    8,000ft cabin pressure vs Phenom 300e 6,600ft. & No Quite Engine Mode (aka APU Mode). No thanks! Learjet needs to go back to the drawing board.

    I've worked on these things for 13 years. These things are awesome biz jets. Too bad their support and parts availability went in the crapper. Since Learjet doesn't produce the 70/75's anymore.....it's only going to get worse. Such a shame.

      Is it true these larger Lears are still based off of the 25 with regards to landing gear and brakes? If so, that's kinda sketchy

    Considering performance, capacity and cost, in the light jet category, Learjet 75 Liberty would be ideal were it single pilot certified.
    Embraer and others would have to step up their game with something other than just leather seat seat; but, they don't have to worry about that now.
    1. Embraer Phenom 300e
    2. Citation Cj4
    3. Pilatus Pc-24

    • @jlalbee
      @jlalbee 2 года назад +2

      No Learjet has ever been certified single pilot, and it is far too complex an aircraft to imagine such a thing. Unfortunately, all that performance comes with a trade-off: A minimum crew of 2.

      Learjets were never able to cross the Atlantic, only the planned 85 would have been able, but never went into production.😕

    Always seen Lear as a hot rod & then "the" hot rod of biz jets.
    FL-510 is more than worth the ride / the drive -no cheap sunglasses.
    Hopefully, Lear will be resurrected. Probably will have to come out of Canada, though.
    Thank you, Jet Base. . . . A Liberty on my near future ticket?

    Hmm for me, this Lear Jet 75 Liberty, with the ability of the Pilatus PC 24 to land practically anywhere, and the roomy interior of the Embraer Phenom 500, would be the "Ideal Jet".

    • @rcairflr
      @rcairflr 2 года назад

      It lacked in a lot of key areas for aircraft ownership, hence the end of the venerable Learjet.

      @@etops8086 Key areas like (?):

    • @etops8086
      @etops8086 2 года назад +2

      @@JERios-wv8lx Primarily its weight and runway/climb performance were worse off than the Lear 40/45. Additionally in order to get the price down into the light jet market they had to remove the APU and some cabin seats comparative to the Lear 70, it's only a 6-seat light which lacks when compared even to the Lear 35A and 31A. Its range was also a disappointment at about 1800 NM with reserves, which isn't any improvement over the Lear 45XR. Finally it is the only Learjet model that is payload restricted at max fuel.
      It was effectively much less Lear for a much bigger price. It drove a lot of owners and operators to ask why they would buy a 75 over a 45 - not even considering the advantages of the Phenom 300 or CJ4.

    Not impressed. The HondaJet has all this and more...Gulfstream offers far better aircraft. Learjet has fallen far since being aquired. It's time for a serious update else they will become irrelevant.

    • @AviationBase
      @AviationBase  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately the Learjet lineup was discontinued so we won't see any update unless they start working on it again

    • @jlalbee
      @jlalbee 2 года назад

      Both the HondaJet and anything built by Gulfstream are in different market segments than the Learjet. And, well, calling Learjet irrelevant is a bit like calling the Porsche 911 irrelevant. It's kinda silly.
