Brother i've seen closeups of matte coatings and it's barely blurred. Just like our eye combines 3 subpixel colors into pure white, imperfections from matte coatings on the same scale can't possibly affect the quality. It's not nearly enough to make pixels overlap, and considering you can't even distinguish a 4k pixel at a normal viewing distance how are you able to see subpixel stuff
@@scofozo Just like mine, i have glossy on my phone and matte on the desk display, i'm literally looking rn there is no fucking difference and it's 1440p not even 4k ffs

I got the W-OLED LG 39GS95QE for gaming and web browsing and i couldn't be happier. By not comparing it side by side with a QD-OLED, you would not even notice a difference !

@@LoneWolf767F pretty much. I'll stick with my 42" C4 until they make a glossy version of this. 45 or 40" is fine by me. Hopefully RGB OLED will be a thing by then.
By "shit" you mean a monitor with higher pixel density, higher aspect ratio and superior specs in just about every other concieveable way - Somebody who has the Glossy Alienware 4k 240hz OLED.
I thought the 165hz of this tv would be more than enough? Because Why would you want 240hz when the RTX 4090 at 4k gaming struggles at hitting more than 100-120 fps on new games ?
That must be a Primary WOLED. Those colors actually look comparable to QD-OLED (monitors of course). Like he said, QD-OLED televisions still have the best color volume.
Proud owner of a 2nd gen qd-oled s90c, modded for no Abl and higher peak brightness and fullscreen brightness. Tried a top of the line 4k 240hz qd-oled monitor and it wasn't close ro what this tv achieves and the difference between 144hz and 240hz is truly negligible. Also the tv only cost me 900 so it was an amazing deal 😁
I really want a high refresh rate 5k2k ultrawide. 165Hz would be fine for single player games but the image has to be excellent, so we'll see about the matt finish. I'm looking forward to the review!
Nice that's what real gaming wide screens should look like, the whole narrow vertical height always felt it was more appropriate for a work setting not for gaming where you want to be more immersed.
Matte coating and 400nits peak are major red flags for this. 165hz is disappointing but I could live with it if it wasn't for the other two problems. The wait for the ultimate screen goes on.
Also will this new ultra gear 45 be better for productivity and work ? The issue was text wasn’t clear on the ultra gear 45 and it wasn’t great for web browsing , spreadsheets or documents to be viewed .
1st - Are you sure on the speakers? I know I had seen previously on the LG website, the 950A will have speakers and the 990A will not(because of the bending). 2nd, Last I saw the 950A is expected at $2k, with no mentioned MSRP on the 990A. 3rd - When you get this to review, any feedback on work, as well as gaming, is really appreciated. I know that 90% are concerned about the gaming, and hoping that finish is more glossy, but a few of us also want to work with this at 5k resolution and like hearing your opinion. My 32" at 4k makes me think that most people would still want some bend on this at 5k when you have multiple windows open for browsing, outlook, coding, etc.? Complete guess, but I was thinking most would only want this flat for watching movies or video editing? When you review this please throw out some opinions about what bend you like when working at 5k resolution, and mention how good or bad the KVM is as well and multiple computers/PS5 connected. Can you throw a mouse/keyboard dongle on a LG USB port and quickly switch that port between computers? It would be nice to hear if you think most people over time might just leave it at 900R, or most probably would change it for work, different types of games(driving/flight sim vs. FPS vs. work), etc. Also. compare this to the 800R(more aggressive) curve in the 950A and let us know what you prefer for most after you have used both? Do you think most would want the flexibility? or the more aggressive curve on the 950A?
I am still waiting for 45-inch 4K ultrawide (5120x2160) QD-OLED glossy gaming monitors with up to a 900R curve. I really hope they are out at least by Q4 2025 at the latest. 165Hz would be plenty for me. OLED is around 50% faster than LCD at the same refresh rate, so a 165Hz OLED is slightly faster than a 240Hz LCD.
5K sounds pretty sweet, I might really like that pixel density. What kind of video card it takes to drive that well, and if we can actually get those, is a different story. Thumbs up!
@ They're already using DSC to hit 165hz, it's not a video bandwidth issue, the hardware designers were being lazy. The next version of this monitor will be 240hz at 5K2K.
Can someone help explain why the refresh rate would be better higher since you can’t hit more than 100-120fps on the RTX 4090 playing the new games anyway? Or the fps doesn’t matter?
here's the endgame panel, now lets put a mudcoat on it so you can enjoy it on your GAMING rig at the living room, or the balcony

This is what I’ve been waiting for
Matte is what I like for regular everyday work. I hate looking at my own reflection in the monitor while working long hours.

I got one too, and I even compared them side by side.
not end game until 5k 240hz / 1440p 480hz
I agree.. so one more year of waiting sadly 😢
It's $2000 for the nonbendable version according to TFT Central. So the bendable one is probably $2500.
I'd be fine with the non bendable one for that price
I was thinking 3k so I was kinda close
I think the bendable is going to be closer to 3k. That's just how business is done.
Any news on the 39" 5k?
Q4 2025 iirc
the non bendable one will be my next monitor
Pretty sure... yea... pretty damn sure I am going to buy this.
How can I be rich like you biggest bro
Even with the coating

I have been waiting for this but I want that glass but maybe since they started it this kickes off a new age of ultrawide 5k oleds
The 39" version revamped like this would be ideal!!!
34 inch"
agree, 45" is too big to be usable as a regular monitor, 39" would be the same vertical height as 31.5" 16:9, the maximum usable size for a monitor
45 inch glossy 4k 240 hz will be the one not this shit
Yea. I want this one but glossy 4k 240. Ima just stick with my current monitor until then.

April sounds great. Hopefully it will come as white version as well
I believe April is for the non bendable 800R version. LG stated that the bendable one’s release date is TBD.

IF it matt ty keep it for you self
I want this!
Wonder when we'll be able to buy these.
amazing!
This resolution at 39 inch size and it's end gane for me!
It has the slow dp 2.1. Which means there will be dsc. Lg deleted that info from the website after someone picked it up.

That's the updated 3440x1440 39 inch WOLED smart monitor.

This is still too big. Maybe the 39-inch version of this will work though.
Mate > glossy
No "boofing fent" comment 😔
Screen is too large for competitive gaming even with black bars. 34" and 39" models would be better for "mainstream" use.
👀
165hz is not the sweet spot, 180hz is the sweet spot, at 180hz you still get perfect scaling on 60fps content.
165hz is just an oddball refresh rate.
I think 180hz would have been a better target, but honestly, you won't notice a difference.
It's a limitation of the Display port technology version.
