I tried white vinegar, even full strength it did not make a dent. Very heavy brown build up with a lot of minerals stuck to the jar. What did work was Lysol toilet bowl cleaner. I put 2 inches in the bottom of the jar then filled the rest with hot water, and left overnight, scrubbed and voila! Most of it gone. The stuff on the outside was still there, but I think wrapping jar in paper towels and soaking them overnight should remove that, too. Kind of gross but it works because Lysol uses hydrochloric acid instead of acetic acid like vinegar. Bob the scientist
how to clean the metal plate under the blades and directly below bottom of plastic jug? l noticed yours is stained darkish as well, that can get into the blend, it does for mines, and it looks dangerous to consume. l had a juicer that was easy to remove the base so could scrub it clean.
If you want to soak your container in straight vinegar, get a glass bottle of some kind that barely fits in the Vitamix container, fill it with water, and put in the Vitamix container, and then add the vinegar. That way,you only need a cup or so of vinegar.
Mike Dunn Thanks Mike. I found that straight vinegar didn't work as well as using the abrasive of the baking soda. But I do think a good soap would at least loose and stuff up! Cheers, Sara
Baking soda is an abrasive like super abrasive especially for plastic if you do it long enough it will "polish" the plastic but it's clear so it's near impossible to make it crystal clear since there's billions of micro scratches on the surface. Good luck

Good stuff.
can you use this same method to take off a turmeric stain from Vitamix blender
Sunshine will remove turmeric stains. Just put outside for a few hours up to a day in the bright sunlight.
Sara Marie, High Vibe Life ok I will try it thanks
