As a german i find it quite fascinating that almonst nobody knew Annenmaykantereit before this song. I've been listening to them for a long time, so i love the fact, that they're getting world wide attention from this cover! His voice is just so special, never heard something quite like it.

As a singer, I can tell you how just how hard it is to push to get that grit on your voice. Once you do find it, it is incredibly difficult to control. Once you begin to control it, it is beyond imagination how difficult it is to interject it when you want, at the given amount you desire.
This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. One reason why I love Frederiks voice is their cover of Life On Mars (David Bowie):
You´re right when you said it seems like another band. The first room is just the band from AnnenMayKantereit and in the second room you have the Giant Rooks at first. In the 3rd verse they then join all together.
