Bought a shirt just because I love the channel and you really do deserve the support because of the dozens of hours of entertainment you’ve brought the community over the years. Too pricy for me tho.
Other changes: - No chip damage on block. - Itachi got merged into 1 character slot from 2 (alive and reanimated), Madara got split into 2 slots (one with the fan and one without). Same for Minato, looks like edo and alive will be 2 character slots. I'm so happy about this change. It shows that somebody at CC2 cares and doesn't want to copy paste dumb things. Edit: So basically "different moveset -> different slot in character select" which should have been the way they do it in Storm 4 in the first place.
@@bbuck23 that's cause Minato and Minato reanimated has different moveset's, but moveset's of Itachi and Itachi reanimated is the same (sorry for bad english)
@@BuffShotgunsMW3 I doubt it. I think the Naruto from beginning of Shippuden will be split into 2 characters since it has 2 movesets. All other Natutos have unique movesets (unlike Itachi)
No there’s a full story mode animated 60fps bro I don’t play ranked or competitive I just play for the story and fun times with my friends this is a complete game for me because I enjoy the story 🙏🏾 just like dbz kakarot
I love all the changes but I really think they should've kept the tilt attacks and moving while throwing shurikens. These are the two things I'll miss the most for sure.
I mean then just buff parrys and high risk high reward there ya go, bc parrys right now are a joke you parry and they insta sub out of anything you do even a grab, should make them unable to sub for a time after you hit a parry, that way you actually get value from parrys, bc theres almost 0 reason to do them unless they are out of subs and supports @@omar.alnounou
Maybe for offline story mode. But for online mode it's crappy. Button mashing is just annoying and tedious. I always turn button mashing off if a game lets me like in Spiderman or Star Wars. It was removed in the first place for competetive play since Storm 2
Ye it's a dumb way of making bad players look good. But it's a very nice accessibility feature for people who don't have the fingers, hands or arms and love Naruto. And this doesn't help unskilled players with the entire game sense. I'm okay with it for now
Technically you can integrade other inputs into said single button press but i can see this being something to maybe close the gap between noobs and pros. The real question is will it save the newbies lol

Its should be required of the PLAYER to learn, master, and understand the mechanics and the uniqueness of their characters. The one thing I'll always miss is being able to play as awakened kimmimaru and pts Sasuke from storm 1 with a different complete moveset. Now they reduced the awakening time. Why even have awakening anymore.
@kollie79 you just reminded me they took away instant awakenings. Those were so dope in 3 and Rev being able to awaken whenever with chakra slowly depleting to time you out. This would have been a perfect way to allow players to access Baryon mode for a lot longer since they didn’t want to make him a fully playable mode but now…..nah 12 seconds is all you get. That’s fun right……
@kollie79 oh yeah most definitely. These “changes” are literally stripping the game down to its barest form. Like the game is already simple enough they can definitely map different actions to different buttons or button combinations. But to take already mapped actions out for something subpar. I don’t know my guy call me a hater but this is on par with storm 3 after they removed the 4th combo string
In my personal opinion as an extremely long term storm player. I have heard, for damn near a decade, from all the try hards, about how bad it is to awaken during a match. Most don't fight with awakening. They are just simply responding to the community
@@ThatFunnyPlace then with that information they should nerf awakenings by scaling back the damage not reducing the time. I’ve been playing the Ultimate Ninja series since I was a child. Hell I bought my xbox360 just to play storm 2 as a teenager. I have fun with the game on and offline. I think it’s ass how they dial back features for the online community. If that’s going to be the case to keep the game balanced then they should implement a party mode style mechanic offline and for non ranked matches where you can tweak the game to your liking. Things like longer awakenings and unlimited team gauge etc. They shouldn’t just take out features to appeal to the competitive scene.
I need the seven Swordsmen of the Mist and the gold and silver Brothers since we already have the character models in strom and some movie filler DLC characters would be awesome
I will miss the chakra shurikens so badly... Especially for some characters like Sai, Gaara, Utakata, Shino, Temari, Ino, Kankuro, Konan, Jirobo, Tayuya, Kidomaru, six path Naruto, Deidara, or even the ones like Naruto or Shikamaru.

I like all those changes from a competitive point, really cool the only thing that scares me are the counters, for how broken they seem to be I expected the recover frames of a failed counter to be higher or something like that but it doesn't seem to be the case :(
I hate they even brought it to the game messed it up fr people be scared to fight as it is on this game and they dnt wanna take it out the counter is not needed if u cnt apply pressure and dnt kno how to defend frm it then Thts ya problem
We probably will never see one due to how hard fighting games are to design. Clash came out at a time where there was this constant stream of trying out new ideas with the Naruto IP. So many ideas have come and gone, like what One Piece is going through.
@harlinambury5131 he means the combo alienation in storm 1 and 2 every character had 4 combos neutral up down and side combos in storm 3 and onward they got rid of the neutral combos so to compensate they made every characters side combo their neutral

Like a lot of the changes. Don’t like the higher regenerating chakra and the loss of the tilt. Do like the second jutsu, just wish tilts were also there as well
@@Halucygeno I actually like that tilt. Yes it’s very situational, but if you manage to get it off you can really do a number on both your opponent and their assists. Although I am happy to see Jiraiya using fireball jutsu. But as I said, I would’ve love to have the second jutsu and tilts. Gives more diversity to characters and grants different combinations to combos
Before watching, I just want the Character Assists to come back from Revolutions. I liked the difference of the Offense/Awakening/Support types and how you could use anyone, not "I need this character for this Support ability". I want to pick my favorites, not because I want them to fill in a role.
Support only characters shouldve never been a thing tbh. I hope they make those characters into full fledged ones and add in the characters they missed

They are saying something like 164 characters to begin with from what i read. Idk if some will be dlc or not but i am sure they will add more when the manga, and the anime return for dragon ball
I think that one mechanic on its own is why Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 still has its own competitive community. I'm not so inside-baseball that I know everything that made 3 distinct, but Instant Awakening was meta-defining. This was probably the last chance for us to see Instants again in this series, but at least we finally got double Jutsus. That's a genuine mechanical innovation, and it's arguably something that should have been in UNS4.
I really hope we get the Shurikens back the Charged versions at least for characters that don't have an Air OK to their Second Jutsu or Jutsu variation at all or like maybe they could use some of the unique Shurikens for awakening modes although that does take away the Fūma Shuriken from most if not all Naruto's.

I never saw the need for side combos. It was just an additional thing. It's just an extra neutral combo. We already have up-ino-air, down-into-knockdown and neutral-into-launch, and including side would be neutral 2.0. There was no utility for it.

i actually hope the cpu difficulty is buffed because storms story is unbelievably easy and it would add realness to the game if the computer was more aggressive and make it feel like a real ninja fight, imagine naruto vs sasuke that would b insane
@@yudasrain4774 well how about the ability to select the difficulty of the story mode. So you can have an easier way of getting the achievements but then higher difficulty offers cosmetic rewards and such
its a very hard line to balance fighting game CPUs. If you make them too good it will feel unfair to most players like the Computer is just reading your inputs and reacting instantly. Think MK 2s (original) notoriously busted CPUs.
If they add Young Minato and Kushina from the new one shot...I MAY just consider getting this😂 Having a Teen Minato who isn't as broken and MAINLY a Kushina that is NOT a JOKE character. Her chains can be used in regular combat and possibly even her own RASENGAN since it was apparently made for HER would be BEAUTIFUL😭🔥🔥. I mean the one shot story gave her enough for a full character in game. Even a new tailed beast Cloak Awakening and Kurama's Tailed Beast Bomb as an Ultimate which he used on Minato🤷♂️

This makes me remember how toxic the counter in revolution was, in that game most of the gameplay was trying shurikan dash and to grab each other as many times as possible it was horrible and very unhealthy for the game. I haven't played storm four cause i didnt like the health keeping function really much but ill definitely give this games online a shot I used to nolife storm during high school back in the day. Come on, fourty five of this "changes" can be made through updates of Storm 4 and the rest aren't even changes: "More characters, more arenas, swap colors", yeah thanks but it’s less than the minimum for a new game.
@@dantesqueman last I checked that's what storm 3 -> 4 did, what smash 4 -> smash ult did, and those games aren't considered a DLC. connections adds new animations for infinites so that everyone has them and in multiple strings, I could go on about the mechanical changes but nobody ever reads them all
I don't know, reducing the life, Awakening and storm gauge turns me a little off. I think the perfect storm game would be if they merge Storm 1 And Storm 4 together and add new characters...
I get the complaints people have, I bought Storm 4 back in the day, but I haven't played a Storm game since that came out. I'm fine with buying this if there is enough new stuff, which it looks to be the case. Some of these changes were things I wished was in Storm 4. I just hope that the Naruto-Naruto Shippuden story isn't strictly texted/slide-show based with pre-condition set battles like the past games that told the story. It'd be a mega letdown if we went from the Shukaku Boss fight to a normal battle with an awakened Gaara, or just Gaara and a slideshow of what happened after.
The fact that a mod was capable of achieving everything connections has to offer even to a certain extent, proves the point that it is pretty much a DLC even further.

You could use it as a back up substitution. It would be cool if you could aim it though Im not sure where else you could aim it besides supports or maybe even jutsus themselves since he could do that in universe.
Can you select the two ninjutsus for your second and third character the same way that you can for your first? That being said, the only change that really gets under my skin is the reduced awakening time. I wish they increased it to be quite frank
Both jutsu are useable for support :) (I’ve seen on another video) and tbh awakenings should be reworked so we can use them whenever without it being OP
Nah maybe bc it's the demo or maybe bc characters have 2 jutsus now but they took out selectable ninjutsu for everyone it seems so Kakashi don't got the dogs anymore and Madara doesn't have his fan tilt 😔
If they especially got rid of the debuff from armor break, that makes the already stupid decision to make it universal across the team more stupid. If its purely visual based, that should incentivize and reasonably justify WHY armor break should be individual-based. Even the actual and purely team-based DBFZ doesn't work like that (iirc).
I dislike that they further stripped down the movesets by removing chakra shuriken and a lot of tilt animations in favor of stuff like generic fire projectiles Also, awakenings seem way too short now, it's ridiculous
i really love naruto to boruto: shinobi strikers but they removed the ranked custom character pvp about a year ago and it's never been fun since, here i am looking for a new fix
Can they give special characters like Kaguya and Tayuya who dont have ninja tools a second panel they can switch from? Now that ninja tools are unlimited, I can guarentee those 2 are going to be at a massive disadvantage unless their special mechanics are buffed.
@@InkPrince thats a nice change and Tayuya summonings need to have stronger tracking and just better presence on the stage overall since this game is so damn fast and oppressive it feels like puppet and ranged characters are going to get their asses handed to them.

@@cjasonmatthews1996 I feel like that would be too much clutter on the screen, especially when you still have to consider assists. I recently thought of the probably the best thing for her, she doesnt have the ninja tools like usual but her second jutsu comes from the Doki she summons. Each Doki has a different jutsu that has some pretty unique effects. For example the Club Doki has a jutsu that breaks guards immediately to make up for no guard break pill or Claw Doki having a combo jutsu like Hidan for pressure and Armless Doki does a vortex that pulls enemies. Tell me that doesnt sound like an interesting idea.

Looks to me like they’re making the game a lil more compatible and competitive adding more combo options or ways to stop somebody from a continuous full bar combo with the counter not taking chakra giving you more opportunity to get into a guard break counter clash. Tilting being gone is a lil sad I ain’t gone lie
The changes are cool I guess, but for me the story mode and new characters are more important, cause I play more casually. It should have 20 new characters..I dont think thats hard to do. Make the support characters like Kurenai, Anko etc full characters…like how has Kurenai never been playable in storm?? But also the new boruto kage like Kurotsuchi who were support characters should be full characters this time. Borutos classmates as well…and you easily have 20+ new characters. Thats at least what Im hoping for…oh and better ultimates for some characters like Tsunade…come on.
7 swordsmen, Kage bodyguards, fuckin ZETSU, Kurenai, Anko, Shizune, Golden and Silver brothers, InoShikaCho (the fathers), Gari and Pakura, Sakumo, Omoi. So many dope characters from Shippuden are way more interesting than the lame new gen kids, but unfortunately 99% they won’t be added since no one even talk about them.
I was super hyped when they mentioned 2 jutsu for all characters but it's a big letdown that it cost the tilt attack. When I played storm 2 boss fight vs Itachi his tilt had me wondering if it was something only a boss could do. It was something that took skill in a high pressure fight that had an attack/ evade combo assist, dealing damage if hitting, helping if out of substitutions like the sage Kabuto boss fight. If you are taking too much damage it activates quick, deals damage if not evaded, at the end you basically get a teleport behind them, and it cost no chakra that's merely offensive benefits. You basically move across the whole map, an invincibility moment, and buy time to build up substitutions/chakra and in pvp where temari or tenten require little skill and can long distance spamming the tilt is a skill based attack that doesn't cost things you should conserve like chakra and subs, meanwhile it can flip the tables like grabbing a guard master or closing in on a distance fighter that's just itachi though. I was hoping it took away the air of predictability like Kakashi and his lightning blade which is a headlong charge you can side step vs any of his other to throw the opponent off balance or itachi exploding shadow clone good defense but worthless against Temari, Tenten, and especially puppet users so slow and no range keep distance. But Amaterasu the ninjutsu not ultimate jutsu it goes across the board disables puppets and tracks the puppeteer who seldom are proficient with guarding. Now a chakra dash runs straight into a bomb range user's tracking flames. But now I can't turn into crows and swarm you while sweeping across the board with no chakra loss and appearing behind you I hope it's salvaged somehow.
To be honest, i think this video just further proves how little Connections actually adds, in the end those are all minor things and/or technicalities, more than a DLC it looks to me like years worth of patches and updates shoved all at once and together to make a new game, maybe it's just me but i still don't feel this as "enough"

Im happy that they are working hard to add for the community but after playing this series for what like 15 years im just ready for a new game with new combat systems and a creative take on the jutsu system shoutout to the community tho (not the toxic ones)
I thought I was gonna miss Kakashi's Kamui, but it's such a good support now, since Kakashi can be at a safe distance so he can't get hit out of it easily, and it can get you out of an opponent's combo without using a sub. Can't remember if it nullifies jutsu still, but if it does, I think it's a buff, and not a nerf. (Rip to Itachi's Crow Dash tho 😭)

@__senjutsu I've been the punching bag in my ninja storm 4 group cuz I never played it growing up (didn't have the money for games for my 360 lol), so Storm 4 was always frustrating cuz I felt like it was impossible to get a hang of the mechanics on a competitive level. This game feels SOOO much better in terms of balancing. I'm actually winning matches back to back on my random ass D.S Kakashi/Rock Lee/Itachi team, which would get folded in a heartbeat on 4. Don't feel like I'm gonna get insta-punished with a Rasengan to the face if I'm aggressive anymore 😂
Thats really gonna hurt characters like the bubble guy since he could shift around the stage while shooting bubbles. I guess its incentive to stay on the ground a little more often.
If you need to count tweaks like a faster Chakra regeneration rate, a new HUD and stopped time during Ultimates as a change just to count 50 changes, it just proves that this is a DLC. Considering this is a fighting game with 10 new characters, calling it a DLC season would be more fair. Most of these changes would be (usually free) update content in other games. Technically these changes need to be compared to Demon Slayer, too. Demon Slayer uses the same engine and probably a lot of code from the Naruto games. Just to put it in perspective: OpenMW, a Open Source Game, lists 58 changes (excluding bug fixes) for their current release version. One of them being a major change, namely mod script support. This version is being made in the free time of 19 people, consisting of 3.500 (minor) changes in total in about a year. Obviously it's hardly comparable but since you measure the effort by counting changes, we have a comparable amount of effort by people with not even closely as much resources for 70$ less

The stuff I dislike or hate: -For me the new combo damage reduction scale have no sense. i played DNF Duel which have that system and if you go to training for free combos, you realize that making short combo with just specials does more damage than starting combo with normal attacks leading to the same special attacks makes actually a total of LESS damage. Which removes sense of making longer combos, the fun of trying to do longer combos etc. If they need to have that damage reduction for balance, then they should make it scale with each attacks type as separated damage scale. So normal combos, throw/grab, jutsus and ultimate jutsus have seaparated damage reduction. So for example if you do long combo with normal attacks of 30 hits, your normal attacks have reduced damage by around 50%, but then you are hitting your oponent for the first time with jutsu in that combo, so the jusu does 100% of the damage, if you continue that combo and do a second jutsu hit then the jutsu damage will be reduced, and then you do a throw/grab the first time so your throw/grab does 100% of the damage. That way you can do longer combos and you are kind of forced to MIX the combos with different attack types to make the most damage with the combo. Otherwise it can end up be worth to do a one hit leading to ultimate jutsu making more total damage because ultimate jutsu don't get damage reduced, than making 40 hit combo ending with ultimate jutsu, because ultimate jutsu does the most damage, but you are reducing it's damage with each combo hit so the longer combo you do the less rewarding damage you get from jutsus or ultimate jutsus, ending up doing more effort and spending more time for less total damage, meaning that shorter combos does more damage, and that doesn't have any sense in any game. -Team gauge only working for 12 seconds... really? That's also stupid in my opinion, if it takes longer time to charge it then why making it even worse more. Now it's like a really short upgrade that slightly impact gameplay. It should stay for a lot longer. -Awakenings only 15 seconds duration, so how I can learn how to play with awakenings if they are really short? Now it's just like a strategy to only awakening only if you have substitutions and your opponent is out of substitution, otherwise you are just wasting your awakening. I would prefer to get nerfed versions of awakenings, but lasting even 1 minute or the whole round. 15 seconds is laughable.... you can't have fun using awakening, it's like time rush giving you pressure on time. In Storm 1 awakening were lasting 1 minutes long and they felt amaizing, all what they were doing is increasing combo damage and changing jutsus + slight guard break bonus. I didn't liked Storm 2 only 30 seconds awakenings and now it's only 15 seconds, that just feels bad. -I'm not sure about new Substitution not regenerating gauge while being damaged, it could lead to infinite combos that is just broken in fighting games. The damage scaling might fix it, but as I wrote before I hate scaling damage in fighting games especially when special attacks and ultimate attacks are also reduced in damage, because most of the time you can end up making less damage than you would if you just pulled out easy short combos ending with specials or ultimate attack. So your time and effort just goes to trash, it's not worth doing long combos anymore, which makes the fighting game not feel good. -Big awakenings are still bad.... I still see the same mistakes not fixing big awakenings. If one of players are in big awakening mode like susanoo, all substitutions should teleport players by a decent range, to not lead to insta combos... that is just broken and removes any sense of strategy, it's just brute force of dashing and combos, who have more substitutions he will lead in the fight... and that's just stupid. -I still saw some bugs, like Naruto doing rasengan as support, Sasuke used substitution but got teleported in the same place but in the air, and he instantly got hit by explosion of rasengan.... if they can't fix it, then please at least allow us to instantly block after teleporting to avoid bugs like that, where you substitute form attack, you hold block button but there are frames where you cannot block and you get hit by the same attack you tried to avoid by using substitution. And it's now even WORSE! Because after you get hit by an jutsu the opponent can chakra dash to you and continue his combo. Making that one BUG with substitution lead to los of a lot of health bar. That will be annoying and broken as hell if not fixed. -There is a bug with new character, the one that makes amaterasu, I saw that guy used his support, the opponent instatly hit the opponent with support but half second later the amaterasu just hit the guy, so the new character to make that amaterasu doesn't need to play the whole casting jutsu animation to release the amaterasu, he just need maybe even just 1 frame to release amaterasu flames, which makes this character BROKEN. None of characters should be ably to do it. -1:29 I really don't like the idea of giving auto play mechanics... simplicity with different key combinations for easier movement is kind of fine if it will don't lead to new meta making it a lot better than old classic controls -I'm not a fan of new counter mechanic, I don't play fighting games that have counter attacks that cannot be cancelled with good reflex or that do damage on you, or lead to combos which also means damage. Because counter attacks aren't predictable at all, it's a fighting game so it's about attacking your opponent, and your opponent can pull out counter attack at any time. In storm 4 it was really fine to just push back opponent without dealing any damage and giving your time to recover or run. But leading to combos is just bad, gladly there are substitutions in this game, so it might not be as bad as I think in this game. So what I like with new changes: -Chakra regeneration, making you not waste your time on chakra charging and giving you more action, just making faster gameplay. -Remove of chakra shurikens and nerf with throwing shurikens in air, that was spammable annoying. -second jutsu, I hope that if second jutsu is the same as tilt attack and cost chakra, so it should do more damage than just a tilt attack. -Jutsu in air, I hope all characters now can do jutsu in air. -Full health regen per round. For me it didn't had any sense earlier so keep the health as it was, now it's like all other fighting games, giving you chance to come back. -Items cooldown, not reducing the amount for the whole fight. -Stun duration reduced -Blocking is easier to break.
yeah, is pretty fair calling a dlc. You list minor changes that could be put on a patch. Few new character, stages, and adjustment to break, jutsu and tool. If you compare the roaster of storm 3/revolution, they are big. Also the diference by been able to play 3 character. Storm connection is literaly a premium edition dlc on 4k.
For me Naruto Storm Connections it doesn’t feels like a new Storm game at all, they changed only a few buttons commands and nothing more, the fact that they removed Tilts and they put the tilts moves on the second jutsus it's pretty lame, disappointing and lackluster, not to mention that they removed the jutsus selection completely from the beginning of the fight. 🤦🏻♂️ This game feels more like an update DLC than like an actual New Storm Game. But honestly, for me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. The First Storm game has the most Unique gameplay features perspective and the particular presentation of the game was so ahead of it's time in my opinion, the only downside of the first Storm game was the very lacking Story Mode Interactions, and from Storm 3 the developers cut and shortned the movesets of characters, that's why I don't agree with their choices. (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. (these have my favourite vibe and charm of the anime itself because of the dynamic gameplay features) 2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2( for the unique Story and some Unique Boss Battles and let's not forget that Iconic "Calm Before the Storm" OST from the Characters Selection Screen and many more diverse soundtracks) 3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Because of the more well-rounded diverse Story Perspective and very epic Boss Battles and also the soundtrack "Outside Konoha" and others soundtracks as well) 4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (mostly because of the unique option to change/switch between your characters team during the fight, this particular option mechanics should've been already in the game from the very first Storm game in my opinion) 5. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (because of the abused and annoying Counter mechanic) 🤷🏻♂️
Reducing Awakening timers is a trash decision. Part of the appeal for Naruto fans just like Dragonball fans is the power ups. If I'm in a power up for one single fucking combo it's not much of a power up.
I really hope that characters with a minuscule jutsu change get lumped into 1 with a jutsu select. So all the Naruto’s with a different rasengan or rasenshuriken are 1 guy
Bro they are adding more characters and taking away all the actual gameplay no more tilts no more chakra kunai and I guarantee it’s still missing the left and right direction combos for everyone. Been missing since storm 2 it was the go to for guard breaks and looked super cool and was the longest combos in the series instead of a brain dead one button

When it first was announced, you couldn't blame anyone for feeling that way with the trailer. But at this point with all these gameplay vids, I don't know how you could still call it Storm 4 DLC. Underwhelming changes maybe, but it's not Storm 4.
Jesus it's gonna be so spammy, they literally take away skill elements away like juggling, air combo resets, Chakra management, art of switching and remove game mechanics like air Kunai defense and tilts. That basically means they are dumbing the game down, leaving good players with less options to defend themselves against brainless people who mash and dash you with op characters. Which essentially means low tier characters will be trash and I don't see myself picking them ever since I'll just get mashed to death.
Switching isn't an art. While the "best players" in the community may embrace it as a mechanic; it is single-handedly the most broken aspect of storm 4 aside from awakenings. Leader switch alone counteracts the skillful elements of storm that the best players learned from storm generations onward. Storm is good a BS fest of who can best abuse the most broken editions to the game.
I really hope they do something good for the puppet masters. They’re in the game for a reason and I wish they could attack just a bit faster. I hate fighting against players who rely too much on character switching with OP characters.

Other changes:
- No chip damage on block.
- Itachi got merged into 1 character slot from 2 (alive and reanimated), Madara got split into 2 slots (one with the fan and one without). Same for Minato, looks like edo and alive will be 2 character slots. I'm so happy about this change. It shows that somebody at CC2 cares and doesn't want to copy paste dumb things.
Edit: So basically "different moveset -> different slot in character select" which should have been the way they do it in Storm 4 in the first place.

Maybe for offline story mode. But for online mode it's crappy. Button mashing is just annoying and tedious. I always turn button mashing off if a game lets me like in Spiderman or Star Wars. It was removed in the first place for competetive play since Storm 2

@kollie79 you just reminded me they took away instant awakenings. Those were so dope in 3 and Rev being able to awaken whenever with chakra slowly depleting to time you out. This would have been a perfect way to allow players to access Baryon mode for a lot longer since they didn’t want to make him a fully playable mode but now…..nah 12 seconds is all you get. That’s fun right……

Like the game is already simple enough they can definitely map different actions to different buttons or button combinations. But to take already mapped actions out for something subpar. In my personal opinion as an extremely long term storm player. I have heard, for damn near a decade, from all the try hards, about how bad it is to awaken during a match. Most don't fight with awakening. They are just simply responding to the community

Hell I bought my xbox360 just to play storm 2 as a teenager. I have fun with the game on and offline. I think it’s ass how they dial back features for the online community. If that’s going to be the case to keep the game balanced then they should implement a party mode style mechanic offline and for non ranked matches where you can tweak the game to your liking. Things like longer awakenings and unlimited team gauge etc. They shouldn’t just take out features to appeal to the competitive scene.

Before watching, I just want the Character Assists to come back from Revolutions. I liked the difference of the Offense/Awakening/Support types and how you could use anyone, not "I need this character for this Support ability". I want to pick my favorites, not because I want them to fill in a role.

I think that one mechanic on its own is why Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 still has its own competitive community. I'm not so inside-baseball that I know everything that made 3 distinct, but Instant Awakening was meta-defining.
This was probably the last chance for us to see Instants again in this series, but at least we finally got double Jutsus. That's a genuine mechanical innovation, and it's arguably something that should have been in UNS4.

I really hope we get the Shurikens back the Charged versions at least for characters that don't have an Air OK to their Second Jutsu or Jutsu variation at all or like maybe they could use some of the unique Shurikens for awakening modes although that does take away the Fūma Shuriken from most if not all Naruto's.

I never saw the need for side combos. It was just an additional thing. It's just an extra neutral combo. We already have up-ino-air, down-into-knockdown and neutral-into-launch, and including side would be neutral 2.0. There was no utility for it.

its a very hard line to balance fighting game CPUs. If you make them too good it will feel unfair to most players like the Computer is just reading your inputs and reacting instantly. Think MK 2s (original) notoriously busted CPUs.

This makes me remember how toxic the counter in revolution was, in that game most of the gameplay was trying shurikan dash and to grab each other as many times as possible it was horrible and very unhealthy for the game. I get the complaints people have, I bought Storm 4 back in the day, but I haven't played a Storm game since that came out. I'm fine with buying this if there is enough new stuff, which it looks to be the case. Some of these changes were things I wished was in Storm 4. I just hope that the Naruto-Naruto Shippuden story isn't strictly texted/slide-show based with pre-condition set battles like the past games that told the story. It'd be a mega letdown if we went from the Shukaku Boss fight to a normal battle with an awakened Gaara, or just Gaara and a slideshow of what happened after.

Nah maybe bc it's the demo or maybe bc characters have 2 jutsus now but they took out selectable ninjutsu for everyone it seems so Kakashi don't got the dogs anymore and Madara doesn't have his fan tilt 😔

If they especially got rid of the debuff from armor break, that makes the already stupid decision to make it universal across the team more stupid. If its purely visual based, that should incentivize and reasonably justify WHY armor break should be individual-based. Even the actual and purely team-based DBFZ doesn't work like that (iirc).
They should add a mode where you can play as awakenings without time restraints

i really love naruto to boruto: shinobi strikers but they removed the ranked custom character pvp about a year ago and it's never been fun since, here i am looking for a new fix
Can they give special characters like Kaguya and Tayuya who dont have ninja tools a second panel they can switch from? Now that ninja tools are unlimited, I can guarentee those 2 are going to be at a massive disadvantage unless their special mechanics are buffed.
They might buff it to where the swapping is faster and seamless so you can combo through different realms with Kaguya
@@InkPrince thats a nice change and Tayuya summonings need to have stronger tracking and just better presence on the stage overall since this game is so damn fast and oppressive it feels like puppet and ranged characters are going to get their asses handed to them.

I recently thought of the probably the best thing for her, she doesnt have the ninja tools like usual but her second jutsu comes from the Doki she summons. Each Doki has a different jutsu that has some pretty unique effects. For example the Club Doki has a jutsu that breaks guards immediately to make up for no guard break pill or Claw Doki having a combo jutsu like Hidan for pressure and Armless Doki does a vortex that pulls enemies. Tell me that doesnt sound like an interesting idea.

Looks to me like they’re making the game a lil more compatible and competitive adding more combo options or ways to stop somebody from a continuous full bar combo with the counter not taking chakra giving you more opportunity to get into a guard break counter clash. Tilting being gone is a lil sad I ain’t gone lie

The changes are cool I guess, but for me the story mode and new characters are more important, cause I play more casually.
It should have 20 new characters..I dont think thats hard to do. Make the support characters like Kurenai, Anko etc full characters…like how has Kurenai never been playable in storm?? But also the new boruto kage like Kurotsuchi who were support characters should be full characters this time.

7 swordsmen, Kage bodyguards, fuckin ZETSU, Kurenai, Anko, Shizune, Golden and Silver brothers, InoShikaCho (the fathers), Gari and Pakura, Sakumo, Omoi. So many dope characters from Shippuden are way more interesting than the lame new gen kids, but unfortunately 99% they won’t be added since no one even talk about them.
I wish there was a create a ninja feature in this game. That would have made it so much better.

I was super hyped when they mentioned 2 jutsu for all characters but it's a big letdown that it cost the tilt attack. When I played storm 2 boss fight vs Itachi his tilt had me wondering if it was something only a boss could do. It was something that took skill in a high pressure fight that had an attack/ evade combo assist, dealing damage if hitting, helping if out of substitutions like the sage Kabuto boss fight. If you are taking too much damage it activates quick, deals damage if not evaded, at the end you basically get a teleport behind them, and it cost no chakra that's merely offensive benefits. You basically move across the whole map, an invincibility moment, and buy time to build up substitutions/chakra and in pvp where temari or tenten require little skill and can long distance spamming the tilt is a skill based attack that doesn't cost things you should conserve like chakra and subs, meanwhile it can flip the tables like grabbing a guard master or closing in on a distance fighter that's just itachi though. I was hoping it took away the air of predictability like Kakashi and his lightning blade which is a headlong charge you can side step vs any of his other to throw the opponent off balance or itachi exploding shadow clone good defense but worthless against Temari, Tenten, and especially puppet users so slow and no range keep distance. But Amaterasu the ninjutsu not ultimate jutsu it goes across the board disables puppets and tracks the puppeteer who seldom are proficient with guarding. Now a chakra dash runs straight into a bomb range user's tracking flames. But now I can't turn into crows and swarm you while sweeping across the board with no chakra loss and appearing behind you I hope it's salvaged somehow.
To be honest, i think this video just further proves how little Connections actually adds, in the end those are all minor things and/or technicalities, more than a DLC it looks to me like years worth of patches and updates shoved all at once and together to make a new game, maybe it's just me but i still don't feel this as "enough"

Yeah, imma need them to tech Tilts back into the game. I cant be the only one who misses Hashirama's gates or Kakashi's Kamui.
I thought I was gonna miss Kakashi's Kamui, but it's such a good support now, since Kakashi can be at a safe distance so he can't get hit out of it easily, and it can get you out of an opponent's combo without using a sub. Can't remember if it nullifies jutsu still, but if it does, I think it's a buff, and not a nerf.

@__senjutsu I've been the punching bag in my ninja storm 4 group cuz I never played it growing up (didn't have the money for games for my 360 lol), so Storm 4 was always frustrating cuz I felt like it was impossible to get a hang of the mechanics on a competitive level. This game feels SOOO much better in terms of balancing. I'm actually winning matches back to back on my random ass D.S Kakashi/Rock Lee/Itachi team, which would get folded in a heartbeat on 4. Don't feel like I'm gonna get insta-punished with a Rasengan to the face if I'm aggressive anymore 😂

Thats really gonna hurt characters like the bubble guy since he could shift around the stage while shooting bubbles. I guess its incentive to stay on the ground a little more often.

If you need to count tweaks like a faster Chakra regeneration rate, a new HUD and stopped time during Ultimates as a change just to count 50 changes, it just proves that this is a DLC. Considering this is a fighting game with 10 new characters, calling it a DLC season would be more fair.
Most of these changes would be (usually free) update content in other games. Technically these changes need to be compared to Demon Slayer, too. Demon Slayer uses the same engine and probably a lot of code from the Naruto games.
Just to put it in perspective: OpenMW, a Open Source Game, lists 58 changes (excluding bug fixes) for their current release version. One of them being a major change, namely mod script support. This version is being made in the free time of 19 people, consisting of 3.500 (minor) changes in total in about a year. Obviously it's hardly comparable but since you measure the effort by counting changes, we have a comparable amount of effort by people with not even closely as much resources for 70$ less

The stuff I dislike or hate:
-For me the new combo damage reduction scale have no sense. i played DNF Duel which have that system and if you go to training for free combos, you realize that making short combo with just specials does more damage than starting combo with normal attacks leading to the same special attacks makes actually a total of LESS damage. Which removes sense of making longer combos, the fun of trying to do longer combos etc.
If they need to have that damage reduction for balance, then they should make it scale with each attacks type as separated damage scale. So normal combos, throw/grab, jutsus and ultimate jutsus have seaparated damage reduction.
So for example if you do long combo with normal attacks of 30 hits, your normal attacks have reduced damage by around 50%, but then you are hitting your oponent for the first time with jutsu in that combo, so the jusu does 100% of the damage, if you continue that combo and do a second jutsu hit then the jutsu damage will be reduced, and then you do a throw/grab the first time so your throw/grab does 100% of the damage.
That way you can do longer combos and you are kind of forced to MIX the combos with different attack types to make the most damage with the combo.
Otherwise it can end up be worth to do a one hit leading to ultimate jutsu making more total damage because ultimate jutsu don't get damage reduced, than making 40 hit combo ending with ultimate jutsu, because ultimate jutsu does the most damage, but you are reducing it's damage with each combo hit so the longer combo you do the less rewarding damage you get from jutsus or ultimate jutsus, ending up doing more effort and spending more time for less total damage, meaning that shorter combos does more damage, and that doesn't have any sense in any game.
-Team gauge only working for 12 seconds... really? That's also stupid in my opinion, if it takes longer time to charge it then why making it even worse more. Now it's like a really short upgrade that slightly impact gameplay. It should stay for a lot longer.
-Awakenings only 15 seconds duration, so how I can learn how to play with awakenings if they are really short? Now it's just like a strategy to only awakening only if you have substitutions and your opponent is out of substitution, otherwise you are just wasting your awakening.
I would prefer to get nerfed versions of awakenings, but lasting even 1 minute or the whole round. 15 seconds is laughable.... you can't have fun using awakening, it's like time rush giving you pressure on time. In Storm 1 awakening were lasting 1 minutes long and they felt amaizing, all what they were doing is increasing combo damage and changing jutsus + slight guard break bonus. I didn't liked Storm 2 only 30 seconds awakenings and now it's only 15 seconds, that just feels bad.
-I'm not sure about new Substitution not regenerating gauge while being damaged, it could lead to infinite combos that is just broken in fighting games. The damage scaling might fix it, but as I wrote before I hate scaling damage in fighting games especially when special attacks and ultimate attacks are also reduced in damage, because most of the time you can end up making less damage than you would if you just pulled out easy short combos ending with specials or ultimate attack. So your time and effort just goes to trash, it's not worth doing long combos anymore, which makes the fighting game not feel good.
-Big awakenings are still bad.... I still see the same mistakes not fixing big awakenings. If one of players are in big awakening mode like susanoo, all substitutions should teleport players by a decent range, to not lead to insta combos... that is just broken and removes any sense of strategy, it's just brute force of dashing and combos, who have more substitutions he will lead in the fight... and that's just stupid.
-I still saw some bugs, like Naruto doing rasengan as support, Sasuke used substitution but got teleported in the same place but in the air, and he instantly got hit by explosion of rasengan.... if they can't fix it, then please at least allow us to instantly block after teleporting to avoid bugs like that, where you substitute form attack, you hold block button but there are frames where you cannot block and you get hit by the same attack you tried to avoid by using substitution. And it's now even WORSE! Because after you get hit by an jutsu the opponent can chakra dash to you and continue his combo. Making that one BUG with substitution lead to los of a lot of health bar. That will be annoying and broken as hell if not fixed.
-There is a bug with new character, the one that makes amaterasu, I saw that guy used his support, the opponent instatly hit the opponent with support but half second later the amaterasu just hit the guy, so the new character to make that amaterasu doesn't need to play the whole casting jutsu animation to release the amaterasu, he just need maybe even just 1 frame to release amaterasu flames, which makes this character BROKEN. None of characters should be ably to do it.
-1:29 I really don't like the idea of giving auto play mechanics... simplicity with different key combinations for easier movement is kind of fine if it will don't lead to new meta making it a lot better than old classic controls
-I'm not a fan of new counter mechanic, I don't play fighting games that have counter attacks that cannot be cancelled with good reflex or that do damage on you, or lead to combos which also means damage. Because counter attacks aren't predictable at all, it's a fighting game so it's about attacking your opponent, and your opponent can pull out counter attack at any time.
In storm 4 it was really fine to just push back opponent without dealing any damage and giving your time to recover or run. But leading to combos is just bad, gladly there are substitutions in this game, so it might not be as bad as I think in this game.
So what I like with new changes:
-Chakra regeneration, making you not waste your time on chakra charging and giving you more action, just making faster gameplay.
-Remove of chakra shurikens and nerf with throwing shurikens in air, that was spammable annoying.
-second jutsu, I hope that if second jutsu is the same as tilt attack and cost chakra, so it should do more damage than just a tilt attack.
-Jutsu in air, I hope all characters now can do jutsu in air.
-Full health regen per round. For me it didn't had any sense earlier so keep the health as it was, now it's like all other fighting games, giving you chance to come back.
-Items cooldown, not reducing the amount for the whole fight.
-Stun duration reduced
-Blocking is easier to break.

yeah, is pretty fair calling a dlc. You list minor changes that could be put on a patch. Few new character, stages, and adjustment to break, jutsu and tool. If you compare the roaster of storm 3/revolution, they are big. Also the diference by been able to play 3 character. Storm connection is literaly a premium edition dlc on 4k.
For me Naruto Storm Connections it doesn’t feels like a new Storm game at all, they changed only a few buttons commands and nothing more, the fact that they removed Tilts and they put the tilts moves on the second jutsus it's pretty lame, disappointing and lackluster, not to mention that they removed the jutsus selection completely from the beginning of the fight. 🤦🏻♂️ This game feels more like an update DLC than like an actual New Storm Game. But honestly, for me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. The First Storm game has the most Unique gameplay features perspective and the particular presentation of the game was so ahead of it's time in my opinion, the only downside of the first Storm game was the very lacking Story Mode Interactions, and from Storm 3 the developers cut and shortned the movesets of characters, that's why I don't agree with their choices. (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. (these have my favourite vibe and charm of the anime itself because of the dynamic gameplay features)
2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2( for the unique Story and some Unique Boss Battles and let's not forget that Iconic "Calm Before the Storm" OST from the Characters Selection Screen and many more diverse soundtracks)
3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Because of the more well-rounded diverse Story Perspective and very epic Boss Battles and also the soundtrack "Outside Konoha" and others soundtracks as well)
4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (mostly because of the unique option to change/switch between your characters team during the fight, this particular option mechanics should've been already in the game from the very first Storm game in my opinion)
5. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (because of the abused and annoying Counter mechanic) 🤷🏻♂️

I really hope that characters with a minuscule jutsu change get lumped into 1 with a jutsu select. So all the Naruto’s with a different rasengan or rasenshuriken are 1 guy
Bro they are adding more characters and taking away all the actual gameplay no more tilts no more chakra kunai and I guarantee it’s still missing the left and right direction combos for everyone. Been missing since storm 2 it was the go to for guard breaks and looked super cool and was the longest combos in the series instead of a brain dead one button

When it first was announced, you couldn't blame anyone for feeling that way with the trailer. But at this point with all these gameplay vids, I don't know how you could still call it Storm 4 DLC. Underwhelming changes maybe, but it's not Storm 4.

Jesus it's gonna be so spammy, they literally take away skill elements away like juggling, air combo resets, Chakra management, art of switching and remove game mechanics like air Kunai defense and tilts. That basically means they are dumbing the game down, leaving good players with less options to defend themselves against brainless people who mash and dash you with op characters.
Which essentially means low tier characters will be trash and I don't see myself picking them ever since I'll just get mashed to death.

Switching isn't an art. While the "best players" in the community may embrace it as a mechanic; it is single-handedly the most broken aspect of storm 4 aside from awakenings.
Leader switch alone counteracts the skillful elements of storm that the best players learned from storm generations onward.
Storm is good a BS fest of who can best abuse the most broken editions to the game.
I really hope they do something good for the puppet masters. They’re in the game for a reason and I wish they could attack just a bit faster. I hate fighting against players who rely too much on character switching with OP characters.
