Early problems (about 10 years ago) had to do with the molding of the plunger - the solution was to take the plunger apart and file it down the burr that was getting in the way of the plunger dropping. I did that and it worked for a few years. Just recently it started leaking again in spurts. The solution to that is to unscrew the unit off its base as shown in this video to reveal the plunger. You will see a silicone ring (seal). it wears down with time on one side, so take it off (comes off easily) and reverse it putting it back on. Now put back the unit on the base. I did this and the unit is good to go again. Try this before you buy a replacement part - hope it works for you - time to Nip this in the butt!

Your video saved me hours of play with the toilet. The lady at product support for Water Ridge gave me some info. 1. The Costco Customer gets special treatment. I replaced the Filler valve than called Water Ridge water. it Turns out that the Toilet has a pretty long warranty, so, I should have called them first- they sent me a free refill valve since I bought the one myself, and they send me a free flapper valve. I did not have any of the purchase info but was able to give them the Serial number and model number from the paper that was in the tank. Now this video made me aware of the portability of the flapper valve and in 4 minutes I was done (turn off water, wrestle a short amount of time with the valve and then turn on the water valve again (Don't forget to turn off the water, flush to empty and then -as my Britt friends say, Bob's your uncle:.

My toilet was leaking very slowly which caused a low frequency vibration/noise from the old mechanism. Thank you for the excellent video. It was amazingly simple process. I was concerned how I would get the wing holding the new unit back in place. When you unscrew it to about 1/4" to the end there is plenty of play to get it into place. When tightening the screw you might need to use another screwdriver to stop the wing from rotating. After reassembly the toilet worked with no vibration noise meaning the seal is very good.

Just tried this - after about 90 minutes waiting on hold warranty is only 5 years - part from Globe Union is $45 plus shipping... the issue on ours seems to be the rubber seal - a $4 part for other manufacturers - if Water Ridge cannot provide reasonably priced replacement parts - they should get out of the business or people should boycott their product.

Very good video. I have several of these toilets. On one of them you have to keep the button pressed in to flush. What causes that? Other toilets flush like yours, just press and release

Checkout 4:50 of the video, my guess is the rod is not long enough in the one with problem, and your press did not go all the way, so you have to hold a half pressed in button to flush that toilet

Dude ...it would've really helped a lot if you would've used a flashlight or something to illuminate the inside of that very dark tank because viewers cannot see what the heck you were talking about also you oversimplified the explanation. Remember the old saying, "the devil is in the details".
