Need to work on your AFTER LANDING CHECKLIST. Can't believe taxing witt spoilers deployed. The rest of the video...... fantastic. I love BOMBARDIER líne.
Landed at Hawthorne Municipal Airport. This airport is very close to Space X/Tesla in Los Angeles. The vertical tube in the background at 18:43 is a Falcon 9 rocket.
It has been my dream to fly in a Learjet since I saw one in the TV show Knight Rider. As fate would have it as a teenager I would end up living near a municipal airport. Needless to say this is on my bucket list.
@@RyanBomar there was a lot of Learjet action on the series. Not only do I continue to be a fan of the show but I saw it as an introduction to business aviation and my admiration for the Learjet.
I truly am sorry for ruining the video, I've always had a tendency to zoom in and out. I take full responsibility, and I'm probably almost done uploading altogether, so I won't keep making that mistake.
I like the “zooming in” to the cockpit to see the instruments. Great video! Keep up the good work. Tell the pilot to retract the spoilers after getting off the runway. Taxiing with “dirty wings” is a no-no. 🛩️
Thanks for the video. This is the first long learjet video I've watch. Most videos on small sized business jets youtube recommends me are phenom, honda, pc24, and a few citation. I almost completely forgot learjet exist. It is iconic and I used to "fly" it on 90s flight simulator.
I remember seeing a 1966 Lear 24 pull up on a ramp...all the other pilots of cutting edge, modern planes, hopped out of the cockpit to see it up close and chat with the pilots. Suddenly the new Citation that they just flew in, or the new Gulfstream, and so on, were just not quite as cool when you share the ramp with a turbojet Lear.
@Raul Tiangson list price is $13.8 million... but they have not been selling well in the last 3 or 4 years (Phenom 300 mostly to blame even though the Lear beats it on speed, payload, service ceiling but it's varible costs per hr/mile are also about 25% higher ) so there is talk of serious discounts and rebates to be had on a new one ☺
Hi Ryan fantastic video and looks like an amazing experience. There are a few business jets that fly in to our local airport here in Inverness, Scotland 🏴 for the Castle Stewart golf course. Opulent interior, happy travels.! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by my little ol' channel, Julie! It was a great experience, flying on an aircraft this size is a nice change from the routine jets, like 737-700's.
@@RyanBomar No thank you Ryan! I love your channel and have been a follower for years. The aviation industry in America is amazing and much greater than what we have here. It's my bucket list to get out one day 😊👍
@@julzb7165, I've seen your name in the comments as long as I can remember, and that means everything to me. You'd love the spotting at LAX, if you do make it out this way. They have an area called Imperial Hill, and it overlooks nearly the entire airport. The heavy jets depart in front of you. They have benches up there, and encourage spotters to come by and hang out, even in this more stringent post-9/11 world.
@@RyanBomar That's fantastic Ryan. Your classic footage, of the heavies BUR/MIA etc has me in tears and really feeds my love for aviation. Spotters here aren't really encouraged but this is slowly changing. In Glasgow we had a terrorist attack at the airport and procedures were changed to the extent that the spotters are viewed with suspicion by the authorities www.dailyrecord.co.uk/all-about/glasgow-airport-terror-attack now we have a strong spotters community and we are more recognized and welcomed. If I make it over I'll give you a shout for the best places for footage, 😎👍
Can you explain to me, was this a flight that they offered on their website or did you privately arrange this. I ask because I'd like to go from San Luis Obispo (sbp) to palm springs and all the main airlines have dog flights. Thanks
Awesome video as always! That is the least amount of physical switches that I've ever seen in a cockpit! And that take off-I've read that Learjets are known for their takeoff power!
You're the best! It's always great seeing you in the comments. The physical switch thing crossed my mind as well, it is a screen dominated flight deck, that's for sure. Oh, Learjets have always been known for an abundance of power, and the ability to pin you in your seat, all except for the 55.
Thank you! Flight time was 49 minutes, according to the flight tracker info in the description. As far as the cost, I think it was listed for $3,000 or $4,000...and then add my last minute Southwest ticket from Burbank to get to San Jose.
You are welcome. aircraft are still in my heart. Although I have done my ten years flying on the commercial side of the industry, it was corporate jets that I had the up close time see them here in Chicago when we had a corporate city airport. I love aircraft in general. You have a safe summer flying....@@RyanBomar
Does this company compete with JetSuiteX, or is it a charter-only company? Nice video btw. Could I ask what the airfare was from SJC to HHR? Happy Landings. 🛬
They would compete with JetSuite, not JetSuiteX (the airline). Yeah, this aircraft is charter only. It was a relocation flight, so the airfare question doesn't apply here.
The plane was hopping back empty to Hawthorne after a charter into San Jose. It just so happened that two PC-12 pilots (who fly for the same parent company) got stranded at San Jose, due to a mechanical, so this became their ride home.
I'm a Learjet guy...but my main preference is the 35/36 model, and earlier. That being said, I think the Phenom is a fantastic choice as a owner/operator, because the operating costs are much less, and if you're willing to deal with the extra time en-route, there's really no bad choice. I think it's safe to say that most pilots would prefer the Lear, because it flies faster & farther. So, if my answer is not confusing enough...enjoy :)
The other way around, HHR-SJC would have your left wing toward the ocean as you're flying up the coast. We departed San Jose, as you can see, especially during the taxi shots.
The 51,000 foot service ceiling. Similar to the T-38s I used to help maintain. "Weather? We will just climb above most of it." Also famous for keeping Sea Level pressurization up to a much higher flight altitude than most other aircraft used for medical transport. Helps keep patients safe. It's one reason the main fuselage diameters are as small as they are. Lots of fuselage pressurization cycle fatigue life and significantly failsafe fuselage srtructure.

@@RyanBomar Appreciate the reply, I like the the light jets, as I'm not wanting that many people with me. The one with the Parachute really trips me out!
Manila? If you're in the US, that's a long flight. You'll want a Challenger or a Gulfstream for that. Or if you're a real high roller, a Dassault Falcon or something. Not a Lear.
great video! thanks for not ruining the experience with background music.
Thanks so much! I'm right there with you, I can't stand when music drowns out a video. The point of this video is to put you in my seat.
I am so glad that there’s no music thank you

Great video, and that cockpit is superb.
Thanks so much for watching, Yoda! I do love this flight deck.

Wow I didn’t expect the spool-up to be so long
I counted six different power levels as the spool up was happening.
Learjet is and has always been my favorite business jet; especially the 24 and 55. Northrop Grumman at HHR operated a 35 through the '90s.
