Got my RAV4, haven’t been able to enjoy it. With this video I was able to find out right away how to unlock all all doors without the key. Makes it a lot easier when I’m carrying my son and other things not to dig in my pockets for the keys or open the door to unlock the back doors. Thanks a lot!
This Toyota is gonna outlast any chevy or Ford or Hyundai etc .See the only problems but at the same time its smart, Toyota does not change what is not broken, their improvements and upgrades takes time. This engine for example might be louder,but its dual port injection and no carbon will build up on your intakes and internal components. It got plenty of power even without any turbos,because it brakes. Toyota know what its doing and,but it takes time with upgrades. This Rav4 has been great so far

I don’t want to look crazy going it a try myself and there’s a lot of videos showing how many luggages would fit in the cargo area but not the back. One disappointment I have is the lack of an accessory delay. When I turn off the car the audio stops immediately. I know you can select accessory after shutting down but then there's a boot up delay, another delay redetecting the phone etc. I far preferred my other vehicles' accessory delay that would cancel in 10 minutes or when you opened the door. I thought for sure the Rav4 must have a setting for this but so far I cannot find one.

My Toyota came from Japan was shipped to Nebraska somehow. I drove it back to Chicago from the dealership. This 2019 Xle has sunroofs and some options that never ones 2020 and 2021 dont have but no power seats. Different parts of the world have different options on the same car. Good thing is its a Toyota :-)
You can also adjust the bass, treble and front-back fader audio settings and many other things. It's fun to be able to customize your car, for your personal taste. I also changed the door locks to all unlock-or lock, from the default driver's door only setting. You do NOT have to have the engine running, the menus are available after pushing the start button twice.(without touching the brake pedal.)

The wireless lock when door opened has nothing to do with the internet or unlock capabilities from your phone, etc. If that setting is off, then the vehicle will not allow you to lock it via the fob if any door is left open or even slightly ajar. Instead it will make a steady tone to let you know that a door is not fully closed. If the setting is on, then you will be able to lock the vehicle with no indication that a door isn't fully closed.
ive seen the comments about what the dealer did not show them and you did, but the manual has all this info, plus a settings menu in plain sight is not "hidden"
On the 2020 and 2021 models, there's an option to enable Android Auto in the General settings tab. What it does is the same as the Apple CarPlay, automatically switch to AA/ACP when you plug an Android or an iPhone, respectively. I think 2019 models can get it through a dealer-serviced firmware update

Toyota really need to work on small details better. I am really annoyed how they could not even make illuminated overhead map light buttons. The only way to turn on the rear light on from the passenger side is to set it on door setting.

It is very easy to make dashboard brighter. To the left of the steering wheel knee level, you should see a knob, simply turn it up and your display will be brighter at night.as for apple car,play i do not know because i have android phone. It must,be safety feature..
I have Rav4 hybrid le , I just realized how important is a heated mirrors. I don't have it on my vehicle and it's bad on views in rain or snow. Is there anyway I can change this to heated mirrors?
There is no button for heated mirrors, when you turn on front defroster your mirror should start defrosting. And yes there mirror you can install with defrosting element.

My Rav4 is 2019, it just came out that year and there was no Android auto, only AppleCarplay. For 2020 year Toyota upgraded radio system and you get both AppleCarplay and Android Auto
Any chance there is remote start setting in here. Got a smart key but still remote start doesn't work maybe it is an additional package becuz it doesn't work on mine
Remote start does not come with all models. I have XLE push start but it does not come with this model. It depends on what audio unit you have. If its basic radio system like mine even though its XLE than you will not have remote start,but if its premium toyota entine unit than you will have that feature. You can also buy from start-x remote module and install it yourself, its easy.
I had same issue, my preselected favorite contacts keep deleting. Dealer replaced my radio after i made complaint with North America Toyota. At first dealer tried to tell me it was my phone but it wasn’t, i even got new phone. Dealer reset my radio, than did update but nothing worked until they changed my radio.
I don't like my doors unlocking when putting in park. I prefer to unlock manually as a safety precaution. I don't have Rav4 but a Toyota and mine looks the same. Hopefully, I can turn off this feature. Thanks!
Exactly. Its not hidden settings. People just don't mess around enough to notice it. TBH most case people don't even go into setting beside setting up Bluetooth lol.
Just wondering the DRL strips couldn't turn on, on a 2020rav4 limited. The box in for DRL in the vehicle setting was checked. What could be the problem.
Check switch on left side of steering column. There's is position DRL off, auto and on. Also when that switch is in auto position, its gonna turn on when its dark. If nothing works,could be the fuse.
Unfortunately not on this trim level. Not on LE or XLE. The sensors are there but Toyota deactivated those sensors. If you buy Adventure models and hybrid they might have it.

In my vehicle its under settings. Go to your settings/vehicle customization/than door lock settings. Also i know for sure that dealer can set it up for your.
Hello - I just purchased a RAV4 LE. Yesterday, when I started up it gave me the normal ding, ding, ding tone. Today it isn't making that tone/sound. Is there some way that I accidentally turned that off in settings?
Well you probably forgot to close one of your windows or left headlights on. If it is not make any warning tones,than you are ok.OK. I had same problem when I forgot to close sunroof,it gave me warning din ding sound.
Ok ... so I have 2019 xle premium ... I just noticed that icon for the headlights and for instance turning on the switch knob for fog lights or off illuminates.... should the auto switch illuminate as well in the indicating on dashboard illuminates and outside head lights turn off amount of seconds too by itself once you go outside ..lock walk away?

You can change it on your steering wheel controls. Go to main display under vehicle setting,look for unit of measurements. Im talking about display thats in the cluster gauge.
@@nazarettos6987 The reality is that there is an actual hidden setting built into the infotainment system and you’re not talking about it. It’s the diagnostics mode. Turn on the car. MENU DISPLAY (to make it go dark) 5 times SKIP 5 times TRACK
On my recently bought 2017 RAV4 Hybrid, the "Vehicle" menu is not accesible, it's dimmed down. I've tried with power on an off and standing on one foot and dancing to ABBA songs but nothing lights the damn thing up. My patience with electronics is as long as a smurf's tail so I can only do short sessions dealing with this shit. Love the car, though, drives like an absolute dream.
Its fine my car does the same. The little icon stay on when the setting is set to that preset,but when you change it to blow towards windshield it will dissappear when you turn off blower.
I watched a fucking 10 minute video to see these "Hidden settings" only to find out that they were plainly viewable settings that aren't hidden at all.
Toyota dealers just want to Sell their cars. Not interested in telling the new owner all this sort of information. I reckon half of what my 2020 Rav is capable of I'm not aware of so naturally I don't use. Shame.

I bought mine in PR same model XLE and yes, it has all the features that are presented in the video.

NONE OF THESE SETTINGS ARE HIDDEN, they are right there in the SETTINGS MENU.

Toyota in years past had the odometer button programmed for ON or OFF selection.
You can’t, i know its annoying but you can’t disable it.

It is actually under the same menu. All the way to the bottom. It's called Lock/Unlock Feedback Tone.

Exactly. Its not hidden settings. People just don't mess around enough to notice it. TBH most case people don't even go into setting beside setting up Bluetooth lol.

Just wondering the DRL strips couldn't turn on, on a 2020rav4 limited. The box in for DRL in the vehicle setting was checked. What could be the problem.
Check switch on left side of steering column. There's is position DRL off, auto and on. Also when that switch is in auto position, its gonna turn on when its dark. If nothing works,could be the fuse.

Unfortunately not on this trim level. Not on LE or XLE. The sensors are there but Toyota deactivated those sensors. If you buy Adventure models and hybrid they might have it.

In my vehicle its under settings. Go to your settings/vehicle customization/than door lock settings. Also i know for sure that dealer can set it up for your.
Hello - I just purchased a RAV4 LE. Yesterday, when I started up it gave me the normal ding, ding, ding tone. Today it isn't making that tone/sound. Is there some way that I accidentally turned that off in settings?
Well you probably forgot to close one of your windows or left headlights on. If it is not make any warning tones,than you are ok.OK. I had same problem when I forgot to close sunroof,it gave me warning din ding sound.
Ok ... so I have 2019 xle premium ... I just noticed that icon for the headlights and for instance turning on the switch knob for fog lights or off illuminates.... should the auto switch illuminate as well in the indicating on dashboard illuminates and outside head lights turn off amount of seconds too by itself once you go outside ..lock walk away?
Auto switch will not illuminate on dashboard,but when it's in auto and it gets dark your lights will turn on.

I thought it's some malfunctioning already my new RAV4 ... it's the daylight saving time that fooled me... used to seeing the illumination early dark morning going to work ... now it's brighter than usual morning..(hour ahead).. like WTH ..there's something wrong here....hahaha ... but thanks for reminding me... With Toyota if your headlights are off auto the DRL will be off too. That’s why it says DRL off under auto
You can turn them off under the vehicle customization settings

You can change it on your steering wheel controls. Go to main display under vehicle setting,look for unit of measurements. Im talking about display thats in the cluster gauge.

I had same issue,you can't use cheap charging cable. Buy better quality data transfer cable.

There is option to get rid of animation,its under vehicle settings. But caution ⚠️ im not sure.

Why would you have Apple CarPlay off? Turn that on! It’s awesome when you plug in your phone.
It is not off, I did not disconnect that feature. All I did install wireless charger,that USB connector was untouched.

You bought a fob.. why would you get the keys out and push the buttons?? All you have to do grab the front drive and passenger side door handles.
yes I got fob,but don't get used to luxury. Also I have my house keys attached to my fob and I don't forget them this way.
On my recently bought 2017 RAV4 Hybrid, the "Vehicle" menu is not accesible, it's dimmed down. I've tried with power on an off and standing on one foot and dancing to ABBA songs but nothing lights the damn thing up. My patience with electronics is as long as a smurf's tail so I can only do short sessions dealing with this shit.
Love the car, though, drives like an absolute dream.
Thats 2017 you are talking about,its totally different Rav4.

Its fine my car does the same. The little icon stay on when the setting is set to that preset,but when you change it to blow towards windshield it will dissappear when you turn off blower.

Rav 4 isn't much I'm driving a rental now.
Toyota dealers just want to Sell their cars. Not interested in telling the new owner all this sort of information. I reckon half of what my 2020 Rav is capable of I'm not aware of so naturally I don't use. Shame.
