Thank you, Philip, much for such a sober point of view. You make a lot of people leaving, or about to leave, faith come back and stay. Big hi from Ukraine! :)

I have just discovered Philip Yancey today. I have a feeling I am in for some eye opening reads in the coming weeks and months.

FWIW, I went to the same Bible college that he did. I found that reading through his books sequentially shows a growth that gave me more hope than I ever thought possible.

If you’re still looking, try the podcast by Peter Enns and Jared Byas, especially the ones with Brian Zahnd. They love questions about doubts, about contradictions, and about the fallacy of certainty.

You may never be able to find one that may fully understand you and give satisfactory answers to your questions, so how about just bringing and opening it all up to God yourself?

Another proclaimer who knows, "The Real God" Will we ever give ourselves the true freedom to think for ourselves and not be bamboozled by some pseudo religious nutter loading his pocket on the back of an easy target audience open to suck up anything in the name of God.
thats a bit harsh comment isn't it. can i just ask you if you listened and understood the rather simple english language the man uses. it's rather as simple as the message in the bible. the bible is not difficult to understand. it's not like quantum physics or something really esoteric. what is your problem?

This talk has not much to do with the subject/title under which it is listed.

God is like Jesus. That is why the Jahwah of the Old Testament does not seem to be the Loving Father of Jesus.

Do you have solid evidence for your conclusion that this man is a "pseudo religious nutter" and if you do please could you provide it. Or is it your opinion. On what basis do you conclude that the audience are not free thinkers. Did you chat to a good number of them and then come to that conclusion? You talk of people being bamboozled. We're the people threatened if they didn't attend this talk or were the doors locked behind them so they couldn't get out?
