In this video we walk through the steps of setting up you soundbar using an HDMI cable using your TV's ARC connection (audio return channel). With this method, your TV's remote will control the volume of the soundbar, saving the hassle of using 2 remotes!
I worked for 2 days trying to get the hdmi port on my dad's soundbar working while it was mounted on the top of the tv. I didn't realize it had 2 hdmi ports because my vantage point I couldn't see the 2nd port, the ARC port, Thank you for showing this to me. Extremely helpful. Once I have an issue with something my brain won't shut off until it's fixed. Shop once again thank you for letting my brain be able to shut off lol.
Do you have to plug your TV source to the IN HDMI on the sound bar? I didn't see you do that. You just connected the OUT ARC to TV from the sound bar to the TV. Are you connecting your TV source to the IN on your TV?
Man you're awesome
Some other videos they don't talk about the sound wires connection
But your video makes it more easy to understand thank you very much
Keep up the good work 👏
This was really helpful! (Promise that’s not sarcasm) 👈🏼 neither was that! Truly good video. Simple. Quick. Helped me setup my telly after I forgot how to put it all together when I moved furniture around! Keep up the good work, mate. Cheers!
When using hdmi arc you hear sound only from the sound bar. If using optical cable you can use both sound bar & tv speakers at same time.
My Samsung 4K tv and my Yamaha sound bar both have hdmi arc. But when I plug in the hdmi cable and select it on the tv menu it syncs up. But then I get no sound. The sound bar is in hdmi mode. So I’m confused. The tv remote works and volumes it up and down but no sound. I first had it hooked up with the included optical cable and it worked fine. Could it be a hdmi port on the sound bar?? It was a “renewed” Yamaha Sound bar.
Same problem. New soundbar and
tv though
There are 2 USB ports in the sound bar I was told to connect it to the TV for software updates is this correct
Mine disconnects after like 2 minutes and switches to aux by itself. Its driving me crazy... I've had mine connected correctly but cannot find a solution. Anyone know??
Hi
Thanks for the video first of all and your efforts
I have samsung frame edge 55
And q700a samsung sound bar
The first problem is it was dropping sound for what i am playing every single min for seconds

But the sane problem still exists

And other labeled ( to tv and arc or sth like that ) i plugged hdmi not the one comes with sound bar i dont know where is it . I used the cable comes with samsung frame edge but tv cant get the source of hdmi although i choosed it from sound bar
I connect sound bar to wifi by smart things app and i think the problem of dropping has disappeared But until now i dont know how to connect both divices with HDMI
I just bought a Bose sound bar but there’s no HDMI in the back of the sound bar it’s just a USB is there a cable I could buy say USB on one side HDMI on the other so I could get better sound
Mine is a XIAOMI TV and Philip Fidelio B1 soundbar, both with HDMI ARC plugged in, but the TV remote cannot control the soundbar volume. The TV CEC is turned on. Could you advise?
Sir Big thanks 🙏🏾
So soundbar when unwrapped has two wires, one has USB other 3.5 pin type (Audio ) plug. Nothing else on back. Have spare connectors in shed, which have
USB one end the other being HDMI. Could l join HDMI cable to this then connect to TV. ???? Also no HDMI ARC, although 4 HDMI's.
What if you tv HDMI ports are not labelled
My tv not ARC but 2 htmi have is it work?
thanks for the upload, good info.............
But if you have Dish or Direct Tv you will still need two separate remotes. One for channels and one for volume.
im having issues connecting my yamaha ats 1080 sound bar to a samsung tv. i connected to hdmi ARC but still cant get it to work.
Are the Plug ends of the ARC HDMI cable the same as the older HDMI cables to direct connect to older TVs/
Yes, same plugs/cables.
thanks man! i was wondering if i could control the volume of the soundbar with the tv remote!
Yes the video explains that at the end
Perché quando spengo la TV si spegne. Ma quando accendo la TV la soundbar non si accende automaticamente?
VERY HELPFUL VIDEO.
I have Samsung UA32EH4003 32" old tv only with HDMI. Is it possible to connect soundbar and play video via TV??? Please advice
Yes, of course... but if your TV is old you may have to connect it with an AUX cable or optical Toslink; I have video on how to do that here: ruclips.net/video/AMl4l1XM9Ag/видео.html ruclips.net/video/xeAZmH0tCkE/видео.html
Thanks mate your easy to follow explanation was an awesome help
Super good 👍

Why you don't connect your blu ray player to your soundbar?
Because with HDMI Arc, all sources will get sound from soundbar. If you connect to DVD, only DVD will get the soundbar sound, and not any other sources.
Why does the Soundbar also have an HDMI In? What is that used for?
I should have talked about that in the video! Lol. The HDMI input is a pass through port, so you can plug an extra device in, like a game console, and the signal will be passed to your TV through the sounbars connection.
@@futureman11335637 I read more about it. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI ARC, you can plug your main HDMI cable into the Soundbar's HDMI in. Then plug an HDMI cable from the Soundbar's HDMI ARC out to your TV's HDMI in. The sound bar will play the sound signal and pass through the video signal to the TV
@@greggh I did that, mine still not working without hdmi arc
@@greggh Could you confirm this method works? I thought the same thing with my old TV, want o make sure it works before I buy the sound bar. please
What if your tv don't have an arc but just a hdmi??
If your TV is more than 4-5 years old and does not have ARC, you would have to hook up the soundbar with a 3.5mm connector or optical audio Toslink.
@@futureman11335637 hi, do you know of any good soundbar with hdmi arc for a low price that u would recommend?
So if I connect the soundbar and TV via hdmi arc, all sound comming into the TV, for example via other hdmi connections, will at the same time also be connected to the soundbar via the hdmi arc connection that already exists (via hdmi arc) between the soundbar and TV, correct?
Still can't get this to work.
Cheers curly
I did the same thing it's not working 🤔
Werbung ...Wo ist der Medizin Hammer.....?
What is *hdmi in* ??
it's a pass-through, so you don't lose a plug on your TV.
hdmi only no loud sound. But optical cable only very loud sound
That makes no sense whatsoever. Both are digital.
Samsung sound bar A5
no....comment......😡
fuckkk my tv doesnt have arc hdmi input 😏
