Agree on Horseshoe Fall pre-flood. We used to vacation in the house above the falls in the 60's. It was 7-8 feet. We could swim up under the falls which was pretty cool as a kid.
Hey There Be aware that the Guadelupe is running low right now...about 50 cfs. You will probably have to walk most rapids. I was there today and almost every one I saw was walking through the shallows. The Comal is low too but still floats fine for now, so that may be an alternative for you. BUT, watch my vid on the chute first! :)
Hi The slackwater before and after Horse Shoe Falls is very good for bass along the banks. Most of the eddy currents on the river hold fish (bass and trout) as well but honestly, it is kind of hit and miss...the Guadelupe below the spillway is VERY pressured by tourists/fly fisherman throughout the year.
Lazy LL is several miles down river from Horseshoe Falls. The best bass fishing I have found is between the spillway and Horseshoe Falls. Put in your kayak at the spillway and float down about 10 minutes
Thanks for the video. Your comment was hilarious! Daddy doing the paddling!!! Is the realtor lady at the end your wife? Can you show me the free parking on 306? I still couldn't find it.
Thanks for watching! The free parking is about 300 yards up 306 from Whitewater Campground towards Gruene next to Cordova Creek. There are signs with arrows on them and you must park on the opposite side of the arrows.
thanks..will check that free parking out. We have a house that we will put it up for sale sooner later as soon as we get things moved out and get it fixed up. I will look for you again later.
We just rented a house just down by that House in the beginning of the river how long you think it would take to float in tubes From pretty much the begining to the horseshoe??? On a July weekend
Armando De La Cruz Hey there, Depending on the river flow, which can be very low in July, I would think 2 1/2 - 3 hours from the spillway to the top of the horseshoe.
I went all up the Guadalupe river from Gruene and just couldn't access the Guadalupe river. Everything seemed to be privatized and no parking anywhere. Is that normal?
Hi Lupe, Unfortunately yes, that is the way it is for river access. There is a small section of public parking about 1/4 mile from the river across from Whitewater Campground. Besides that, you usually will have to pay a fee to a campground or outfitter to park and play in the river.
@@colebierplease8448 Thanks for letting me know. Any clue why it's like that in Texas? Been to northern California and they even let you park on the side of the road to jump into the rivers there. Nothing privatized.
@@luperamos7307 5th generation Texan here and that is probably THE biggest disappointment about my home state…lack of public land. Texas is about 94% private property and the parks and such we do have are way overcrowded. The western states have large amounts of BLM, Forrest Service etc land that anyone can explore all they want. Not so here. There are public access points in New Braunfels to both rivers in the city parks that are pretty good.
@@colebierplease8448 Oh wow. I pictured Texas being so free before, but then I couldn't access a freaking river lol. I still really enjoyed my time there and thanks for showing.
@@luperamos7307 Yep Free in the civil liberties part but limited in the “right to roam” part… The entry and exit points in my video are both pubic btw Be well
Do you know any places to just swim in the Spring Branch area that's NOT Guadalupe River State Park? We basically just want to swim, hangout/have a few beers then go eat at the Anlter Cafe. Any info. much appreciated!
Hey there, thanks for watching! The best place near the Spring Branch area to chill and swim is 311 bridge. Simply drive to where FM 311 crosses the Guadalupe. Park at the top to the left of the NO PARKING signs and walk down to the river. There entire bank is a nice gravel bar and is understood to be public use. Enjoy

Thanks for watching and I agree, it was a very cool place back then…

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for watching, appreciate it

Colebier Please I appreciate the heads up, We are actually staying on Canyon Lake
Sorry
I didn't know the aspect of the camera was "skinny" on a few shots until I was editing. I will be more careful next video!
This guy is AWESOME!!! We floated the Comal river and lost a brand new phone today and he found it diving....a lifesaver!
Worked at white water sports in 70 s maybe 100 people on river all day
know any good river fishing spots from the spillway to new braunfels? Can you catch more bass or trout during summer time?

how far horseshoe falls is away from lazy L&L campground do you know?

Bass for sure, but Canyon Lake is a hard lake to fish. Been fishing there my whole life and it's a tough one.
