i’ve had my turtle for 5 years, he’s only a 6 inch turtle but i still set him up with a 175 gallon tank, with a bioactive habitat, and i made him a cave system in aquatic substrate that he loves to climb in, and for some reason he loves to burrow into the ground so i gave him a little digging spot in one corner of his tank

You can get a food safe tub and that could be a good alternative to a glass aquarium. It’s a great low budget option. You don’t need to spend a lot to make your turtle happy.🐢

What made you think turtle food is healthy for them? Once i tried to feed it and then the next day i noticed it had trouble breathing, so i decided to take it to the hospital where i made an scan and the food i gave him was stuck in the throat and stomach and the doctor said there was no way to save the turtle. So my turtle died and i had to spend my whole life savings just to buy a new one. Dont make the same mistake as me and dont feed turtles turtle food!

aquatic turtle need much more water than this! please dont only fill the tank up half way, aquatic turtles need the tank to be completely full of water. they only need a relatively small basking area.
