much competition there is! I'm just hoping to make a premium product to sell and make content for youtube on how we're budgeting with a real estate income! Thanks for all of your information, while the market is terrifying, you're making it easier to dive into. I never would have thought of email lists. Would you suggest creating a separate Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest accounts designed around the shop instead of using personal accounts?
Love these suggestions. I use spectacle matte but my pals are talking me into the buttery matte, which is weatherproof matte from onlinelabels. I have a canon pixma mx922 and love it but I've heard good things!! I definitely agree with collaborating with different shops and participate, comment, and talk to people!! DM people if you like something!!

Bought a Cameo and a photo printer and a bunch of sticker paper when I first decided to, but tried making a sticker sheet with the Silhouette software and cutting it and it just was not all that great. The printer I have came highly recommended and yet I could never get the right settings on it to give me vibrant stickers. Years later I still want to start a shop, but this tech stuff is so far over my head, and I really don't have the money to burn on fees and other things. I need it to be profitable pretty soon after startup. I signed up for your Academy waitlist. Dunno if I can actually afford the course, but since I'm pretty clueless on what I need to do to really make this work for me, I'll see what I can do. I can't imagine making six figures doing this.. but if I could, I could retire my husband and that's the ultimate dream.
You totally can do it! First step is to actually believe that you can - because it IS possible and there's no reason why you can't make it happen for yourself! I hope to see you inside PBA!
I bought some glossy paper from sheet labels a while ago because I thought the quality was good, but now I noticed some of the test stickers I made have faded a bit, even though they were in my notebook and not in sunlight. Have you noticed color fades with the spectacle paper? I’m not sure if it’s the type of paper or if all stickers need to be laminated to prevent it. These videos are really helpful btw! No other videos I’ve seen about opening a sticker shop have mentioned all the fees or anything about legal stuff, though it is important to know, so thank you for the tips!
What are your thoughts on the Canon Pixma printer? You mentioned you had a canon printer what would always break on you so curious what printer it was lol

I always used Online Labels when I lived in Canada, but paid $300 in shipping most times I ordered! It killed me! Hopefully someone else has another option!

I have the HP Envy 7155. I've bought a Cricut Explore air 2 and a pack of Cricut mat sticker paper and I can't print on it. It jams all the time. I'll buy Spectacle Paper from Sheet Labels and I hope it will works.
I've never tried Cricut paper with it! If it keeps happening I'd run a few deep cleans, clean roller cycles, etc. And make sure you've installed the driver and the right paper is selected when you're printing!
To be honest I haven't really dabbled into the world of removable paper other than the Online Labels removable! It's pretty basic, but I like it when I want to make removable stickers for myself! Have you tried it?
@@ChrissyLillyco Also, If you are making stickers that you could put on water bottles or that could be exposed to water, is the paper waterproof? and if not do you have any recommendations on goof laminates to make them waterproof? BTW I found the video very helpful so thank you!
Before I order this spectacle paper, may I ask if the backing is made of paper or does it have a slick backing? My issue is the paper backing sticking to my cutting mat. 9 times out of 10, I’m ruining more stickers from peeling. I’ve used Online Labels and I absolutely HATE the backing and how easily it rips. It’s not the quality I feel I can charge $4 for.

epson eco tank is better printer, and you spend WAY less money on ink, its not cartridges, AND depending on your model you can get 6000+ full color pages before you have to put in ink. its like $30-45 total for all your colors and black

It’s not! I never made anything waterproof, but sheet labels has a lot of options that might work for you!

Awesome! I tried Epson back when I first started in 2015 and didn’t love the print quality and colours. Maybe they’ve gotten better!
