A Flower Farmers Ode To Summer's End

Hello friends. I thought I would share some words which sum up some of the emotions I feel as a flower farmer, as the season begins to change, moving from summer to autumn, with all the changes that brings for growing and working the land.

Autumn seems to arrive so quickly
I know its coming, of course
yet it always cstches me by surprise.
I'm torn between happiness that the pincacle of seasons is upon us,
yet nostalgic for the summer sun, light and abundance.
I can feel everything slowing down,
including my self.
Theres less weedng to do, at last
yet , in turn , i know what that means
I look around and, wow,
there are still so many flowers
plus the addition of berries,
vibrant colour from the hedges.
and i hope, and hope that the frost stays clear,
at least until my final wedding
Goodbye summer,
you'll be back soon.
