Shatter Me did not ''end'' in the third at all and there's 6 :) I just finished and I must say I loved it!! the last 3 books are reeeally dark... Also, the first 3 books are mostly about the romance (and it seems that it could end at the third because of it), but the last 3 have a lot of action. By the way, I love your videos and basically I had to start a list of books to read cause I was so curious about them after hear you talking about them :D
Hii! Both me and my dad have been watching your videos and then he recommended your vlog channel and I went “what! I already watch her!” So now we watch your videos together! I just thought that was cute haha:)
This might be a weird thing to comment on but i appreciate that you repeat the title after you're done talking about it as well. It's something I didn't even realize i appreciated it until I noticed that I'd watch other youtubers talk about books and I'd go "oh that's interesting" and I'd wait for them to repeat the title so I could add it to my TBR ...and they never did...and I had to go back for the title 😅 i know, extreme laziness 😳 but thanks for including titles at the end 💖
At the end of chain of iron I just screamed. I mean, I understand why she did that cliffhanger but it was exasperating. A truly frustrating end. Never have I ever wished for Will to disappear.
I love Legendborn 🧡 it is so good! Everytime I hear someone talk about it it makes me so happy! And I totally get the feeling to make an entire video for it because it is just the best.
I finished legendborn. Then immediately restarted the audio book. I was frantically searching for when book two would come out and how many books are planned for the series. (Couldn't find anything) I also bought two copies. Gifted one because everyone needs to read it!
We can suffer as we wait for the next book i after Legendborn to come out- I loved it as much as you and I screamed when i found out the next one wasn’t out yet-
I really like the characters CC has created in TLH. They are all so different and represent so many things. We have Matthew and his problems, a main love interest who’s pretty reserved and would rather read a book than go to a ball, Cordelia who I have a lesbian crush on, ANNA LIGHTWOOD, Lucie with her artistic soul, Grace and her past and of course J E S S E
it’s very interesting to see you reading and talking about YA books that were popular years ago cause i feel like the YA genre has evolved a lot the last couple of years and most of older YA books usually don’t stand the test of time
Cari! I read "Sweet Bean Paste" after watching one of your videos. I loved it, and I think it's the first time that a book had made me cry. I had been struggling to find books that were engaging, and your video recaps/ reviews have been a real help! :)
i've been out of booktube/social media for while due to a big readingl slump and I'm so glad to be watching your videos again 💕. I felt the exact same thing about Chain of Iron : sooo frustrating. I hope Chain of Thorns to be better 🤞
Ahhhhh too many books to read ! I will start Legendborn when the whole saga is published because I hate cliffhangers ! Currently reading King of Scars (god, I love this universe and these characters !) and I can't wait for the Netflix series ... Thank your for all the recommendations Cari, love from France ❤️
These wrap ups give me life! 🤩 Always a delight listening to you talk about books! 🤗 I just got extra hyped about Rule of Wolves!! Can't wait to get my hands on it!!! 😁 I'm currently reading The Gilded Ones and it is darn intriguing!!! Really recommend it!!! 😇
I don't know if you've already read it, but 'The Last Magician' by Lisa Maxwell is really good! It's a historic fantasy that has time travel and heists and amazing characters. It has a similar vibe to Six of Crows, I think you would like it! Also, great video!!
I think you’ll like the next three shatter me books even more, like in ACOMAF you meet so many new characters and there’s so much more plot and it’s really fast paced, I would love to know your thoughts on the whole entire series and the last novella
I liked Legendborn a lot, mostly starting about half-way through with the section about Roots. And then OMG. I'm not particularly into Arthurian legends (as source material to be re-interpreted or referenced), but I *loved* how the book incorporated aspects of it. I loved the part about her hair care too!
Love all these recs, I have had Legendborn on my TBR for a bit now and I need to read it for sure! I'm reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik and so far its quite good!! The magic is written in such a unique way. I've only read about half of the book so far but I'd already recommend it tbh haha
I felt the opposite about Klara and the Sun. I loved the ending but not everything in between. I agree with everything you pointed out about the book though especially Klara treating the Sun as a god which I was amused by as I was reading the book. I didn't see many people talking about this.
I'm digging your description of Descendant of the Crane. I'd love me an ending that I will forever hate and/or curse for the rest of my life. Let me put that on my TBR. Hahaha.
I really latched on to the hair scene in legendborn as well and I couldn’t place why- thank you for putting it so eloquently! Currently wondering if I should reread it even though I only read it a month ago 😅
I continue watching your book videos when I'm not even super into the genres you usually read lol. With your videos at least I get the premise of books I would probably never even know about. Maybe one day I'll want to actually read them too.
Please try reading the last 3 books in the shatter me series, we get to know a ton more about their back stories and legit huge secrets are revealed about Juliette and warner
Ah yes, Klara and the Sun. I just about finished it. I agree with you completely. It was interesting, but I feel like I was waiting for a twist, which ended with me being kinda disappointed. I’ve just started reading the remains of the day, but I will definitely check out never let me go. Let’s hope the remains of the day is better than Klara and the Sun.
kyaaa!! Shatter Me was such a comfort read when I was 16 and have considered rereading the trilogy (it's not a trilogy anymore?!?!?!?) again recently. But I bet I'd feel the same way about it 🙈
Maybe you could download goodread or storygraph to keep track of the books we’ve read, are currently reading and want to read. I personally find them to be very useful apps, it’s really satisfying when you say you’ve finished reading your current read. You can also set a reading goal for the year
I finished reading The Princess Must Die by Jaymin Eve, and maybe you'd like it? It's fantasy, so I think it could be up you alley. Basically the MC is an elf chosen one to control The Storm, which is a whole thing. It follows a little bit on the Shatter Me because she can't touch anyone or the lightning in her body will kill them. She's kind of a bad ass, which I liked. Also, let me mention that I specifically read this book in order to avoid working on my thesis. I'm thinking on whether I regret it or not and still haven't reached a conclusion lol
not sure if you have read this series or not, but i really loved the gilded wolves, it completely blew me away lol (and the sequel ‘the silvered serpents’ was even better)
Cari have you read anything by Brandon Sanderson? I highly recommend Warbreaker or Elantris, really awesome standalone reads!! Also I cannot wait til my hold for Rule of Wolves comes in AHHH
At first I assumed you were talking about Klara when you were talking about Shatter Me... Klara was unfortunately a weak book. I felt bad "panning" it in my review because Ishiguro is such a, usually, great writer. This was just a weak book and if it had been written before he had written anything else , I can't imagine it would find a publisher. Love your video. Nice episode. Oh an recommendations if you haven't read it, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (i think Klara was trying to do what this book did so well when it came to looking at the question "what does it mean to be human")
I wanted to love Legendborn SO much, especially after seeing all the hype, I thought it was straight up my alley but it just didn't :( I mean, I liked it but I wasn't flabbergasted by it. Maybe it's because being a POC in Europe (obviously, not black but asian), the whole aspect of being a young black woman in US didn't really resonate in me that much (even if it left me with a lot of feelings) and I just didn't really get into the plot with the retelling of King Arthur etc. Maybe I'll give it another try when the 2nd will be out since I own the 1st book haha I don't know if you have it on your radar but you should check also The Bone Shard Daughter. It's fantasy, it's dark, the magic system is great, the characters are super interesting and it's a trilogy so the 2nd will be released in November!
I already read 7 books this month and it's all because of Air Awakens!!! It is a 5-book series (so so good!!), so my recommendation - Air Awakens by Elise Kova
Hey, found you recently and I love your charisma and humour in your vids!! Just wanted to ask, maybe you've addressed it in another video, how do you feel about the controversy surrounding Cassandra Clare and her allegedy being very problematic?
Okay I'm going to try Legendborn again. I've got the paperback from Illumicrate. I've been hovering around chapter 5 or so, just hard to get into for me. The "hey, I'm discovering a secret society of magic and i'm freaking out and look a cute boy!" just sounded so cliché to me.
I know it's not spooky szn (i mean for me it's all year round lol) but can you read The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher? It's such a good creepy yet light read and the dialogue between the two main characters is *chef's kiss*
im reading shadow and bone right now quickly before the show comes out next week 😂 also i already have legendborn on my list and i cant wait to read it!!
@@sophiam.1625 hahaha yes! I’m really liking it so far and tbh I like it that it’s more fast paced than Six of Crows hahah don’t know if you’ve read it
I was wondering if you managed to finish On Earth we're Briefly Gorgeous? What were your thoughts? I just recently finished it myself and it was really good!
You should really read The Diabolic, The Empress and The Nemesis (forgot the author). The first 2 books gave me so many feelings. The second most of all: I wanted it to throw it actross the room and than continue reading. I still have to read the third. But I really loved them.
the shatter me second trilogy is crazy like the plot 😮 i can’t believe after i finished ignite me i thought it was it. i would recommend the second trilogy if you like kenji, he was the reason i continued lmao. but yeah overall it’s a very meh series. the characters are ok and the writing style isn’t my fav (it gets better tho).
Joan He had a problem with her publisher, something like they weren't paying her for Descendant of The Crane or something like that so she got out of that publishing house but because of that she cant also write a sequel to the book 😅
I recently read Six Of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, loved them but now am not sure if I should delve into the trilogy? In terms of quality regarding plot/story, how does the trilogy compare with the duology?
honestly I wouldn’t know because in 2019 I read SOC/CK and never read the trilogy. I’m not interested either, I just look it up to see what happened. Most of the fandom felt that the duology was better than the trilogy. That’s what I’ve heard.
Please don't make us wait until the middle of May for the Rule of Wolves video, I have finished the book 4 days ago and I want to hear you rant about it so I could scream at the screen 😭😭😭😭
I admit I didn't like Namesake as much as Fable because the plot was a bit boring and West was pissing me off lmao. I love love Saint tho. Btw have you read Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko? It's one of my favorites!
As someone who is a HUGE Shadowhunter fan, Chain of Iron was kinda.... Disappointing. Chain of Golf was SUCH a good book, and the ending was just BOOM. But in CoI, the things I was looking forward to, like Matthew povs, Adriane and Anna etc weren't there. Also, the ending... I feel like even if James and Cordelia ended up together with everything sorted out in CoI, there would be A LOT for the next book too: the side characters are worth it, the plot it kinda worth it, and stuff. But yeah... Hoping the next book comes soon and is better.
"What happens when robots become religious, I had never really thought about that before" Yea you and the majority of the planet, I hope 😂 you crack me up Cari! Also did you ever try the Outlander series? It's infinitely better than the series!
You definitely made a good choice by only reading 3 of the shatter me books. I am not the biggest fan of the last ones. Did not like the plot twists, not my cup of tea. I also want to add that the first books were realised like right after thg. I recommend reading the books to anyone who hasn’t read it though, they are in my opinion really good.

i have but i dont remember the plot AT ALL hahaha maybe i'll reread^^
I watch ur video and literally on the same day I go and find legendborn and buy it 😂
I admit I didn't like Namesake as much as Fable because the plot was a bit boring and West was pissing me off lmao. I love love Saint tho. Btw have you read Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko? It's one of my favorites!
Yes 90% of the time i was like west -______-
As someone who is a HUGE Shadowhunter fan, Chain of Iron was kinda....
I totally agree (and sorry but ‘chain of golf’ made me laugh out loud) 😂
City of brass, the entire Daevabad trilogy
"What happens when robots become religious, I had never really thought about that before" Yea you and the majority of the planet, I hope 😂 you crack me up Cari!
Also did you ever try the Outlander series? It's infinitely better than the series!
I’m watching outlander recently 😂😭
@@ohohnenyeoo2654 I did the first two seasons, but then I couldn't be bothered to continue. But I am extremely picky about book adaptations 😅
@@joanahenriques8863 ok 😂
miscommunication is the real enemy in the last hours .
🥰
please do your opinions of chain of iron with spoilers🙏
