I moved in to a house infested with every bug you can think of- Ants, spiders, American cockroaches, centipedes, Beatles etc. I paid a company to get rid of them, but it only lasted a few months and costed hundreds. I have been using talstar P just as you showed in the video and I’m bug free! My wife is the happiest wife in the world 😂
This stuff is awesome. I have a treeline on the other side of my fence and because of the rains we have been getting mosquitos have been horrible this year. I sprayed our entire backyard to include the common hangout areas for them and the next day I was able to enjoy my deck without getting bit once. Great product.
I sprayed Talstar P last week and today I saw a camel cricket (cave cricket (spider- cricket)) folded like laundry on my side porch. I used the Ortho/Spectracide big box home defense in the past, but I have never seen a dead camel cricket like I saw today. Talstar P is the real deal
I've had an infestation of clover mites in my "she shed" in the backyard. It's not by the thousands, but they're on the floor, and I keep finding one or two crawling on this wall....that wall.... I've used Talstar Pro along the baseboards, I'm vacuuming every day in my shed, and I tried to spray the exterior. Next I need to caulk along the baseboards of my shed. But I just don't know how long it's going to take to get rid of them. I can't quite get comfortable in here because every time I look, there's one or two crawling across my desk, or on my walls. It's so annoying! I am going to add some garden beds around the rest of my shed so that I can create a barrier around the rest of my shed.
An infestation of clover mites can be unfortunate and depending on the level of activity, may take a some time to begin seeing results and/or eliminating them. We do have a Clover Mite Control article www.domyown.com/clover-mite-control-a-226.html you may like to review for further tips and information. You can use Talstar P www.domyown.com/talstar-professional-insecticide-p-97.html to treat indoors and outdoors. This is our most economical option, and it provides great results. However, if you are concerned about resistance issues, you can use Temprid FX Insecticide www.domyown.com/temprid-fx-insecticide-p-17130.html, which is a little more expensive, but it includes two active ingredients and can be quite effective as well.
This product really works. If the 1st application did not work, go up to 1 Oz/Gal instead of .33 oz/gal, give the 1st application at least a week before applying the second if necessary.
Talstar P Professional Insecticide offers a 30-day residual when applied outdoors and a 90-day residual indoors. The product can be applied once every 7 days. This type of application is only typically recommended when dealing with a severe active infestation of a pest. Retreating more frequently allows you to eliminate the active infestation quicker. If you are not dealing with this type of issue, reapplying every 30 days outside and every 90 days inside should be effective. I hope my answer provides some clarity for you.
Talstar P will kill crickets. Apply Talstar P as a crack and crevice or spot spray to areas where pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Do not use as a space spray. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices. We recommend treating the outside perimeter to help stop insect pests from coming indoors to start with. Apply Talstar P to a band of soil and vegetation 6 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the structure. Also, treat the foundation of the structure to a height of 2 to 3 feet.
I would prefer to just use a measuring spoon set I keep for outside chemicals. Hoe many teaspoons or tablespoons do I use per gallon of water for general pest control on the outside of my home? Thanks. John.
If an over application of the product was made we cannot say exactly how safe or toxic it would be as that would also be determined a little by how and where it was applied. If it was sprayed outdoors, you could come back and water in some of the area to help wash some of the concentration from the surface, or if indoors you can clean any baseboards it may have been applied to. For further info on any risks it may pose, you can contact the manufacturer FMC directly at 800-321-1362.
I bought this before moving into my apartment after reading reviews such as “no matter how clean you are there will be roaches because the building is so old & trees”, sprayed this (accidentally dumped 2x the amount because the measured spout is widely connected to the entire bottle) and I noticed two dead flies in the window a few hours later. I moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta so I’m not hip to all the critters here! I feel safe now lol.
Talstar has a long residual, so it keeps on killing pests for over three months after you've sprayed it. Make sure to follow the instructions on the product label for it, though. www.domyown.com/msds/Talstar_P_Professional_Insecticide_Label_2020.pdf
Very interesting. Is this the same stuff or similar to what Terminix sprays around the house? I can't keep paying $400 a year for Terminix. (Way over priced). They came and helped out when I had a rat that kept digging under my foundation to live in my mostly crawl space cellar. My own rat pellets are what I think killed the rat and I got its body out of there. Does this stuff help repel rats as well as insects?
Talstar P (and most other products we offer) are professional grade products. While we can’t tell you exactly what a specific professional may have used at your home without more information, we can tell you that have great products, and you absolutely can do that treatment yourself. Talstar is just an insecticide and is not for rodent control, but we do have lots of great Rodent Control Products here: www.domyown.com/rodents-c-21.html
I have been using Orkin for several years, at least until I discovered I could buy the same product they use. This is what they use around my house, but charge me significantly more to apply it. Glad I looked at the invoice to see what chemical they use and then Googled it. I recently ordered the product through DoMyOwn and will apply it at another property I own.
This may be a stupid question but after this dries, does this kill bees? Also i read that this is very toxic to fish. Does this solution run off when it rains?
Talstar P is still toxic to bees after it dries. Talstar is not a selective insecticide and any insect that lands on treated surfaces will be impacted. Talstar, like all pyrethroids, is indeed toxic to fish. Applications should be kept at least 20 feet away from bodies of water to avoid run off getting into the water.
It is not usually required to use a surfactant with Talstar P but adding one will increase the effectiveness and help it stick to waxy leaves better. The Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker would be a great choice. www.domyown.com/hiyield-spreader-sticker-p-1898.html

I sprayed the light and surrounding part of the house by the light... this was the 1st time since I sprayed that I went outside with patio light on..... will the flies that kept hitting the light eventually die off from the residual of the bifen it (7.9%) or is bifen just not effective for flies that are attracted to the light?
Talstar will only kill flies that come in direct contact with the product. You should locate and eliminate the breeding source of the flies, since control will be very difficult relying on sprays. An easy and effective tool is the Flies Be Gone Fly Trap www.domyown.com/flies-be-gone-fly-trap-p-466.html , which catches thousands of flies from up to 100 yards away. So do you use the crack and crevice setting and straw for all indoor use? Currently I just have a $10 Chapin sprayer, and a lot more water comes out than I need for indoors. They don't have an extendable straw that I know of, so I'm looking into the B&G sprayer now. The straw seems like it's better suited to treating cabinets and baseboards and not getting it all wet. Am i right in thinking that the straw seems almost necessary? I'm still new to this and would appreciate the input. Thanks!
Thank you for your question! It is not required to use a crack and crevice straw for indoor pesticide applications. You can typically adjust your sprayer tip to create a fine pin stream rather than a wide cone stream so that less product is coming out at a time. You can choose to use the B&G 1 Gallon sprayer using the CC tip and crack and crevice straw for more detailed applications. You could also use an aerosol ready-to-use product which comes with a crack and crevice straw instead of using a concentrate indoors. If you would like more detailed assistance regarding the specific pest(s) you are targeting, please feel free to call us at 866-581-7378 M-F 9a-5p EST.

We also have more tips in our article How to Get Rid of Millipedes here: www.domyown.com/get-rid-of-millipedes-a-255.html

Talstar P is a non-selective insecticide that will kill carpenter ants that are sprayed directly or which contact surfaces treated with Talstar P. However, Talstar kills the ants too quickly to get the transfer effect which allows for total colony kill that we can get from other products. Please take a few moments to review our Carpenter Ant Treatment Guide for tips and product recommendations on how best to handle these ants if they are in or around your home.
It is recommended, however, when applying indoors, no wind plus small spray with long straw equals no need for protection as long as it is controlled in small spray amount no more than hip high. I'd strongly recommend eye and inhalation protection outdoors.
