  • Thank you for watching my Texas style pork belly video. On this video, I took an 8 pound pork belly and seasoned it Texas style using nothing but salt and pepper. I've made pork belly several different ways but this recipe is by far my favorite. I smoked this pork belly on my Yoder YS640 pellet smoker and as you'll see, it came out absolutely perfect.

    Man o man!!! That looks just awesome! I love how simple the prepping is, the seasoning, the demonstration, even the music in the background was perfect, nothing loud or obnoxious . I am making my own pork belly today and absolutely will replicate your method. Thanks for sharing!!!!

    Lived in El Paso for about 5yrs. Great little city. Normally make bacon out of mine but damn that looks good. Definitely will try. Great job 👍🏻

    It would be great to see one or more videos on how to clean, maintain, and store your grill grates. What are the different kinds? Which ones to use depending on the situation? That's always a problem area for me.

      In europe meat in general is a lot less fatty, that can be a good and a bad thing depending on what you need it for. But for pork belly its much better imo. For brisket not so much

    Nice Joe - I've never tried pork belly but I'm going to after this. I use charcoal mostly (Weber Smoky Mountain). What cut does it taste like? Pork Shoulder?

    Slowly, I've been working my up to my ultimate goal with grilling/smoking, and that's doing Texas style brisket.
    This, I think I'll try out as somewhat of a "trail and error" run. Either, I see that as a win-win, I do love me some pork belly.

    I really enjoy the simplicity of your seasoning! I do have a question though, “what would the addition of brown sugar do?” I am up north in Montana and people seem to like a little sweet with pork.

    Hey Joe awesome cook as usual. I have a question for you. What made you go with the Yoder ys640 over the Lonestar pellet smoker? Thanks in advance

      Yoder has been making pellet smokers for many years vs. the Lonestar one that just came out. Not saying the Lonestar smoker is inferior but Yoder has a proven track record and it is the top American Made 🇺🇲 pellet smoker in the business. 👍
