Wow, quite a transformation! I did not think it would come out that good. I do hope you seal the deal so that we can see this Eldorado on the road again.
I hope you're able to get that El Dorado and make it roadworthy again. Some of my rich relatives owned Cadillacs and one time when I was 19 I got to drive one of them from Los Angeles to Las Vegas ! It was like floating down the highway.
I had a friend who had one of those in high school, couldn't keep front tires on. Everyone knew where he'd been by the burnouts he did, helluva lot of power in them old tanks.
Great! Great! job! I got to say.... This type of detailing is complete and utterly relaxing therapy... I love to clean and preserve anything for that matter! And when I see how dirty and "lost" something appears to be (The interior with all those nuts!!!) and then it is cleaned and renewed wonderful!!! Keep it coming and would love to know what's in the trunk!!!
It's nice to see one of these extremely underappreciated Eldorado's. I initially thought you were wasting your time with this one but it held up pretty good, it doesn't take much neglect or damage to render one of them a parts car. The front end damage is worse than it looks, that will all need to be replaced to be perfect, it was for looks not protection. Mine got clipped by someone turning into it and catching the corner of the bumper only damaging the piece under the blinker, but it tweeked the entire bumper. I wish you the best of luck, these are great cars, but also very challenging as there is no aftermarket support and never was. The brakes could prove themselves to be your biggest challenge. I look forward to future videos.
That Cadillac was basically a diamond in a manure pile. I hope any future plans for it won't include ruining its original looks with tires or wheels different that what it would've had when it was new.
Yeah, Eldos and Toronados were GM’s front wheel drive offerings. I had a ‘68 Toronado with the 400 horse 455 and it SMOKED the front tires. Introduced by Olds in 1966, it was the first modern era front wheel drive car. Cadillac followed in 1967 with the Eldorado .
Good job! Wow, 8 liter engine and front wheel drive…. You could probably move the earth with the front wheels, I’m excited to see what happens with the rad ‘rado!
Yeah, that massive hunk of iron and transaxle sitting square on the steering wheels had to be great fun to drive, maybe even a bit sporty 🤪 I bet the wheel horsepower was better than a slushbox, driveshaft, and differential weight holding it back. Had to be fun in the deeper snow, too.
She cleaned up good hope you can keep her and if I remember hearing right there wasn't a key for the trunk looking forward to more vlogs with the caddy
Dane, I have a 2002 Chrysler Town Country we bought brand new... The interior is leather and the steering wheel is leather as well... The steering wheel is really heavily layered with years of oil, sweat, and who knows what else! I really want to clean the steering wheel! What do you suggest...? Thanks!
Fellow detailer here.. To keep it simple and easy for you to source the product, you can use Super Clean diluted 10:1 [10 parts water 1 part concentrate] spray onto a microfiber towel and wrap around your steering wheel. It’ll clean it right up.
Overall nice detail. Undercarriage needs to be done. You always should open / remove the cover to the carburator to clean when detailing the engine since rodents love to store food in there.
The Mytic colors, greens, blues, reds gold, silver are Dynamite 🧨,in the Eldorado from 66,67,68,69,70,,but I have to give it to you brother, you got the Alpine white glossy nice 👍🤠🥃🏆🇺🇸
"It drove and rode nice but he wanted a newer one so he just parked that one." GEEZ! It amazes me how much money these farmers had that they could just 'park' a beautiful Cadillac in some barn for decades when they got a new one and not even think about it! Didn't trade it in, didn't sell it. Just 'parked' it. That's how I found my 1976 Fleetwood with only 38K original miles. When the owner got a new one, it was just parked in a pole barn for 30 years. Never started or ran. Same gas and tires from the 1980's, etc. Only mine was in near pristine condition because, of course, the pole barn was all enclosed.
Awesome find, subscribed to see it back on the road and whats inside the trunk! I was just worried of you dealing with all these dirt with no face mask or respirator 😮
We never got to see the engine bay cleaned up. This was a big job I'm sure it took you a while to buff out this barge with that little buffer. Yes all of the Eldorado's were front wheel drive just like their cousins the Toronados and the Riveras. That's why there is no hump in the floor.
Yo tuve uno igual que ese aquí en Puerto Rico, cuando yo tenía 17 años, solo que color verde metálico claro, una joya de auto!, era tracción delantera y motor 500 pulgadas co carburador 4 bocas!
Had to watch this since I have a 1970 Eldorado. Unfortunately, someone gave it an Earl Scheib Gumby Green paint job back in it's past. I have finally gotten it mechanically sound now I want to have it sprayed back to its original Firemist Green.
Man, he doesn't fool around detailing does he? I'm a little surprised he uses a wheel that spins that fast, but it worked. Chemicals I guess. The car is pretty nice. A decent way to present it if he's tryna sell it. Sometimes cleaned up is better. It's a good start for a restoration and all the body panels look str8 and rust-free which is amazing. I don't get that roof-mounted Cadillac wreath. WTF is that?? Weird. Nice interior too. Anybody note the original mileage on the odo??? It can't be much, they made them to wear out fast back then and the interiors look pretty ratty typically over 100K. So I think it's significantly lower than that. Guy Dane does a nice job, like to see more of his work. I'll subscribe and see what else he comes up with 😉
If you restore please remove those added on rear marker lights that some “genius”. Added at some point. They look terrible. Seal up the holes and put a new vinyl top on. I believe the correct grain for this year/model was called Tuxedo grain.
I love those older model cadillacs I like the design but I never was a fan of the front wheel drive ones though..I actually have a model car that I have had for years same model as that one.
Kinda odd seeing a car of that generation that doesn't have the typical "crybaby face" steel rims under the hubcaps. Those rims looks fairily modern for its time period. Nice detail btw i always love seeing those old beasts back to life. :D
Please, do not do burnouts with this car. I know it can be tempting. That must be the 500 CID V8 with the W-34 engine option which makes it go up to 400HP. The owner said it had that horsepower rating, btw. With the 8.2 litres badge I can tell it's a '70 model, also.
@@anthonybianchini5144 Yes, you're right. I got sidetracked by that 400HP rating the owner mentioned. So did the 8.2 litre for '70 got as standard that horsepower number??
It is nice. Its just getty really difficult to find parts for these cars, especially interior ones. Sometimes you have to make your own or steal from another year. Thats not my car, i have a 75
Thanks For Watching! 🙌
I did end up making a deal on the car! Stay Tuned to See if we can get it running! 💪
What a huge improvement! Great job! Good luck with it, I just subscribed and look forward to future updates.
Nice work pal 😊
I can smell that interior, from here.
I wanna say this was the 1st year of the front wheel drive
@@bignip2000 1967 was the first year for FWD Eldorado.
Dude those rodents had a FIELD day with that car, but I can say this was super satisfying to watch 😍
They definitely did 😂 Appreciate You Guys! 🙌
They paid their rent man. :)
Thanks to those rodents who didn't bite off the seats or caused real damage..
Detail Dane and wd detailing should collaborate on a detail series or something.
The outside cleaned up pretty well ! 👍
I think on that interior I would have started with a rake and shovel and then use the vacuum. 😉😜
I'll keep that in mind for the next one 😂
Wow, quite a transformation! I did not think it would come out that good. I do hope you seal the deal so that we can see this Eldorado on the road again.
I got the deal 😎 stay tuned to see it running soon! 💪
nice to see the Puro cameo. Great detail!
Puro for the Win 🏆
Our friends at WD will be excited to see you're using Pure as part of your cleaning routine. Well done Dane!
I didn't even notice it in the video til I read your comment 😂

Wicked find.! Would love to see further videos of this car
Appreciate it! Stay Tuned I did make the deal with the owner
Beautiful Cadillac. Keep it. Let's see it running again and on the road.
I see these barn finds that have been in contact with the ground for decades and I wonder about how bad the frames are. Seems they never show ya.

awesome job !! but now I am tired, just watching do all that work ! lol, great vid, new sub.

Looked great! Interested in seeing these older vehicles up and running.
Appreciate it! Stay Tuned I did end up purchasing this one and will be getting it running soon!
Looking forward to more videos on this Cadillac! Would love to see it running and driving.
Yes I own a 67 Buick Rivera rear wheel drive ,I also owned at one time a 66 Tornado front wheel drive, love them both, but the Riv is my baby
Great barn find for this classic 1970 Cadillac Eldorado ! What a great transformation thus far ! Great work !!!
I hope you're able to get that El Dorado and make it roadworthy again.

The 1970 Eldorado was a favorite of mine. It still looks great 50 years later.

The upright hood ornament isn't standard issue, it has to be an add-on. The front emblem is factory issue. I had a '68 and there was only one emblem.
Squirrels had a home for a few years, lol. the engine alone is worth keeping it!.
The tires were only flat on the bottom

Hello, is the Eldorado for sale? Fellow Toronado fan here. After seeing one like this in 'The Irishman', it makes me want to get one now.
Good flat on the bottom joke... I learned that one from Burt Reynolds.

W-34 is an 455 engine code for the Oldsmobile Toronado. This Cadillac 500CID/400HP is the standard engine in every 1970 Eldorado.
