I was always taught that every being on this Earth was allowed to find their truth without consequence if they so choose. What would be your take on this exploration of your truth?

GoBlack; I believe that you’ve outdone yourself, this time.
Though I’ve, thoroughly, enjoyed every, single, episode of your teachings ( that I have absorbed, to date ) - this, particular, detoxification master-sode ( in my opinion ) is, absolutely, profound.
You are a credit to, both, the Diaspora - and; humanity, at large.
    One caveat:
The, most, crucial thing that I’ve gleaned, from Venerable Monk Sangharakkhita :
Critical self-analysis and understanding is paramount to, all ( underscored ), external underpinnings.
    ‘The gravy, on top :
    Evil =
    Hatred
    Greed
    Delusion
    The Contrary =
    Light
    Truth
    Truth Seekers
So - we should start referring to those that, grossly, oppress others ( especially, us ) as ‘HGDs;’ and our audience as ‘LTTs.’

in agreement with you, i too believe that we could have a situation where some african uses the information developed by milenia of native african beliefs and religious systems to create a unique spritual system associated with native african history. the same way buddhism is directly associated with native indian history and native pagan-indian religious systems. that is something this monk could probably do. but i do admit that it would look very similar to buddhism because of such similar historic & rich pagan experiences between subcontinental india and continental africa. this monk probably thought about all this already and settled with being a buddhist.

in addition, any "creator" is not some friend that's gonna bail you out with a miracle when your decision making is poor. not to mention, there are many americans whose belief in a "creator" did not stop them from ending up in jail or prison.

My point was that only an individual can be comfortable in their own skin...... for their chosen spiritual journey or enlightenment.
You're focusing too much on the semantics of the word "Creator".
Since it seems to be bothering you, focus on the part where I said "final destination" in your spiritual journey.
      Better?
Buddhism, no matter how much you preach to the choir may or may not be the best fit for an individual's spiritual nourishment. Again, It's a personal matter. That's all. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Even if one choses to be an athiest.
Even an athiest can have transformational experiences without necessarily having an organized belief system of anything in particular.
The problem is when we all feel the need to police other people's spiritual decisions or lack thereof.
      Therein lies the problem.

I hope that what the Buddhist monk was saying is clear.
We become the Masters of our reality when we accept this hard truth: Our experiences are all the children of our own consciousness. What we have experienced we gave birth too. If there is something wrong with the womb of our consciousness, and for most of us there is something wrong; we have to do the internal work of healing that.
Haven't you ever noticed that the Whites look like phantoms/ghosts, while Blacks look like shadows? That is because while you are real to yourself, you are a shadow my consciousness is projecting. While I am real to myself, I am a phantom you are projecting. The change has to come from within, which, it seems to me, you already know.
As for victim shaming: Compassion comes in not because the person is a victim of someone else, but because they are the victims of their own uncontrolled consciousness which beats them up in the forms of phantoms and shadows they project without knowing they're doing it. Compassion, real Compassion, is helping people understand how the mind works and get it under control so that they don't hallucinate their own worst enemies.
When you asked the monk if he believes in a God who created the world, he evaded your question because he knows that anyone who talks about God in the third Person needs to get their consciousness under control.
By the way: The Hebrew word for wombs is the same as the Hebrew word for compassion. The way to fix the womb of your consciousness is to intentionally increase your compassion.

17:40 The venerable is talking about attaining enlightenment(Nibbana) here. In other words, cessation of suffering. It is the goal of Buddhism. There are 3 forms of enlightenment: Buddha, Pacceka-Buddha and Arahath. You don't have to become a Buddha to achieve freedom from suffering. Becoming a Buddha entails much more than that. Simply achieving freedom from suffering is called becoming an Arahath.

At least questioning the indoctrination, and breaking the chains of this 'Psychological
